Best I can tell, it was the same passenger.
They released her name, but, I can't remember what it was. She was a publicity specialist (?) for Wells Fargo from Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Still not clear to me whether she sustained shrapnel injuries or maybe oxygen deprivation with her head outside the window too long...?
As far as I've heard it's the first accident-related death on one of there planes in the airlines 51 year history (although one person was killed in a car when a SW plane skidded off the runway in Chicago some years ago.
An amazing safety record for sure.
But, of course, none of that makes this any less tragic.
Just such a freak thing, and so very sad.
I hope they do investigate what went wrong with the engine.

The only other explosion that I remember from.. was the ROLLS ROYCE engines of the super jumbo, which was found to have heavy defects in its oil system.

The same type of damage that ended affecting other models of engines as well, all from Rolls Royce.

Seems their engines are still having issues.. https://leehamnews.com/2018/04/14/faa-ad-may-severely-limit-etops-of-rr-powered-787s-sources/

I mean.. 40% to 50% failure rate on engines of the 787.. Thats insane..

*edit*

Found that the engines are actually made by General Electric and Safran Aircraf Engines (CFM Engines) and not Rolls Roys on their Trent series.

I messed up. So badly. Cookies are ruined and now it’s way too late to do anything about it.

I blame it on the parchment paper. :cautious:;)

Even without ever using parchment paper, I've had many cookie disasters, but they still ended up tasting good. And if you have any decorator frosting, you can easily cover up any imperfections. No one will know the difference, believe me.

So this morning's crazy news is that Houston police caught some guy on the roof of St. Martin's Episcopal Church (the church for Barbara Bush's funeral). A church employee just happened to see someone up on the roof so called police. When the police caught the guy, he said he was just "exploring" . . . (on a church roof . . . after midnight . . .). :cautious:

Ugh. :banghead: Strange world we live in.

I messed up the frosting too. The whole thing is a mess. I was so tired and apparently not thinking clearly.

Drama Queen Alert-

I just cried all the way home from dropping T off from school. I feel so horrible!!! I’ve been baking/decorating for about 9 years now. I’ve done cakes and cupcakes galore. Last year was the first time I did flooded royal icing cookies. They weren’t perfect..but the kids loved the Minecraft design and knew what they were.
Today’s cookies—- not the right color.. never dried.. no writing. Just a wrinkled blue shirt cookie!! I could tell that T was embarrassed. I told him that I would run and get bakery cookies and bring them to school later. He said “No. I’ll bring them. And I won’t tell anyone that you messed up. “
I replied, “Please do tell them that I messed up!” 😂😂

Omg I’m going to be the laugh of the PTA I’m sure. More importantly though, I just hope the kids are nice about it and actually eat them!

Breathe, lady,..... breathe. T is picking up on your feeling of failure. He has cookies to bring to school for his birthday, so he's certainly not thinking of you as a failure. Kids are really good at feeling us out and responding to our moods and attitudes. He gets cookies. Even wrinkly shirt cookies taste like cookies!!

Also...... I throw all the Pinterest parties..... But when I run low on time I totally farm that carp out. Next year, maybe save yourself some stress and buy the cookies? I used to make all of A's birthday cakes from scratch, but I've learned the art of decorating Costco cakes with figurines. So I order an $18 sheet cake, buy some figurines and make a little banner thing, and then whammo. Cake is done. So much less stress than trying to make it myself. Plus it comes in a neat box that makes it easy to transport.
