Did you ever consider Baltimore? Royal C has a ship that sails out of Baltimore. You CAN SEE it when traveling that region of I-95
Thanks for the suggestion, but nope- also too cold.

I’m staying with the “big ships” for T.. my first choice was a Southern out of Puerto Rico, but I think he’d hate the ship.

I really wanted to stay with NCL for my perks.. mistakingly passed on the Bliss because I envisioned monstrous wait times for the race track. I’m just going to tell myself that it wasn’t a mistake, and the wait times will be monstrous. ;).
With the Escape now in NYC, and having already sailed the same Getaway itinerary last year, I thought NOLA would be perfect based on 3 reasons- T was currently into a few books about New Orleans, 2 stops in Belize. Different atmosphere from Florida.

I’ve heard that sailing down the Mississippi is a truly unique experience, so maybe I just need to make peace with my original decision.

We have driven down to Florida's Port Canaveral twice. The Baltimore ship for some reason wasn't what we were looking for. Maybe it was going to Bermuda and we had already visited there???
The Epic is out of Port Canaveral and does have a great itinerary, it just looks like a weird ship.

Bermuda is high on our to-do list!! Did you do a land vacay or a cruise there? I know the cruises stay 2 nights which sounds great.

On a different note, I hope everyone had a nice Saturday. My wife and I went to Historic Smithville. They had a Ren. Festival. View attachment 281107

That looks so fun!!

Why is a lavender or pink boys dress shirt so difficult to find?!?!!!!

I can’t find one under $50+ This is crazy.

I’m not paying that much for the stupid one-time-use-only shirt.

I already bought the one-time-use-only stupid 3 piece suit, which is at the tailor’s now. T is so pale that the white and black contrast doesn’t look so good. I wanted him to get a navy suit.. but of course he wouldn’t agree with his mother.

I’m also having an issue with ties, there’s just not a great selection for this age. We ended up buying him one that he liked, but’s it’s also dark colors.

This is the one and only time I will probably ever say the following sentence-
I wish I could delegate this suiting project to a man!

Oh my!
At the mens clothing store I still do those occasional closers at, we have both pink and lavender dress shirts (among many other colors) for only $19.99. The slim fit ones are still only $29.99.
And, also, all of our ties are only $19.99...from bow ties, to skinny ties, to regular.

What color is the suit?
If it's anything from light gray, to charcoal, to even black, a lavender shirt with a darker purple tonal striped tie will look awesome! Plus, depending on the client, some like their coat sleeves a little shorter to get some shirt cuff color more involved, especially with a 3-piece, where the vest covers up more shirt.
But, the cool thing about a 3-piece is if it's all too hot, you can chair the coat and still look pretty formal with the vest still on...!!! :)

I'm sure it will all be perfectly fine, no matter what...you're an awesome mom...!!!!! :)

Sounds good to me. Good decision :)

We took a fairly large Royal C ship out of Bayonne NJ. This RC ship had an ice skating rink with arena seating around it. The professional skaters on that ship were really good! Yes the itinerary had you docked in Bermuda 1 and 3/4 days.

That looks so fun!!

Black suit. They are allowed to do - black, dark blue, or dark gray. I wanted blue. He did not want blue. He only wanted black..my last choice.

I bought slim fit pants and jacket and vest, and a slim fit white shirt.. all in size 8 when he’s really a 10. The pants still needed to be hemmed, I want them above his shoes.
The pants also don’t fit him as slim as I want, but unfortunately the tailor could not get them finished by next weekend (tip: don’t procrastinate).
I don’t like the white with the black combined with his complexion..and also the white shirt is too short on his arms...but a 10 will be too baggy!!

I don’t know how people buy suits for tall skinny kids. To fit correctly the tailoring would cost more than the suit! And worse, by the time it was finished being tailored- they’d probably be grown out of it already.

Not to sound shallow, but men in ill fitting suits have always bothered me. My husband wore suits almost daily on week days, and wore jackets very often to dinner or a bar.. he was such a stickler about tailoring.. and now I’m going to put my child in a sloppy suit.
Why do they have to wear 3 piece suits anyway? I wish it was trousers, shirt, and tie.

Sorry..that last bit was even more whiny than the rest of the post.lol. I understand why they wear suits. I’m just so over trying to get it to look and fit correctly.

Here’s how I envisioned the ‘slim fit’ would somewhat look on T-

Here’s how T looks in reality..😂😂😂

Like I said, they’re at the tailor’s now getting the correct break.. so maybe that will help calm the baggy factor as well.

I’m still on the hunt for a shirt that’s long enough for the cuff to pop out, without being able to fit 3 of him inside. ;)

Not digging the name. I would have preferred Arthur or James as the first name (I don't care about the rest of the name). Louis is a French name, and I don't understand why they picked that for a British member of the Royal Family.

I hand the question over to our other resident expert on Great Britain, @FutureCEO -- what do you think of the name?
I didn’t like the choice myself.

Thanks! They're trying to cover all bases of what happened so I'm scheduled for a lumbar puncture on Thursday. :bawling: It's been a whirlwind of the past few weeks. :grumpy: At least there's 3 1/2 weeks of school left so I don't have to worry about that.
I cannot like that. I empathize with you completely though about the last few weeks. Hope everything goes well and that the outcome will be positive.

We had a fun morning. The hot water heater leaked and caused our safety to shut off all the water in the house. I'm not sure how but if our pressure drops below a certain point everything shuts off and we don't have a flood. Guess my dh did something right. Right now the old one is draining, you'd think the guys would have drained the old one before the new one showed up.:cautious: Anyhoo @MinnieM123 you'll like this part, our local plumbing supply store had one in stock and even with deliver it was 25% less than at a box store with us having to pick it up:inlove:
You are lucky. Our hot water heater broke 2 years ago about this time and flooded about 30% or more of the basement with about an inch of water. That was a $3000 fix.

Just got back from my shift of Prom chaperone and ballot counter for king and queen.. it is fun to see all the kids dressed up so nice. The theme this year was a night in Paris.

Our school has a foreign exchange student from France and his parents shipped over dozens and dozens of macaron cookies so the kids here could have a real French touch at their dance. I may have enjoyed a few myself! The French student was named honorary Prom king and our exchange student from Japan was voted honorary Prom Queen and of course we had the ones voted on by the students.

Anyway here is a look at some of the decorations. I think they did a nice job.
