There is going to be more one meaning of Polar Bear Plunge on New Year's Day. Frozen custard stand founded by Elsa has Polar Bear Plunge as one of the two Frozen Custard Flavor's of the Day for New Year's Day.

The Frozen Custard version of Polar Bear Plunge is Peppermint Custard with Oreo Cookies, White Ribbons, Cream, and Peppermint Schnapps. It will be sold in a Pint, Quart, Half Gallon besides being in a cone, or a Dish.

I will not be going to that stand on New Years Day though. I'm saving room for Fried Mushrooms, Baked Potato, grilled Porterhouse steak, lobster tail, and Hawaiian rolls:hungry:.

As I am researching cars (which is my life now) I decided to look into the Chevys just for the heck of it.

I went to the section about the interior. I was trying to find out whether the interior was fabric, leather, etc. I was going through the bullet points...and one was "Steering Wheel". Nothing after that, just "Steering wheel." So apparently, that car has a steering wheel.

Good to know. :hilarious:

It's been horribly cold but at least we really haven't had much snow so far

We haven't had a great deal of snow either just 3 storms in a week. It is so freak'n cold it is icy on the roads and the little salt they have put down isn't helping. Where they put a good coat the road is almost dry. Frustrating.

We went to Meijer today, a store we don't frequent 'cause there isn't one around. We needed circle pretzels. Shows how desperate we were for someplace warm to walk around (its big) Not like we can head to a mall or Ikea cause they are loaded with people seeking sanctuary from the cold and the lots are a mess. I just could not get warm when we got back. My DD years ago made us all double thick 7 foot long throw blankets. It isn't fleece, it looks similar but much softer and more fluffy with cute prints (needs to be sewn not tied) I had that doubled over me, a sweater on, slippers and I was still cold. We live here why????

Hello Golden Girls (and honorary guys) condo! Hope @Goofyernmost warmed up.

Ha!

I guess a steering wheel is worth investing in. Are you having fun with it? My DD today was investigating Instant Pot cookers today and recipes. I guess we let a kitchen appliance get past us...we didn't know. Now her quest is which would be best out of the various sizes and bells and whistles.

My sons car is leather, mine is some type of fabric, DD is dry rotted something.
I've had them all from leather to vinyl. I still land back at fabric unless the leather is heated/cooled. My last truck had leather and I seemed to always have a towel on the seat, like Goldilocks too hot, too cold.

I am having fun with it, but the more research I do, the more I keep coming back to my original idea: new 2018 Toyota Camry. I loved that car in SC, so I know I like driving it. It covers several of the features I want. For instance, I definitely want a car with power adjustable seats so I can see over the dashboard to drive. I do NOT want cloth seats. There's the option for leather, but the Camrys also have another option called Softex which is a leather-like synthetic not made from animals that is cheaper. I would be fine with that. Auto transmission - covered. I liked the amount of trunk space. I would pay for an additional feature package that includes additional safety features and remote keyless entry. Even though I would like to have a sunroof, I'm being good and prioritizing safety features.

I also found out some interesting information. For instance, I definitely want a 2018 Camry, not a 2017 because the Camry underwent a major redesign for 2018. I also don't want the Corolla because it hasn't had the redesign yet and likely won't have the same feel that I liked in the Camry.

I found out some necessary information, like that I will qualify on my own (my parents will not cosign a loan), and that Toyota is currently running a 0% APR offer plus $1500 cash on new Camrys. I also found out that I really should buy a car this year and take advantage of the discounts as a recent college grad.

Also, in case you're interested, I found out that all Chevy Malibus have steering wheels. Evidently, that is very important for cars to have.

We hope to have the entire bay view for us. I will take video for sure.

Sounds wonderful. I bet that is awesome. Can't wait to see the video.

The Pier here is a bay but not your type of bay. It was a Naval Pier back in the day and a awesome place to visit now by day and nightlife. A hotel constructed at the end. But as always if needed the pier can be taken back by the military if need be just like the Naval training center due North of it that is now a mix of shopping, dining and townhomes all mixed together. (I'd love to live there in the summer months.)

Ha! Don't you wonder who is proof'n their marketing??? It is so fun buying your first new car. I genuinely loved my Mustang and my Sis sent it Flowers the day she was no more. A sad day but she was with me so long and still looked so pretty though her inners had seen the day. My DS had so much fun buying his first new car and it is really pretty. DD keeps feeling the tug and resisting, only
40,000 on a 20 year old car that doesn't have any rust and runs beautifully though she wishes now she had 4x4. When she has to travel for work in the snow or heat I send her in my truck. She is starting Grad School in a few weeks so it is that ying and yang and she 98% of the time works from her apartment now for her career job and only 4 miles to the part time job. The insurance is cheap so I understand her wavering back and forth.

Have fun and if you can go to an Auto Show.

We got a few inches last night!! Nobody was expecting snow so when it started we were all like well that's nice we'll get a dusting.... But by the time I went to bed everything was covered with at least two inches. My friend was flying out tonight and was stuck in the runway for five hours :jawdrop::jawdrop:

I fail to grasp why they dont bring them back to the gate. If the weather is that bad they need to be de-iced again. What the heck.

Our stay in the Efteling was great. The house had 6 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms so plenty of space for all. Our house was the left half of this building.

A bench near our house, it says The Big Bad Wolf was here.

Some of the other houses you can rent at Bosrijk.

That is beyond beautiful. What a great get away place for a family Christmas. Good times, good memories.

We have a very sunny morning today! However, when I let Kapono out it was -15 with a real feel (with windchill) of -35. Now it is -11 but feels like -32. I do not plan to go outside at all today.

No sun here today but we had the strong winds too. Nasty. I remember last December was the same. The next week or two doesn't look much better. Making us want to bolt yet again. She is calling me HOME hard. and it has only been 3 weeks.

I think they were like, "Well, what can we say about the car's interior?" "Well, let's look...hmm...steering wheel..." "Well, we don't have much else to mention, so mention the steering wheel."

They could have said "Leather appointed steering wheel" or something along those lines. Which is what other car manufacturers listed. But nope. Just: "Steering wheel".

I'm grateful my husband put the car in the garage when the snow started!! It's certainly more than a dusting here, too!!

I think the forecasters in Ohio just throw darts and "predict" whatever weather they land on:hilarious::hilarious:

My Sis comes home after a couple weeks on Monday. I so wonder what Lake Erie has done to her home being almost ontop of the lake. They have a Guy Friday-I hope they had him watching after the property like he does in the summer. She also has a home in Lake Chautauqua, NY that might not be much better. Their condo in the Keys got hit by Irma. Thinking not their year for weather.
