Yes, we are seeing more and more people not being able to drive in the snow. If it's a blizzard, they get in their SUV and barrel down the highway. Pretty soon they are in the ditch.

I did drive in the snow but I genuinely avoid it still. My truck is 4x4 and it handles pretty darn well if you just use brain cells when driving.
Still some of my fellow 4x4 drivers fail to understand is 4 wheel drive doesn't do much on ice and doesn't nothing for the distance you need to leave to stop your truck. Me if I don't have to drive in the snow I do avoid it 'cause if I am cautious that doesn't stop other fools from hitting me.

I wonder if all these skin issues are caused by food sensitivities developed over time. The main culprit the pesticides being used on the foods. I always say we cannot see what is going on in the body until it gets to a point where other organs get affected, the skin being the largest organ in the body. Just a thought I had.

Don't discount household disinfectants! A couple recent studies have shown a strong correlation between households that clean a lot with cleaners and kids who have food allergies and sensitivities.

You’re not the only one. I am guilty as well. Funny thing about the automation. Dh told one of his hoity toity know it all college friends a few years back that people would get replaced by machines. It would be cheaper long term to have machines do human work. His friend scoffed. Dh wasn’t far off in reality. You have Ziosks in restaurants now. Soon servers will just bring food and eventually robots may.

The factories in Germany are already mostly fully automated. Robots, man. But their joblessness numbers didn't change. Having automated work still creates work! I, for one, am looking forward to a lot more automation. I have several people I work with who are scared of it though.

That's part of the reason we went organic, hasn't helped:banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:

Modern day organic is nothing more than a marketing scheme. You do a really great job at getting your vegetables from the source, but the truth is that it's REALLY difficult to get all your food from the source. We eat organic as much as possible because it's better than nothing, but it's not free from all the things we assume it is free from.

Did you ever have a Chutes? It was almost all automated, the food went down a chute and delivered to you. It was early for it's time back in the 80's. I could see it surviving in today's world. The food was good and consistent too!
Nope. Never heard of it. Maybe it was just a west coast thing? I remember seeing the self serve restaurants in older movies taking place in NY. The automat. Think they were gone by the time I was old enough to have menories.

I vote Florida. TN doesn't have the best services for seniors should the need arise. We had to deal with some a couple of years back. Florida on the other hand was excellent.

And as always I agree. FLORIDA. :D

Still @betty rose pay close attention as you decide over the next year or so how the new tax structures that are being pulled and tugged at by our leaders to see how everything shakes out. If we can't deduct our state income tax from our fed taxes anymore that favors Florida. If we can no longer deduct our property tax bill from tax returns that would favor SC as they don't have that for seniors. If you have a mortgage doesn't matter where ya live if that interest isn't going to be deductible any longer. Makes my head spin. :banghead:

I'm getting closer to seniorsville so I waiting to see how this all shakes out.

Not sure it is marketing. I spoke with an employee at Wegman’s which has its own organic farms. The small farmers they also get their produce from have to pay the government tens of thousands of dollars for the organic label and inspection. The food cannot have pesticides. They need to rotate crops. They need to use natural pest control methods. We grow organic in our garden at home. We use organic soil and fertilizer. It is very hard to grow organic. Of course you have chemicals in the rain pouring down, so yeah nothing is perfect, but it is better than buying produce or food that you know contains poison. I only am adamant about food quality because my mom died of an autoimmune disease which has ties towards internal inflammation. I did research on the subject and while some people may not get affected by such things, others do. Considering what happened to my mom, I assume my genetics may have a similar sensitivity as well as my kids, so anything I can do preventive wise I consider it my due diligence. :) Long post over. ;)

Us too, these politicians should stay out of our lives. Being a senior is getting harder and harder. I think they want to kill us off as I am a baby boomer, I'm going to live longer, just for spite!;););)
