Post away! :) I like seeing the Carnival ships I haven't been on compared to the ones I have.

I looked into the Double Tree and the Best Western and they looked nice but in the end it would be more expensive for the two of us then staying at the All Stars. We would need to rent a car and that negated any savings of staying off property. We don't mind the All Stars it is just a place to sleep and cleanup ourselves. In fact I asked hubby if he wanted to book a preferred room and when I told him the price difference (it was like $224) of a preferred and standard he said no, he said that money could be used for food at good places. We have the motto of "we stay cheap so we can EAT!"
I booked the Double Tree for half of our stay. For 4 nights the week of Memorial Day, from Tues- Sat, it was $760. That is for 6 people. Couldn't say no to the savings. We would need 2 rooms for an All Star, and there goes any savings. Hated the All Star Music as you may remember from my trip report. We'll see how this goes.

Mrs Ferret just said she would like to look at another disney cruise in 2019.

That would be awesome for y'all, and I hope y'all can make it happen!!! :)
We, of course, originally looked at a DCL cruise first, but, for the 6 of us, it was off-the-charts :greedy::greedy::greedy: compared to the Carnival one we did!!!!!!!
I've posted before that oldest DD and SonIL did a combined 3-day (or maybe 4 day - hey, I've slept since then :cyclops: ;)) DCL cruise and 3-day WDW trip for their honeymoon back in '14.
They loved both, of course, but raved up one side and down the other about the DCL cruise!!! :)
But, they also had nothing but praise for this family cruise, as well.
We really want to go on a DCL cruise at some point, but, if we would have done one this time, there is no way we would be going on another cruise 6 months from now...this time with 10 of us...!!!!!!!!!!! ;)

Anyway, cheers!!! :)
I'm sure y'all will make it happen, and we hope to cruise DCL someday, as well...!!! :)

We were shocked as to how inexpensive the dcl cruise was lol. When our Ta gave us the price we thought it was per cabin rather than for both.
We may end up back in Norway as we would do a cruise that starts and ends in Dover. Much easier to ferry across from our island and then drive down.

You were a saint for having moved to another country for your dh and putting up with all that, but not having close family here, I can see why you did.
Oh, I'm definitely NOT a saint, and I got very frustrated quite often. I finally told my husband that if we didn't have our own place in 6 months, I wanted to go home because I could not live like that. I wanted to have our own space, our own stuff, privacy, eat what we wanted WHEN we wanted to eat, go out when we wanted to go out, I wanted kids...I wanted to live OUR lives and not have everything dictated to us. It took longer than I wanted, but here we are, happy in our own place with our kids. Now it's great and we have a really good relationship with his parents. (most of the time) I'm glad to be here now. It was just a bit of a rough start.

Wow!
When DWifey and our DDs priced it out, a DCL cruise, same length, same room locations with verandas, same time of year, etc., was more than 3 times what we payed for this cruise...!!!!!!! :greedy::greedy::greedy:
It appears we may need the name of your TA...!!!!! ;)

I had all the same issues with the crib (the cribs with the side that lowers is illegal here) but I liked how safely confined the crib made her. She took to the toddler bed pretty well, and even now at almost three she stays in bed, but I had so much more peace of mind when she was in a crib.

And I had a place I could put her and walk away when I was feeling overwhelmed. I miss that. The older she gets the less I need it because I can reason with her now, but my husband travels a lot so I single mom a lot, and I could have used that for at least another half a year.
Yeah, that is definitely something I think I probably take for granted sometimes...having my husband to help me. When I have overwhelming days, I can hand it over to him when he gets home. And like now, for example, when I'm sick and have a fever, he's doing the shopping and the cooking...And that's a luxury that not everyone has. You are amazing for what you do.

A similar cruise on another line may have been cheaper but it was not as bad as expected.

I'm not too thrilled to be at the Music, I wasn't a fan of the layout of the resort and it feels the least Disney to me. I like the Movies and Sports better out of the All Stars. Perhaps when discounts come out one of those will be cheaper and I will switch but it was about $16 less a night at the Music which since this will be our 14 night trip adds up to money we can use for something else.

The Double Tree does look nice. There is plenty of time for me to keep looking but I just wanted to get something in case rates increase or sell out.

Well we are 6, and you are just 2, plus we drive so we don’t need a rental. I did forget to mention that I got a special rate by going through Mousesavers(hope I can say that). It got free continental breakfast for 4 of us and the better room rate than the one you probably saw by just going through Hilton’s site. We will need to pay $28 for the other 2, but that is not bad.
