All of you princess visitors are so lucky!! The looks, the convos, it’s all so adorable!!

Here’s my niece today ❤️
She was showing the one princess how their dresses matched, and telling the other about everyone who has signed her book already.
I love Disney...even when I’m not there!!!

I have to say, that even though I do have a princess, we never got to do any of these. @dryerlintfan 's A was afraid of dark rides. Mine was afraid of all of the characters. All of them. I was kind of prepared. Her brother was the same way. And it went far beyond Disney. Not a single picture of either of my kids with Santa.

Apparently America's oldest candy company will shut down soon if they don't find a buyer. Never had any of their candy. :cautious:

I grew up with that candy and it's still around . . . for now. Interesting to point out that their sales jumped 60% this past week or so, when people heard they might shut down. Some people were buying cases of Necco wafers.

This is RIDICULOUS. They’re almost the same price as Real Madrid!

Sorry T.. you’re not getting one. I’ll get him an FC Cincinnati ball cap and tee shirt. Not a jersey.
This kid is not even getting half of what he asked for.. but I’m not spending several hundreds of dollars on 3 jereseys/shorts and warmups!!

You'll find this funny....the Robin is still randomly banging into the window. :cautious:
Yes I did. Here is another bird story. A small bird about finch size managed to get through the netting on our catio. Apparently our Tigger must have spotted and pounced on it. Freaked it out. It laid on the floor of the catio. Ds saw that Tigger got it in his mouth and wanted to bring it in the house. He was quick and locked the cat door. I had to go on the deck and use the little door to get into the catio and try and get the bird. The bird was still alive. Tigger had dropped it and fluttered. I grabbed it gently and got it out of there. I put it in a little birdhouse we have in a pine tree. It was in there for a few hours, but when I checked in the evening and it was gone. So hope I saved a life.
I haven't had bangs in almost 30 years. :hilarious: My daughter often does this to my hair because it's waist length all the way around.

Someone once told me that in the spring the birds eat the berries that are still on the bushes. They have been out there all winter and have fermented, so basically the birds are drunk. Apparently, they never read the signs condemning drinking and flying. I always wondered about why birds tended to run into windows and directly into cars in the spring and of all the reasons I have heard that one made the most sense, so, I'm sticking with it.

Oh no, it lasted for over an hour. It was like it sat right over the park. I can take a little bit of lightning but it was crashing all around us. Everyone was very nervous. We didn’t want to run to catch the bus, we were afraid of getting struck. After an hour, it went away and we stayed in the park. Everyone that didn’t find shelter were soaked. We got in some inside things and shops but all the little outdoor food stands started closing. Hopefully, we won’t get any of that bad weather in May this year!

We've been at WDW several times in summer when we've had storms roll in and just disrupt everything with blowing rain and lighting for about a half hour or so. But, even after the heavy stuff cleared out, it would keep drizzling for the rest of the afternoon into evening. We always carry ponchos, so no worries with the lighter to medium rain, but, we always took cover for the heavy stuff.

I've posted this a coupla' times before, but, the last time I posted, I'm pretty sure a few of y'all weren't on this thread yet.
Anyway, we were in EPCOT Center ;) on our July of '04 trip (oldest DD had her 13th birthday while we were there :)) one afternoon when all thunderstorm heck broke out. We were near Innoventions East at the time so we took quick cover there.
We found a spot on the floor to just hang out, ride it out, and discuss what we were going to do after the deluge...no biggie. As it continued it intensified. The automatic doors kept opening with guests running in followed by blowing rain, and crashes of lightning every few seconds. Our springs here are notoriously known for severe t-storms, so we're pretty used to it. Us and the kiddos just took it in stride, and were trying to figure out the rest of the day from there.
But, there were several children, and even a few adults, crying during the worst of it.
Felt so bad for them. And, not judging. We live in a place were from about mid April to about mid June all t-storm heck can break out at any time so we're more used to it.
After about 30 minutes it relented.
But, it was still drizzling, so we donned our ponchos and headed back out to a pretty empty Park compared to a half hour before...! ;)

The man lived through the Great Depression. It wasn't a happy time. And, I would argue, is one of the best American authors. Give it a couple of years, and try East of Eden.

Yep, my great grandparents, and my grandparents, and my parents (to a lesser degree), lived through the Great Depression.
I've always loved The Grapes of Wrath book, and the 1939 movie with Henry Fonda is pretty good, too.
And yea, with all the stories I heard from my grandparents years ago, it was definitely NOT a previous "roaring twenties" happy time.
I wish more people would go back and study that history...not to be made to feel guilty at all, but, just to gain some actual real life perspective on things these days compared to back then...it can be quite sobering, actually... ;)

As some of you may recall, I am going to cruise out of Vancouver in late June. Tonight my wife came home from work with something for me. I'll load the photo :)That was a nice surprise from a good wife.View attachment 277386

It’s so stupid!! The other ones on his list are all $85-$95. He doesn’t know the price when he’s asking.. I didn’t realize the price when he asked! There’s no way that I’m doing it.

I hope you did too! Good job! :)
