Nope..I still want to get it over here, but we have to sell the cattle and the pickups and the house and get the life insurance money, pay off the rest of the bills (now, pretty much insurance..once we sell everything, we can have the electricity turned off and we'll get money back from the insurance on all the things we don't own anymore) and then whatever's left over I can use to get my drivers license. It's still in planning, but the money isn't ours yet.
Dear Lord how much does a drivers license cost here in The Netherlands?

I love that the stairs are off to the side and not smack dab in the center near the entrance. Gives a more open look. I love looking at floorplans. Such fun to imagine the insides of a house. :)

Thanks! :)
Yes, we always try to make sure the stairs are not something half your body will fall up if you happen to trip over the threshold...! ;)

We actually do many homes with "back" stairs out of the way in family areas, these days.
We also do a lot of elevators, or stacked storage closets that can be easily converted into an elevator shaft in the future. :)

ETA...
I'll post pics of my final CAD preliminary presentation of main, upper, and lower levels tomorrow. :)

LOL, and I thought I was so sly. You win. They called it cauliflower steak. It had a side of grilled carrots and a bowl of parmasean grits. It was basically just a bug head of cauliflower with some green gak on top. It looks good but meh. At least the wine was good. ;)
I would like a margarita with your dinner. Tequila makes everything go down great!;)

And yet my male Golden could careless. He was just happy go lucky always.
Our dog Wiggles hated the 4th of July. She went to bed with hubby and I. She hid her body under the covers. We turned up the T.V. on music.....that seemed to help her. She only went outside with us with her. She was a very sensitive dog. Freddy was like your Golden, he could care less.

For one thing, and I'm blaming old age for this, I forgot to bring my swim trunks and I am to cheap to spend more money on something that I hardly ever use. Secondly, I wasn't even able to do my favorite thing of just walking on the beach. Just before I left to go there I had something happen, still don't know what, that caused me to get sharp pains in what seemed like my left hip joint. The one attempt I made to walk on the beach was cut extremely short due to the intense pain aggravated by attempting to walk on the uneven, unstable sandy surface of the beach.

I saw my doctor when returned and she had no idea what it might me other then perhaps a little sciatica. Anyway it is much improved now, though still slightly there, but, it didn't allow me to do what I drove to Myrtle Beach to do. Walk the beach and reconnect with myself and my desires for what is left of my fortunate life.
Yikes. Hope it keeps getting better.

We have them here, but I only usually see them as roadkill.:eek:

Many years ago, I once approached our front door in total darkness, and all of a sudden I'm being hissed at...HOLY EXPLETIVE, BATMAN!!!!!!!
Well, I couldn't just let it sit there...DWifey would freak if she even knew it was ever there in the first place. :cyclops:
I opened the garage door, grabbed a pair of thick leather work gloves, and one of a few of those empty 5 gal. plastic paint buckets with metal handles that we had. I used my flip phone for light, cornered it, scooped it up in the bucket and slapped the lid on. Then I ran like heck to drop it over the fence into the retention pond area nearby (it was on the bank and clear of any water...it only dropped about 6 ft.) over the fence. Heart racing...wasn't so much scared of the possum, just the surprise, and knowing that DWifey didn't need to know anything about this... :cautious: :cyclops: ;)

My oldest is 11 and in 6th grade now - new school, very supportive, and understanding that he basically went through hell in elementary school. We're still getting systems in place (he's in integrated classes), but the kids in his class like him and don't bother him, so so far, so good. :) It REALLY helps that I'm finishing up my bachelors in Education, so I'm able to speak to the teachers, admins, etc. in their own language and that there's really no communication gap...which is sort of why I chose that as my second major to begin with. I will say that I don't get involved in ANY of the school activities anymore, and it's definitely had an effect on my kids' social lives, which really stinks, but I refuse to subject any of us to the snobbery that is so prevalent. (It was so bad at his old school that one kid was calling him names all day DURING class and the excuse "his teacher had a really difficult group of kids" was thrown at me. I don't care - that's unacceptable and the school has a zero tolerance policy that's worthless.)

My youngest is 6. He has a severe speech delay (he talks as if he's maybe 3-4-ish depending on the subject), but he understands everything you say to him. He's in a separate autism program and he ADORES school...to the point where I can use it to my advantage if he's being a skootch! He goes to the same school my oldest went to for elementary, but where he's in a separate program we haven't had any issues.

Honestly, we're in MA where we're supposed to have the "best" schools around, and I have yet to see evidence of that. Not to get political, but the extreme liberalism here is causing some things that I really have issue with and we're working towards moving to Florida. Tons of reasons for the decision, but Disney is definitely one of them as both my boys thrive there (and seem to make developmental leaps on every trip), and it's our family happy place.

I'm so happy you guys were able to find a great place for your son!!! :) Honestly, I can make money from home, and my goal once I finish my degrees (English and Education, specialization in instructional design, and you can bet I have tons of life experience with special needs) is to parlay them into tutoring and using my other skills to earn enough so that I can home-school my oldest. He really, REALLY hates school and is a technological wiz-kid (like his mom, lol). That wouldn't happen until after we move, but we know enough people down in FL already that socializing really would be a non-issue. Up here we're out in the middle of nowhere and pretty much by ourselves.
I'm so glad you have a plan for the family. Good luck moving. We are currently looking at Florida too. It sounds like the people are very nice and will be good for all.

I just found out that there was a shooter who entered a Baptist Church in Texas this morning and killed many people. I am on my way to choir practice at my church and I'm sure we will take some time to pray for those who are injured and fighting to hang on and for those who lost loved ones.
What is this world coming to? Why do people need to go out of their way to hurt or kill people they don't know. I'm at a loss as to why all this keeps happening over and over.

Is that weird to get tornado warnings on november?

But then we are having weird weather ourselves too.
We are not supposed to get rains anymore until late december or january. and forecast says there is going to be rain the entire week.
and temps dropping a bit.

As for me, wish me luck. Leaving in 2 days to Mexico city to see the broadway show of THE LION KING and other things.
Have a great time. I would love to see The Lion King.

Hahaaa...!
The Lincoln would have indeed been a tank!
I believe they pretty much all came equipped with 460c.i. big blocks back then...!!!
What did that ship get mileage-wise, about 3 gallons per mile...?! o_O :D ;)

And yes, hills are tricky at first, but, once you get it, no biggy. :)
Sometimes if someone was really close, and I was feelin' lazy, I would just use the parking brake technique...I would just hold it 'til things caught and I wouldn't even roll back at all before I took off. :)

And, yes indeed, our kiddos grew up way too fast. Our 3 are already well into their 20's.
The cool thing is we're all still very close and still do a lot of fun stuff together.
My advice to all parents with young children...
Don't blink...! ;)

I think 3mpg might be on the generous side, but that was in the 80s, so I was using quarters to get a coupla' gallons at a time, lmao!!!

I got a small preview of what my 11-year-old son's voice is going to sound like when it changes...holy bananas, that was scary and weird!
