For better or worse, DD's exam is DONE. Yay! She has a pretty good feeling about it. It's supposed to be a bit...interactive I guess? The better you do, the harder the questions they become. And she and her best friend both got a question about something they hadn't learned about in school, and they were the only ones who got that question, which was really advanced, and she and her best friend are the top 2 in their class. So she thinks that must mean she was doing well, to get the harder questions. She said the test was fun....something different for a change, so she enjoyed it. And her acceptance letter for her high school program came today, so she got into the program she wanted. YAY!! Very proud of her, and I'll be interested to see the results of her test. But she's in, no matter what happens.

So one of my coworkers said that before they moved me to my current role and I used to nag him to do hIs timesheets, he was afraid of me. "You were like a teacher! I was afraid I would get detention!" Evidently he would see me walking down the hall and walk the other way.

I'm like, okay, there's five feet of my and like six feet of you. And you were afraid of me? 😂

So this morning's crazy news is that Houston police caught some guy on the roof of St. Martin's Episcopal Church (the church for Barbara Bush's funeral). A church employee just happened to see someone up on the roof so called police. When the police caught the guy, he said he was just "exploring" . . . (on a church roof . . . after midnight . . .). :cautious::facepalm:

Ugh. :banghead: Strange world we live in.
That sounds hella suspicious.

Thanks ladies!

Dryerlintfan- I accidentally poured an extra 3/4 cup water in. Tried to make it up with powdered sugar, but didn’t add any more meringue. That’s what ruined the consistency.
Then I added the blue coloring to the main white frosting batch— not even thinking that it was the big bowl and NOT the small bowl. At that point I didn’t have enough supplies to make another double batch. They’re edible, but they’re not very good!!

Here’s what they were supposed to be- white jersey, sleeve, name, and ‘8’ drawn on with an edible marker. View attachment 278805

Here’s what I sent to school-

😭😂😭😂

Anyway, thanks for listening to my failures once again.. and for giving support!

The rest of the day should be hiccup free. :)
The top ones looks like they were made with special precut molds.

That thread has become more than that. Somehow, the topic got over to allergies, and a guy said he brings his own can of peanuts on a plane and eats them when they don't serve them because of an allergy. 😮 Then he tried to say that people aren't actually allergic to the smell of peanuts or the dust. When I told him we, no, that's not the case, I have a peanut allergy and I know from experience that it's not the case. He then asked me why I don't just treat my own allergy instead of "inconveniencing" everyone. Then he proceeded to explain my own allergy to me. Good grief, mansplaining at its finest. He got two very sarcastic responses from me in return.
Really? He can't go a few hours without peanuts? I guess I didn't realize that peanuts were addictive. Perhaps he should go to a rehab facility to break the addiction.
But in all seriousness, if he's bringing his own peanuts on the plane, it means he's just being a jerk. You don't NEED peanuts...you aren't going to die without them, so if you are so insistent on having peanuts, you're doing it to be a jerk to those with allergies. I get it in a school if your kid doesn't like lunch meats or cheese....the only thing I would eat in my lunch was a PB&J. But you're not flying every day, and there's got to be SOME other snack you like besides peanuts...so bringing your own on a flight is basically like telling everyone else "screw you".

Yep, more of a show of spite than anything else.

I got bit by a weird mosquito or two in New Orleans and the next day the bites opened up and started oozing. The day after that, my foot got hot and swelled up and turned red. So I've been taking Benadryl to help, and it's made me so tired. I've had to slam espresso all day just to make it through work.
I can't like that! Have you had it checked by a doctor? That doesn't sound good!! Are you sure it was a mosquito and not a spider or something?

All this talk about people going to Chuy's makes me really want to try it. But the closest one is in the Chicago area, probably the one near @Gabe1 . So it makes me want to go to Chicago but then hubs would want to visit his family.....so maybe not. However perhaps when I have to go see them again, perhaps the chit chatters in the Chicago area would want to rescue me and meet me at Chuy's for a bit!
Bribe DH. Tell him you'll only go to visit his family if he promises to take you to Chuy's!

I watched some of the nightly news when I came home. What a freaking bizarre incident. The part that got me was the other passengers holding on to this woman, to keep her from being ejected out of the plane, while in flight??!!! OMG! :jawdrop::jawdrop:

And as for the other passenger that died, he or she died at a hospital--haven't heard the reason why yet. Awful.
I saw it on the news....and I was thinking...those windows are so small! How BIG was that person....and were they wearing a seatbelt? How could they almost get sucked out the window? How TERRIFIED would you be in that situation. I can't even imagine.
