I always go to Olive Garden's at least once everytime I go to the USA.
I really like their breadsticks and their fried shrimp platter.

Maybe you should try Red Lobster next time. Nice shrimp and awesome rolls.

Gravy is an art-form that I've come very close to perfecting after decades. Some gravies are beyond delicious others You can tell by just the picture your Mom knows what she is doing. Kudos to her.

MIL makes an awesome giblet gravy, and DWifey makes good gravy too...I think there's a gravy-making gene...!!!

We just got back from Coco. We looooved it! The story was fantastic. It was really well thought out. There were twists that I did not forsee. Pixar just keeps outdoing itself with the animation as well. Incredible! The historical aspects were very interesting. I am sure @Cesar R M can let us know if they got these historical elements correct. I will say that you should bring tissues if you are mildly sentimental. Apparently I am. (Dh too).

The Frozen short was okay but it was not memorable. There were some cute moments though.

After the film we went to a local restaurant in the area of the theater. I was quite pleased with my veggie enchilada. Dh got a combo steak/chicken fajita.

You can actually check the "making of coco" video in youtube. It explains why it took them 6 years to make COCO.

The characters you see next to Ernesto de la Cruz in the other world are famous mexican cultural icons. Like Frida Kahlo (hilarious)

De la Cruz himself is based on 2 famous singers mixed together (Pedro Infante and Jorge Negrete)

Honestly, if I wanted to indulge in only sea food. I usually swim right into Papadeux. Love there!

But I shall try Red Lobster next time. ( I wonder if there is one in Houston)

I was out voted on the turkey this year, there will be 12 of us for Christmas dinner and we are out most day so we will do raclette in the evening. It is easy and we can have lots of different food to suit everyone's tastes. Still going to miss my turkey thou

Same story that happens to a lot of folks - job was eliminated at the end of last year and was blessed with a great opportunity to relocate to Indy, closer to family and friends, and work for an amazing company. Looked for a while and finally got some horse property here in September, not near as much acreage, but it’s all good, We’re just happy that we landed on our feet - a lot of folks weren’t as fortunate....

Oreos I'll get the mint ones, or I use them to make crust for cheesecake, but chips ahoy I can't stand...chocolate chip cookies should be soft and chewy, not crunchy.

Yep, that is the way my mother has always made them and I always got to lick the bowl...!!!!!!!

I hate seafood, but hubs loves it. I offer quite often to go to Red Lobster when we eat out because of those biscuits. I know there would be a landlubber dish I could enjoy I would go from time to time with my mom. But hubs won't go to Red Lobster, I just don't get it he loves seafood. Anyway, when I was at Wal-mart today I saw a box mix of the Red Lobster biscuits and made a spur of the moment purchase. I think I will make them this week. I hope they are close to the actual restaurant version since they are Red Lobster brand.

There shrimp is quite good. I love fish but Red Lobster has been dumb'd down so much, mostly cheaper fish offerings or lobster tails the size of your thumb. But the Fried Shrimp is very good, biscuits to die for and the salad isn't bad.
