Cool!

We lived in San Jose for the first 8 years of my pop being employed by IBM from '68-'76, before we moved back to Texas. We had some really great times in No Cal...! But, boy howdy, you'd hafta' pay me A LOT, to move back there these days...literally, because, otherwise we couldn't afford it...!!!
And, since it's tomorrow, a Thanksgiving memory...

My mom had a cousin who lived across the Santa Cruz mountains (via Highway 17 to Santa Cruz, then 1 to Watsonville) that lived in Watsonville with her family. We where there for Thanksgiving in '73 (I believe?). We had just finished saying grace in the kitchen when the quaking started. We all just kinda' looked at each other, and then calmly, but, quickly, filed out onto the driveway between the detached garage and the back of the house. The quake lasted only about 30 seconds, but, this was an old house, and it continued to sway and creak for an eerily long amount of time after the quake stopped...

When it finally did, we all kinda' paused for a bit, then looked at each other again, and declared... "OK, let's eat!!!"

And, chow down we did!!!

It wasn't our first Cali. Quake Rodeo...!!!
