I’d be happy with just a squad. ;)
No but I did see this at work when it happened. And the wedding to be is not fair for Meghan Markle to automatically get citizenship.

Someone on facebook told me to just move there already. Inside I'm like I would if I could. Well, anywhere in Europe really.

I wonder if Meghan will have dual citizenship, or if she has to completely give up her U.S. passport, in order to be a member of the Royal Family?

I had sent an email to our team administrator this morning, asking if the coach could email me and give his thoughts about T, some advice about his nerves/game play and how I can help him.

I sent it because T did not score a goal yesterday.. why? Because he only took one shot!! He had 5 assists, which is great.. but this kid was kicking bullets in the practice time before the game yesterday morning. Assists are good and all.. and necessary., but he’s not shooting because of his darn nerves!! Same with dribbling, he again passed so often when he didn’t need to.
We aren’t going to be at the 2 games this weekend, and tryout registration starts on Monday! I don’t know what to do. That’s the only game that he’s played with them.

The administrator emailed me back, said she forwarded it to the coach, and that he would get back to me shortly.

Well, their practice was cancelled tonight, so that’s two hours that he could have had time to write an email to me. I understand if he was busy the rest of the day.. but come on! I was expecting to read it by now.

@SteveBrickNJ asked what our wishes were today....I'm going with I wish school was done with for the year.
ME TOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just said this earlier. My nerves are on their last minuscule thread. I can’t handle it any more!!! Things should ease up after first communion this weekend.. but then we head straight into teacher appreciation week, and Olympic Day planning/volunteering.. and 3rd semester exams.. and Festival planning/volunteer requests/donation requests just started.

I’m used to juggling a lot, but I can’t remember the last time I was this overwhelmed.

Two hours isn't really a long time . . . :) Maybe go have a snack, watch some tv, and think about it again in the morning. (I'm a bit more laid back about things. ;) )

I sent the email at 8am. Our practice is from 6-8pm. Since our practice was cancelled, I think the coach should utilize that time to write an email to me.(and any other parents who may have concerns or questions).

Not to sound like a jerk, but we’ve spent a lot of money for this, I feel like I shouldn’t wait 24 hours for a reply on a night when practice didn’t even take place. Had the practice not been cancelled, which obviously freed up his time, then I would be more understanding.

The season ends in less than 1 month. Tryouts for Fall take place in 32 days. We’ve had 1 game and a total of 4 or 5 practices.

That's understandable. Even a brief acknowledgement from him would have been nice, regardless of whether or not he had any details. That aside, I know that people lead busy lives, and sometimes a timely response may not always happen, due to other circumstances.

But he’s being paid to do this!!! The rain isn’t his fault, obviously. However, take the practice time to write emails to parents who have concerns about their child.. we’re not getting the playing time that we paid for.. imo- a timely email during freed up “work hours” isn’t asking too much!!!

Sorry, not trying to take my frustrations out on you. I’m just....frustrated.

Maybe you can text? I would consider a different club next year. Possibly do an indoor one only so that you don’t need to worry about weather issues. It does seem ridiculous that you have had so many issues with practices and games. You should get some money back. In regards to T not taking initiative with scoring, you could always threaten him nicely and say that if he doesn’t try and score when he is obviously able to that you will pull him from playing. That worked for one kid on my little dd’s cheer team. A kid could do a skill but was afraid to. The coach said that if she wasn’t going to do it then she could just do a simpler skill while the others did the more advanced one. She wasn’t having that and then did the skill perfectly in the competition.

O.k. I don't know this guy, and I can also appreciate your frustration. But I have nothing further to say at this point.

I would give it until tomorrow morning. Then write again. Why was practice canceled? Did it rain again?

They keep the coaches completely protected from the parents. That’s why every team has their own administrator for contact. I understand the reasoning behind it. But we’re running out of time!

T used to strive for a hat trick every game, he knows I reward him with a dining out of his choice afterwards.. one goal is ice cream.
He was upset with himself yesterday.. he doesn’t play badly, he just doesn’t play like he CAN. He’s like a different kid at practice than he was at the indoor games with the older club kids, and I saw how different he was in the game vs warm ups yesterday morning. I do need advice from the coach for what to do. T started in the game, and I know the coach compliments him often at practice, so I’m assuming that he may be noticing the same thing that I am after watching him yesterday.

I want to help T.. and we’re not getting enough field time for him to work thru it himself, so I need direction of how I can do it at home!

Anyone know why the seedlings we planted that were flourishing, are no limp and sad looking? I don’t think we overwatered them. We did take them outside during the day over the weekend to get direct sunlight. Think that was the problem?

Yes, it has been raining from morning til about a half hour ago. Pouring all day. First they said practice was on and to wear a rain jacket.. but then the fields were closed. That happens often in all clubs because they don’t want to ruin their fields, and fields will get ruined in that kind of rain.
I do understand that this crazy weather this year isn’t their fault.

Maybe place him on SAY next year? Maybe he is just not comfortable with the club? Ask him.

I did. He wants to try out again. He likes his coach and his team. He said that he just gets nervous and wants to give the ball to someone better than him so they can win. His lack of confidence is infuriating. I asked him yesterday if he just wanted to play SAY. He said “No, I want to play with kids who know and love soccer as much as I do. I don’t like when no one knows what they’re doing.”
I said “Ok buddy, that’s fine. But you have to remember what you just said- you KNOW soccer, you LOVE soccer, and you’re GREAT at soccer. That is WHY you made this team and other kids didn’t. You’re not being fair to your team or the kids who could have had your spot IF you don’t play to your potentional. Play for the club, or play SAY, whichever makes you happy, but you have to believe in yourself and play the way you know you can.”
“Ok Mom, I will.”

But.. we’ve had this same convo before. I need outside advice from a coach at this point.
