Omg my supervisor just walked over to my desk and said "Oh you're out February 5?" Yes, I've had it on the calendar for a while now, I told her. That's my Disney trip. "You're going to Disney?" Yes. "Oh, I'm going that weekend. We just booked it this morning." K, guess my supervisor and I will be at WDW at the same time. :hilarious:

The biggest problem you may have is finding vegan food. I was full vegan when we took our Disney cruise in 2015. There were some options, but not a ton. Your family would for sure enjoy all the food. Dh didn't enjoy the cruise though, but for Castaway Cay. He felt like there were too many people onboard and there was no room to breathe. We had one of the bigger rooms, I think it was an 8a cabin. They have way more room than a regular family cabin and sleep 4. We had 2 rooms which increases the price considerably. I say the Disney cruises are more affordable when there are 5 or less people in one group, so that you only need the one room. Nonetheless, many of the other cruise lines are cheaper. Dh also didn't like the sit down dinners. He would have preferred the choice of a buffet for every meal.

With oldest DD being vegan, they were very accommodating. She enjoyed all of her meals.
Never felt like there were too many passengers and couldn't breathe, and we loved the sit down dinners, buffet, Guy's Burgers, etc.
And, as I posted before, oldest DD said that our aft balcony cabin had more storage and was a bit larger than same on the Disney Dream for their honeymoon cruise.
We may be cruising for a coupla' years 'til things like DHS are sorted.
We're hooked...!!!!!!! :joyfull:

So I just had to share....DS was at chess tonight and saw 2 boys picking on a girl and tried to break it up and ended up getting hit. He was VERY upset and did not want to talk about it, and he's a bit scared that he's going to get bullied at chess now and he doesn't want to have to quit chess, but I think it was super brave of him, considering everything he's been through. To see someone getting bullied and to stand up for them took so much courage for him. The instructor saw and broke it up and had them all talk it out, and it wasn't directed at DS in any way, he just got mixed up in it when he tried to stop them, so I don't think he's going to get bullied there. I just feel so bad that it happened and brought everything back, when he has been doing so so well. I hope chess can still feel like a safe place. But I'm so proud of him.

Congrats to your DS!

It was the lack of variety on the sit down menus. He also didn't like that you had to eat at a specific time. It was too structured in that regards I guess. I don't know why they don't keep the counter services eateries where they serve sandwiches and such near the pools open later. By the way thanks for mentioning that you may have to pay extra for even sodas on RCL. Does that include food areas which are not the main restaurants? Do you have to pay extra for snacks like ice cream?

We didn't mind the specific time, and the menus seemed pretty diverse. Plus, there was free food everywhere that was available pretty much all the time...the buffet, Guy's, pizza, sandwiches and paninis, ice cream, etc.
Here's an example of one of our dinner menus...!!! :hungry:

I went on a cruise shortly after those Sketchers Shape Ups came out. Their early iteration of those shoes was basically one of those yoga balls in the middle of your foot. The idea was that the ball of air provided instability, and your body would get a workout as your body tried to stabilize itself. It was also a week or two after I got home from Iraq, where I was not able to drink any alcohol.

So picture being heavily buzzed while wearing bubble shoes while on the ship in rougher seas :hilarious::hilarious::hilarious: I'd rather hit the treadmill. It felt like when you were a kid and you put on your grandmas glasses and looked at your feet!

Hahaaa...!
When I first started working at the Disney Store I wore all black Chuck Taylor's. Great shoes, but, nothing you want to be on your feet in for a several hour shift. Uncomfortable.
I was talking to one of the ASMs at the time about needing different shoes, and he asked if I wanted an all black pair of the Sketchers that he had only worn twice and didn't like.
He called them "Frankenstein shoes"...!!! :hilarious:
Yep, they were a bit awkward at first, but, my foot pain disappeared, and I grew to love them...they worked for me.
I still have them, but, they're pretty destroyed, so I only use them for yardwork now.
