@figmentfan423 , are you cooking yet for today? It's 4:30 AM, and I assumed you'd probably be cooking something or other now. Does your hubs cook the turkey? I vaguely recall you have a smoker--will he use that?

We don't have a smoker, so Friday when I cook our turkey, I just use the oven. It's very easy. I just looked at the label on the turkey and It's only a little over 2 pounds. :)
Ha cooking was started before then. The ham is on the smoker and a turkey is going in in a bit. It has something to do with the mix of wood. The oven turkey doesn't go in for a while. I've got the gravy simmering for the baked ziti which was added to the list yesterday:banghead: After today no cooking for a week:inlove::inlove::inlove::inlove::inlove::inlove:

Happy Day, Turkey!! Er...happy Turkey Day! Hope everyone has a great time with family and friends. I'm making the closest thing I can to Thanksgiving, here. But we don't have pumpkin pie and I don't have the energy to make one from scratch today. I have to work tonight, and it's busy enough that they are asking us all to come in early. So...have some pumpkin pie for me.

I got our turkey stuffed in and in the oven by 7am! My creamy mashed potatoes are in the crock pot. And on our way back from taking my brother-in-law to the airport I stopped at a grocery and picked up some caramel rolls to have for breakfast today. The rolls were the best caramel rolls I have had in years, I might be stopping at that grocery store again next time we head up to the Twin Cities, it is on our normal driving route but I never needed to stop there before.
