Can't really explain it, but there's certainly enough room for 2 adults in a full or double, whatever you call it nowadays. (I never actually measured the mattress, but it might be that the sizes could slightly differ in a hotel mattress, versus a home one.)

My parents also had a full/double mattress for many years. Queens and kings became more popular down through the years, but quite a few people still use a full/double. (Neither one of us is tall either, so maybe two people who were 6 feet each, might need a queen or king mattress.)

Nope. Nope. Nope. ;)

Hahaaa...!
I googled Carnival the morning we got back into the Port of Galveston...best I could tell, they have 27 ships...!!!!!!! :jawdrop:
Hmmm... :cautious:
Maybe that should be our goal for the next several years...check 'em all off the list...!!!!!!! :hilarious: ;)
As far I know, they have more ships because they own other brands. Carnival is just one of the big corporation.

If I remember correctly, they own carnival, Holland America Group and Costa Group, which in turns control ships of : AIDA, Carnival, Costa, Cunard, Fathom, Holland america Line, P&O, Princess Cruises and SeaBourn.

That's really awful about the airport. Luckily, I've never been there when it was that bad. It does sound like they're pushing the envelope on fire code with all those people inside.

We have met some very respectful TSA employees and others that just seem to like to mess with travelers. You stand in line long enough and you start to notice the twits from the professionals. Coming home we shuffled it a tight pack of travelers for just over an hour and clearly posted 15 minute wait as your documents/id were being viewed. I understand and appreciate the security however they really need to get some of all this streamlined. Is there an inherent risk of a paper receipt worthy of an in-depth screening and calling the traveler out for clearly not feeling the receipt in the back pocket? Thinking the employees need to be evaluated and watched for quality screening vs utilizing power they have in these unique ways. I've seen it all and you really can quickly pick out the real good professional ones, likely how the same professional ones can pick out which travelers they might warrant a further look.

And yes body to body, heel to toe, shoulder to shoulder that is too many humans per square foot in the section MCO has devoted to TSA screening.

My grandma was planning on spending the night here and going home today. She's going home tomorrow. It snowed an inch here, but three up where she lives, and the roads are apparently super icy. So she's still here.

In other news, I found out I prequalify for a loan on a Toyota, AND because I graduated less than two years ago, I can get a $750 rebate.

So the next thing to do will be to talk to work. I'll ask them if they're going to renew my contract or convert me to an employee. I know that they want to keep me, and I honestly am fine with staying with the agency if they need to keep me in my current position (though I will tell the agency to negotiate a raise for me). But if they're thinking they want to move me around, that's even better.
CONGRATS and enjoy your company

Honestly, I think for us, it was better to transition early. DD was just over a year, too, because I was due with our son in 6 months and we needed the crib for him. We wanted to make sure she really had time to get use to a real bed. It went so well, and then I think DS was about 2, because we were going to Disney that summer and knew we needed him to get used to a bed because we wouldn't have cribs everywhere. We were going to my brother's wedding and staying with friends and family on the whole trip, and none of them had little ones, so we needed to transition him. Never had a problem, and I hated having to pull them out of the crib as they got bigger...the side didn't lower, so you had to pull them out over the top and man was that hard when they got heavier!! What is it that you like about the crib? I honestly couldn't wait to get them OUT of the crib!

Back in the day our crib mattresses was adjustable high as a newborn, lower as they grew. Our side dropped. (we had bumper pads too and often slept on their tummies) So many things have changed. A friend of mine DD had a baby this summer, she is 6 months old. The DD has her doctoral in nursing. She has seen it all. Her baby is hooked up to a monitor anytime she is asleep or out of sight. The type of monitor that is usually used for high risk preemie babies or other type of high risk infants which her baby was not, a normal weight and full term. But having seen it all she is a very cautious new Mom. My DD was in the NIC unit when she was born and it was a difficult couple days but everything was fine. It is interesting to see how parenting evolves over generations and listen to the stories of my Mom one of 12 siblings grew up. If one still needed the only crib the infant slept in a dresser drawer on a pillow.
