O.k. I give up. Though I'm far from a health food person, I do try (once in a while) to maybe select something that is lower fat or sodium. That's what I've read to do.

Also, I have a friend (who is diabetic) and was she having trouble regulating her insulin (had to increase it, which made her hungry and she was gaining a ton of weight). Her doctor suggested that she was a candidate for gastric bypass, but she first had to go to weeks of weight control with a dietician. She had to pick all low fat foods, in order to get in a safe weight range, for the operation. So I figured if the experts told her to use lower fat, then I figured it was probably good advice for anyone.

But then I read your comments above about lower fat, and sort of threw my hands up in the air. :( Oh well.
You can lose weight easily by going on a completely whole foods diet. Ok, @Mr Ferret 88 . Here is where you come in with a snarky, yet very amusing response. ;) They do add other things to reduced fat foods though. Label reading is important. If you cannot find ingredients on the label that do not sound like food, you shouldn't be eating it.

Different things work for different people. I wouldn't mock anyone's diet that works for them. As long as your Dr is on board with it then it's all good.

Cesar, glad to hear that your trip to Houston is going well for you. (Feel free to send us pix of Houston--I've never been there.) :)
This^^^ We considered moving to that area a few years ago. It was a few months before the hurricane that caused all the damage. We even looked at houses that were in the area where everything was under water. We were glad at the time we hadn't moved there. In any case, now that the doctor visit is over, hope you are having fun @Cesar R M and eating good food.:)

Hi all! :) First off thank you for the many well wishes. It's been a long few weeks and I just had to step away from a lot in my life and regroup. The diagnosis was nothing for the longest time then the torn hip muscle with hyperextended knee (which is positive), then MS, then not MS, then rheumatoid arthritis, then not that, then MS again, then not, then yes with scarring from over fifteen years ago and no symptoms since then.....a real mental rollercoaster! Everyone has told me to get second opinion on the MS thing so I am.

Then three friends all lost their moms since Memorial Day. It comes in threes so I'm done with that! School has been out for a few weeks so that's been nice. I'm not digging the 90* days but this week was so cold our heat ran at night. Mother Nature!

I think for once I may have to dive in somewhere and ketchup, I just don't where. Just keep swimming....just keep swimming....:D

The answer to that is that everyone is different. I don't intentionally do things that are bad for me, but, I'm sure I do quite often because of lack of knowledge. Do what makes the most sense to you after doing just a minor amount of research.

The fact of the matter is that all the stuff we do is not going to give us everlasting life. We are either going to die of something definable or we are going to die of nothing. But, the unchangeable fact is that at some point, no matter what we do, we are going to die. If there is another life awaiting us, then we can do it all again. If not, then we have to make the most of the life that we do have. Seems complicated, but, it isn't really. Live life in the manner that makes you happy. That is the best that any of us can do.

Since he hasn't responded yet, let me help... the weight that you will lose on a whole foods diet comes directly from your wallet.

Sorry for all that is going on, wishing you and your friends all the best. The advice for a second opinion is a good one. It is nice to see you back around these parts.:)

I am so sorry for what you have gone through the last bunch of weeks. I hope that things will begin to improve. Prayers and Pixie Dust for you. At least you can look forward to delicious dinners created by dd.

@Songbird76 , I hope your son doesn't need any further medical procedures on his wrist. So sorry to hear this happened to him.
Thanks! It was a rough night...he didn't sleep much. But this morning they just looked at the cast, had him move his fingers, told us to give him more paracetamol, and that was it. His fingers are a bit swollen, but other than that, he seems to be doing pretty well.

Was this the overnight test drive? It is really pretty. Will you get to pick a color?

edit: nevermind....I see you already answered. So when will you get yours that you don't have to give back?
I'm going to ask for this specific one. I'm hoping to get it sometimes this week. My parents leave for their vacation the week after this one, so I want this done before then. We'll see how good my dad's powers of negotiation are.
