I’m a member for discounts as well.. only since last November, didn’t find any decent discounts for our last few overnights, but I’m hoping to take advantage at some point!

I’m glad you’ve found some!

I've had AAA forever.....mostly thru my parents but I'm not sure it's worth it for me but I keep it just in case. Though I did get towed once. I had to pay because it was far away. But credit cards pay for towing too so who knows.

You may want to keep it, especially if you're on your parent's account. That's a much cheaper option as a "family member", than opening an account for yourself.

18 weeks along and she's about the size of a sweet potato (5.5 inches long)...SWEET...!!!!!!!!!!! :joyfull::hilarious::inlove::inlove::inlove:
I love this! Also love her name. :inlove::inlove: One of the books I had when pregnant that is in the house somewhere waa one that showed the weekly fetal growth. It described all that was going on and also had in iutero pictures. I would only turn a page when I got to the next week. It really helped getting through the morning sickness and other aches and pains.

Sorry it took me awhile to respond. Yes you can have the gift cards added to your account at check-in and that credits your account before anything gets charged to your credit card. To speed up the process I made sure that I had all the cards separated with any of the sticky goo off the back (we bought ours in a pack from Sam's) and the little silver thing over the code was off too. I don't know if you have to take off the stickers on the back all the time, but on the cruise they had to and it took a long time so I did it in advance for check in at the All Stars in March. Although then I didn't really pay attention to how she swiped them. I have read that you can consolidate gift cards onto one card up to a certain amount but I haven't done that.
I was going to get egift cards from Target. They don’t sell $100 ones in the stores. No Sam’s by me.

Too funny!!!
I was just thinking earlier that that is what I will lovingly refer to her as...!!!!!
Our last update was when she was about the size of a plum. Although I love plumbs, Sweet Potato just has a better ring to it, IMHO...!!! :)
I called a couple of my kids that for a while because one of the companies I bought clothes from was called Sweet Potatoes. Eventually they all had different baby nicknames. I still call my youngest “little tot” or “tiny tot” even though she is 7 now. :)

Today’s Drama
Brought to you by 21Stamps

T and I arrive home @ 8:30.

“Mom, can I ride my scooter real quick? 5 minutes, please?”

“Ok T. 5 minutes only.”

“Great! Thanks!”

I’m in my room getting changed. Hear a blood curdling scream.

Look out the window and see a car stopped in the street, and a man standing over my son crumpled in an odd position. His scooter is half in the street. No more screams.

I SPRINT and grab my robe, not dressed yet.. Sprint down the stairs as I’m fumbling with tying my robe. and full faster sprint out the front door the the end of my driveway.

In a mater of 10 seconds every worst imaginable thought went thru my head.

I reach my son, he lets out a screaming cry. I realize that he didn’t get hit by the car. The man says “I saw him wipe out and wanted to make sure he was ok.” I thank the man and lean over T. Man leaves. I’m pushing prodding and asking questions, T is sobbing. I realize nothing is broken and bring him inside.

It was JUST SCRAPES!!! Bad scrapes, elbow, hip, side, and knee, lots of blood, but only scrapes underneath. As soon as I realize this I started LAUGHING. T says through his cries “Why are you laughing at me?? Oh no get that stuff away from me!!(referring to the peroxide) MOMMY WHY ARE YOU LAUGHING!!!???”
“Because I’m so glad that you’re just being a wimp!”

That did not go over well. I told him that if he calmed down he we get ice cream. I told about all of my scrapes and injuries at age 8 and earlier, and told him how lucky he was that he didn’t even have a wipe out until 8 years of age.

I realized that besides his broken bone at age 3, which he probably doesn’t remember, that the kid has never actually been hurt. I think he was more scared by it than anything, and that’s what caused such a reaction. I know it hurt, but not to the degree that he was sobbing, especially his reaction while I was sanitizing and bandaging, it was way over the top.

Afterwards, we both laughed about it over banana splits... and he pinky promised that he will not go past a certain spot of the driveway again, and he will not scream bloody murder unless it’s a serious injury, and that I won’t laugh at him again (I honestly didn’t mean to, it was almost relief laughter if that makes sense). Poor kid is all scraped and bandaged up though. So many sports games this weekend, will be interesting to see how he handles it.
Sympathy like for T and for you. He will be sore for sure. Hope he heals quickly. Our driveway is sloped and I always worry about a wipeout.

It was similar to this. Just look at the image. No need to watch the video ;)
It's gonna cost a pretty penny to replace that. There is also a compressor unit that needs to be bolted to the roof

Oh. I thought you were talking about the old fashioned wall or window units that you can pick up at a regular appliance place. Yeah, those are expensive. We have a home warranty and keep it specifically if the central air/heating ever goes. I don’t want to shell out 10k.

This will be under $2,000 and then add the labor. Getting professionals to come to my home to make their sales pitch. First one will be Monday at 4PM.

Awww....poor kid. And poor you! I would have been freaking out!!! To be honest, with DS, he's always had that over-the-top kind of the reaction to EVERYTHING, so we've learned to not panic when he lets out the blood curtling scream, because if WE freak out, he'll freak out even more. Do they have rules with the sports about outside activities? I've heard of that with some sporting teams that kids have to sign a contract saying they won't do this or that because they could get injured and not be able to play, which would let their team down. I've always thought that was kind of ridiculous unless they are professional athletes getting paid. Kids have to be kids and sometimes they are going to take a spill. Glad it wasn't more serious! And how nice of the guy to stop and check to see if T was ok!

Thanks! He was totally fine this morning. Wants to show his friends the huge bandaids.lol.
We didn’t have to sign a contract about other activities, his soccer is strict, but something like that would be a deal breaker for us!

I’m fairly good about remaining calm during that kind of stuff, on the exterior at least, I know what to check for on broken bones or sprains, that was my main concern after realizing the car wasn’t involved. So besides running outside in my bathrobe :hilarious: I didn’t visibly freak out, but I was petrified for a second, it was weird to hear the scream then nothing. He said he didn’t want to cry in front of the man, and that if he moved then he knew he would cry. I really think it’s the blood and the torn skin that made him freak out like that. The kid can get hit by a baseball pitch, in the face with a soccer ball, trip on the field- and doesn’t phase him. But this was like I was pouring alcohol on his wounds- sobbing and yelling.

All’s well that ends well. I’m sure it won’t be the last time he gets all scraped up.
