Why? Snow is finally done but school is still fun
After a series of MRIs and blood work and wicked bad pain for the past few months it has finally been determined I have a tear in my hip joint. This past week has been so bad, I've been almost confined to a chair and sleeping because it hurts to lay down for long. Steps are almost a no go.
I know I'm the unusual teacher. I much prefer teaching to summer vacation. I realize ajrwdwgirl is speaking as a parent. A whole different point of viewWhy? Snow is finally done but school is still fun
Well that is a very good reasonWhen school is out, I get to go on vacation!

That is above and beyond. I am so impressed. The teachers will be thrilled I'm sure.Weāre actually doing something really neat for Teachers Appreciation Week this year.. my favorite of the past few years anyway.
Weāre buying large beach bags for each.. then stuffing them with summer āmust havesā - magazines, lotions, Graeters (an ice cream shop) gift cards, beach towel, picnic supplies, baked goods, etc etc. Weāre also making lunch every day that week.
Definitely a group effort. The PTA sent out a signup genius page and most parents contributed a few things, some several. I hope the teachers enjoy the gifts and the week! They definitely deserve it!
Anyone know why the seedlings we planted that were flourishing, are no limp and sad looking? I donāt think we overwatered them. We did take them outside during the day over the weekend to get direct sunlight. Think that was the problem?

I think itās always so tough to figure out teachers gifts for holidays/appreciation/end of year before summer break. Iām always worried that a gift will get banished to a junk pile or that weāve given something that everyone else has already given..lol. Iām sure you two have encountered that a lot over the years. Teachers should send out a āwish list for giftsā with their introduction emails before school starts every year . Help us parents out!
I hope so! It sounds neat.. I only mentioned a few of the items.. thereās so many! That is above and beyond. I am so impressed. The teachers will be thrilled I'm sure.
Could have been too much pressure exposure too quickly. They have to aclimate over a week or so. They'll likely bounce back but they'll be a free weeks behind. We made that mistake once and the plants had just as many blooms and fruits.
We normally bring in donuts but this year we're going to buy some special supplies the center doesn't buy that her teachers want.

Wow! Things vary by community I guess. Teachers in my school are honored by the PTA with a lovely deluxe lunch. We do not (as far as I know) receive any gift from individual kids. I'm happy with chicken parmesan and some sincere sentimentsI hope so! It sounds neat.. I only mentioned a few of the items.. thereās so many!
I only signed up for a couple of packs of taco shells and 3 magazines. I purposely stayed away from the āhomemade baked goods listā, and all of the gift card slots were already taken.lol.
Iām still not sure what T will give to his teachers. I played it safe the past 3 years at Christmas with Yankee Candles inside of a Christmas themed tin.lol. Appreciation week we usually just do a gift card, but T says āthatās no fun!ā So, heās picking the gift this year. Should be interesting.
Well I learned something about you tonight. Thanks for filling me inI am a teacher, but I am not a parent. At least not to a human child, I have a 6 year old baby girl schnauzer.
I will agree with you though if you enjoy teaching more than summer vacation! I like my job, but I much more enjoy having the summer to do all the things I like to do whenever I want. I always have a ton of projects and little things I want to do that I just don't have time or energy to do during the school year and summer breaks from work allow me to do those and recharge for the next year.

Nice!!! Thatās the kind of info that I wish I knew!
I went against etiquette and just asked
