I've been watching the wait times all morning paired up with my touring plan and I think we're going to be okay. I will say though that I am FLOORED at how many people are waiting in the standby lines when there are available fast passes for some of these attractions.

Like you can grab a fastpass for Pooh right now or you can wait for 30+ minutes in the queue.
You will be astounded how many people don't know about fp, and are very flustered about how crowded it is. And then, DH can be very appreciative of all your planning and research before.

I have been reading that many have not found out about preordering through MDE, and I plan to capitalize on that. My only worry is, we won't be waiting so long for food, but what if we can't find seats once we have food? Oh well, me and a 19 yr old, we will figure it out.

Some of you may remember that we have plans to see Savannah 12/ 26 and arrive at Atlanta on the afternoon of 12/27 and leave Atlanta the morning of 12/29
Here's the thing i just discovered. On 12/29 when I am scheduled to drive us (family of 3)from Atlanta all the way back to Brick NJ.... the current forecast calls for 70% chance of snow in Virginia and 60% chance of snow in Baltimore and NJ. Current prediction is for 3 to 5 inches. The following day Brick NJ's forecast is for snow showers w/ gradual clearing.

WHAT WOULD YOU DO???

No matter how anyone rationalizes it, it is so unfair that my son has to work both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Groceries store do not need to be open on the holidays. When is my son supposed to celebrate Christmas? The world sure has gotten stupid, and greedy in so many ways. My blood pressure is probably sky high at the moment, after my son just broke this news to me.
Oh, I am sorry to hear this. I know now that it is big business doing full meal catering, it makes sense from a business stand point to just open the whole store. But, I also would think that it would be reasonable to close by noon on Christmas. At the very least, I wish the person scheduling wouldn't have people on for both days, unless they volunteered. Any way he could trade a shift?

I hope he will be appreciative!! And I really hope he has some fun!

I read a blogger that ordered online for Aloha Isle and when they got there the online order line was 50 deep. That's what they wrote, but I'm not sure if they were exaggerating or not. I'm with you on this though. I'm hoping most people don't know about ordering their food online!

I am pretty sure it isn't. That line can get crazy long. Of course last time I was there, it hadn't moved yet. Good news is, the line moves pretty fast. Bad news, I am sure when you pick up from preorder, you get some dirty looks. I can live with that. Especially if I am enjoying a dole whip float!

I'm no longer planning on getting a dole whip, LOL. If we can make it to Aloha, I want to grab one of those new pineapple upside down cake things with the dole whip on top. Best of all, I only have to share with my kid, because my husband is allergic!

I'm sure they weren't exaggerating. The holidays are packed. That's why standby lines can be insanely long.

Just plan for the possibility of having to stop someplace in between Atlanta and NJ. Many times those forecasts are incorrect and also quite general in scope. The area you are driving in may have no snow at all. The further south you go the less reliable those snow forecasts are. Just go until you don't feel comfortable driving anymore. If you get to that find a place to stay and just chill.

The only real concern I would have is if you are leaving from Atlanta and decide to go on I-81 through Pennsylvania that is all mountains, if your cutting across to hit I-95 you stand a better chance of not having problems, and on the plus side also there are a lot more accommodations in the event you need them. On the down side 95 has a lot more traffic.
Oh yes. I-81 is super windy and hilly. Beautiful in the summer, but I would not want to drive it in a storm. Less traffic on it than I-95, but since you are on the coast in NJ, it would take you too far out of the way. @SteveBrickNJ

I think I'm going to book a hotel in Fredericksburg VA for Fri. night.
So Fri. morning leave Atlanta and travel 590 miles to Fredericksburg VA
Sat. morning leave Fredericksburg VA and travel the remaining 253 miles to Brick NJ

I can just put that in place and then cancel it if the weather forecast changes
Opinions anyone?
^^^^This edit just saw the forecast, stay off 80 once it gets hilly. You may add miles to your trip but will add years to your life.
