only 49??
what a steal for such long trip!
Yep! That's per way, so $100 round trip from Tel Aviv to Millan and back. Other cities in Europe from Tel Aviv are also less than $100 per way.

A EuroRail pass for four countries is something like $300 and includes ferries all you can travel for a month. A two week pass is less. It's even less if you limit it to two or three countries.

I'll probably do the Euro part of my trip during my last month there and work while I'm Israel as well. I'm going to have to find a roommate who I can trust with my cat.

I'm seriously thinking about doing the couchsurfing thing while in Europe. I can host European travelers to Israel at my place, give them a free tour of Jerusalem, and take them out to the clubs and party scene in Tel Aviv (if they're into that) in return that they host me at their places in Europe. For a free place to stay and locals to show you around, I think this idea is definately worth looking into!

Still, Lenovo was the one who allowed their machines to be shipped with the software. And they also could have sent users such as me, who registered their computer with them, an email saying, "This is what's going on"

I downloaded a program from Lenovo that removed the software. It's all gone. I ran a before and after speed test on my internet. Before PING: 23 Download: 20 mbps Upload: 15 mbps. After: PING: 12 Download: 27 mbps Upload: 23 mbps. It was really slowing down my computer. I suspected that it was running slowly, but couldn't figure out the reason. Now I know.
did you test almost in the same time or during the same day?

No
I can eat breakfast food at any time.
But lunch and dinner-type food before 1:00 - nuh-uh. (Usually not before 3:00. :))
Me too.

I must have breakfast first in the day. Even if it's a Pop Tart or something. Then later, I can have lunch type food.

I have been known to eat a brownie or cookie first thing in the morning. My thought: why is a chocolate doughnut acceptable for breakfast but a brownie is not? So I will eat sweets first thing.

But sandwiches, pizza, or even my favorite, Utz chips? Not before I've had my cereal. Or my pastry. Or my cookie.

They also have a Burning Man festival in the Negev desert, just like how they do each year in the Nevada desert. So, I absolutely gotta do that and buy my tickets before I leave Florida. They also have a 2-day techno rave music festival in Aqaba, Jordan. Aqaba shares a border with the Israeli resort city of Eilot all the way down south at the Red Sea. Eilot also shares a border with the Egyptain resort city Taba.

Hey, you only live once, right? If I don't do it now, I'll regret not doing it for the rest of my life...

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
When the GF's mom was over tonight delivering the gift, I noticed that her left index finger was all bandaged up. When I asked what she'd done, all she said was that she'd cut it.
After they had left, and I'd later driven the GF home, Son #2 tells me that she sliced the tip of her finger off last night, requiring half a dozen stitches ... making my gift! :arghh:
Seriously, why would he tell me that? I would have taken that secret to my grave. She certainly didn't want me to know. Nor did the GF.

Anyway, I present the lovely, thoughtful gift, which now means even more to me.

There's one thing that I found odd this time. Notice the fellow with the rope, whistling. He used to be and should be looking at the dog. That is the reason he is doing what he is doing, to entice the dog to come over to him. Why is he looking straight ahead and not at the dog? Did someone screw up when they redid the ride? He also used to be described as the "white" haired guy. He must have had time out of the cell to go to the salon and get his hair dyed red(?) Is he the redhead that those others are clamoring for?

Hmm! Could have sworn that I was having a Deja Vu moment there, but, couldn't be because that was all about the Peace Corps. Oh, well... have fun.
You know, it was either that or this. It's a good thing I decided to slow down and think about what I was about to do. The other thing was totally unplanned and was considered out of sheer emotion - not the way you make big decisions in life. I think what I am doing now will have a positive effect on my future, in addition to all the fun and adventure.

You know what, Peter... Don't ever decide that it might be a good idea to become a spy, you are awful at hiding your identity. You wouldn't last a week. But, shalom.

In other news, a little irritated with Lenovo.

A program that they preinstalled on the computer turned out to be malware. It needed to be uninstalled. I suspected something weird was going on with my computer and thought that it was running more slowly than it should be for a two month old computer, but my cleaner didn't pick it up nor did Windows Defender.

And of course, it's one of the programs that I didn't immediately uninstall when I got the computer.

Of course, I'm registered to Lenovo and my laptop is registered and the model was on the list of affected machines. But did I get an email from Lenovo when they found out about it with instructions for removing the malware? Nope. I found out through Facebook.

This is the first machine I've gotten from Lenovo. I like my computer so far, but this makes me question whether I want to get another Lenovo.

Wow. So Lenovo KNEW that some machines were affected and didn't even notify the buyers of their computers, or put out some sort of general alert/notification? I hope they get sued.
