When I was checking out cruises for way too long yesterday, a Royal Caribbean went to Havana on an itinerary.

I honestly have lost track if 'we' are allowed to travel to Cuba as tourists anymore. I knew there was a group educational non degree clause spoken to this summer as the beginning of the end of tourist travel to Cuba once again, I knew it was to go into play in Early November but honestly I had so much going on in my life I kinda deliberately avoided the News for November and December as I really didn't need any more distractions. I wonder if cruises are a back door 'cause you are not staying in their hotels for a vacation?

Today I finally had my long awaited appointment with the cardiologist. For those who might not remember past circumstances, I was recommended to a cardiologist back in October after I underwent cataract surgery on my right eye. During the procedure my heart recorded an irregular beat. Possible AFIB was the question. My 2nd cataract surgery was then postponed.

The cardiologist visit today was very thorough. However, I have not been officially diagnosed as having AFIB. I still need a few more tests. A stress test, and a 48 hour Holter monitor. My recent electrocardiogram, and echocardiogram, have all been normal.

I officially put off my cataract surgery until sometime in the Spring. The Cardiologist was more than willing to give me clearance, but why the rush? Chicago weather is brutal, and I'd be the unlucky one to wake up surgery morning to a foot of snow on the ground, or below zero temps, and a blizzard. So I'm waiting.

I really liked the cardiologist. We touched on all angles of this entire scenario, and we may end up discovering this has all just been one huge mistake. However, I'll sleep better at night knowing what I don't have. So keep your fingers crossed for some more good test results.
Maybe its not your hearth and is related to some of the medicines, chemicals or things used in you during the cataract surgery?

I can remember ice storms in Florida and the orange groves with all the oranges encased in ice.

I remember this.
They lost a huge portion of the entire orange season because of the cold temps.
There was chaos because of the loss. Was it in 2004?

This one was 2006. The farmers sprayed water on the oranges to keep them from being exposed to the 20 degrees it fell to. Seems like it happens every 5 years or so but not usually that extreme.

May you get nothing but good news from your doc. I think putting off the surgery may be a smart move considering the weather.

The weatherman like to stir up trouble for this upcoming snow storm. What is a bomb cyclone? And a bombgensis or whatever it was?

Excerpt below copied (online) from ABC News yesterday, 6:54 PM --

, , , It is then forecast to head North, where there is the potential for the storm to become a "bomb cyclone" as it strengthens off the New England coast on Thursday. Very heavy snow, hurricane-force gusts and blizzard conditions are all possible in this scenario.

Very seriously!!! Everybody bundle up and go outside only when you cannot avoid it through the weekend. The snow along the coast is supposed to be a bit extreme at times and even if you don't get the snow the wind chills may be record breaking. Please be safe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
