Well, I went to work because we had a long meeting today from 12-5. Now I'm completely exhausted. There was a dinner afterward, but I told them I needed to get some rest. Belle is now on my lap. I'm honestly ready to get some sleep now.

I have an appointment with my allergist tomorrow to make sure he's okay with my change in meds and to see how long he thinks I should stay on the antibiotic and steroids. I'm debating just working from home tomorrow after the appointment. Work is fine with it, and considering how wiped I am...yeah.
Good luck with the appointment and GWS xoxo

I went outside to do a quick shovel at 3pm. I came back in at 4:10! At that point we had about 8 inches and it was (and still is) snowing. At one point it was coming down at about an inch per hour. The snow is really wet and heavy and the plow had come by once, which is why I went out to shovel, so the bottom of our driveway was at least double the depth of the rest of the driveway. I should probably go out and shovel one more time before bed but my body is aching and I'm using the excuse that my coat and gloves are still soaked. I guess I will just wake up early tomorrow and do some shoveling.

I only have to work tomorrow morning until 11:30 then I'm taking hubs to the dr. for an x-ray and hopefully an all clear to start walking without the boot. So I can do any clean up shoveling after that. Ugh, why do I live here again. Anyone want to come and help shovel? It is fun....:cautious:
Sympathy like but I'm taking a sick day. All I have to do is pack lunches and sleep. I cooked most of the weekend so the boys won't starve if I do

I saw this type of stuff being reported too. It seems as is this kind of behavior is prided by the eagles fans, and I really don't understand that. Even if it wasn't directed at fan of the team I follow I still don't think people should be afraid or have to prepare for a riot to go watch a football (or any sporting) game. Yet this type of story seems to be perpetual for Philly teams. I think it is unacceptable. Some other cities have this reputation as well, when Hubs and I have gone to Wrigley to see the Cubs he has warned me not to wear any Twins stuff especially in the bleachers section.

I remember a couple years ago my husband (who is a Bears fan) went to Lambeau Field in Green Bay for a Packer/Bears game. He said that the guy next to him teased him a little in a good natured way about being a Bears fan in a sea of Packer fans, but it was as a joke and later the guy shared his BBQ pork nachos with hubs. Hubs has worn Cubs paraphernalia to MN Twins games and never had anything said or thrown at him.

It is sad when people can't treat visiting fans with respect. It is just a game. But I guess I shouldn't be surprised sometimes respect is lacking in other areas as well.
What's sad is that it isn't even restricted to pro games, or do the home teams. When I was in college, our rival was CSU. I avoided the CSU vs UW games because it was notorious for turning ugly. One of our marching band members ended up in the hospital when a CSU fan threw a beer bottle at them. And it was on OUR campus. One year, CSU celebrated their win by rushing the field, knocking over a goal post, and charging our fans with it. Everyone knew not to go to those games if you wanted to be safe. The marching band had no choice....they HAD to go. I just wish people would hold themselves to a higher standard at sporting events.

In my high school, my graduating class was 144 and we knew everyone. There were different sections through elementary school based on ability, but it would fluctuate based on classes. Like I was always in the high reader group for Reading/English but in the low group for Math. In High School we only had AP History and English so I took those but we had been divided up in middle school for math. If as an 8th grader you took pre-Algebra then you were in the high level math classes in high school. I think my mom made the school put me in pre-Algebra in 8th grade, so I was in the higher level/college bound track through high school. My mom also only let me take classes in high school that would be good for college. I wanted to take Home Ec and she said it wasn't worth it, I already knew how to cook so I should take Economics. There wasn't really arguing with her so I did. I also wanted to take French and she said if I wanted an allowance I would take Spanish and that I would use Spanish more than French. Mom was right I have used Spanish, and now I'm teaching myself French on Duolingo. She did let me take choir my senior year, probably because I had fulfilled my math credits and she knew as well I did that Calculus was not for me. :)
Well, we did split up in elementary school. We had 3 homeroom classes for each grade, so they split the classes up for different subjects...when it was time for math, you would go to the teacher who taught your level. Same with reading, phonics, etc. I was in the high level group for Math, and either the low group or the middle group for reading...it wasn't my strong suit. I could keep up, but I wasn't winning any awards. English grammar I rocked. I always messed up the curve for everyone else...even the girl who was top in EVERYTHING couldn't beat me at grammar. But put a book in my hands and I was slow as molasses in January. I could spell, I could do math, I LOVED science in Elementary school, but I hated reading. Our secondary school was a Jr. Sr. high combined. So in 7th grade, it was all standard classes, but 8th grade was the beginning of the advanced math. 8th grade year, I took Algebra with the freshman, as a Freshman, I had Geometry with the Sophomores, etc. But our school did the 4X4....you had to have 4 math credits, 4 science credits, 4 social studies credits, and 4 English credits...so you had to take those core classes every year to graduate and it was a set curriculum. ALL sophomores had World Studies for Social studies, and Biology for Science and Geometry for math (unless you were in advanced) and Sophomore level English. There were no alternatives like in the next town over. They had sciences like psychology, they had English classes like Poetry, or shakespeare. We only had the standard Freshman level, sophomore level, etc. And social studies was Geography, World Studies, American History, and Government/Economy, in that order. If we had had advanced English, I would have done that. I'm sorry your mom forced you into things you'd rather not do...we didn't really have much choice in our school. Because of the 4X4 with set classes for each year, plus 2 years of PE, we only had a couple of electives each year and there weren't many things offered. We had shop class, we had a computer lit class, home ec, choir, band, art, Spanish and German. We got a speech and debate class one year...that was awesome. And you could take independent study photography, which was basically just taking pictures for the yearbook, but I don't think they actually ever learned about real photography. I took choir every year, I took spanish freshman year, and German the other 3 years because I hated the Spanish teacher (who was also my World Studies teacher). And I took Zero hour band before school my freshman year and then quit. But those were my options. I wanted to do Art, but the teacher was totally crazy...and her rules were ridiculous! Like, no bathroom passes, ever...you HAD to go before class. If you were sick, you would not be given a pass to go to the nurse, unless you threw up, but if you threw up, you had to clean it up yourself AND you got a detention. Late slips from other teachers would not be accepted as an excuse for being late...if your teacher from your last class kept you late, you got a detention. I don't even think most of her rules would have been allowed if anyone knew them...how can you give a kid detention for being sick? I transferred to home ec after 2 days because it just didn't seem worth it, and the only other option was shop/ag and I had zero interest in that. Maybe my limited and very "vanilla" high school education is why I like the Dutch system so much more...there are so many more options we just didn't have and it's tailored to your own level. I would have LOVED that. I loved the Calculus class environment even though I didn't like the subject matter....everyone in the class was there because they were motivated and they were good at math. It was a tiny class where we didn't have discipline problems at all, the teacher never had to get mad because someone didn't do their homework, and he didn't have to cover the same material 3 times because someone didn't get it. If one of us didn't get it, we just went to his desk and he explained it again while the others worked on their homework assignment. It was SOOOO nice. And the schools here are all geared toward a specific level, so every class is more like that...you won't have VMBO level kids in the same math class as a VWO kid. Every class is given at your level. That would have been my dream in high school..not to have classes with the kids who picked on me for being "a brain", and to have classes that were really INTERESTING instead of learning the same thing all the time.

I thought about renting a small RV for a trip to Disney, just to see if we liked that. The deluxe sites were about $100 a night. I've got my room, bathroom and kitchen all in one spot. No kids running in their room at 6am the floor above you. No smoker hacking up his lungs at 3am (yes, he was that loud - I was going to go next door and knock, just to make sure he wasn't dying). The sites have a picnic table. But then I bought DVC. 😀
I love the Cabins for their peacefulness. I like that I don't have to worry about neighbors. Our next trip we are doing a split stay between the Cabins and the Double Tree on Resorts Blvd. Taking advantage of the EMH they are offering this year. Wanted to try something different as well, plus we could not say no to the deal they were offering. We figured with our large family and the kids getting bigger, more space for a few days might be a good thing.:)
