Baltimore, Boston, and another city in MA -- along with a bunch of other cities/states. They're all trying to lure Amazon (oh by the way, @donaldtoo , Austin is one of them). ;)

Oh, hubs also received a package today (Sunday delivery).
Boston and Baltimore might be top picks since they have a lot of colleges and universities here. There's also two other sites in MD that the state submitted as well.

The economic boost would be really fantastic for the city. I'm not holding my breath, but it would be nice.

Chicago and Northern IL are bidding for it. Multiple proposed sights in the City, 2 in the Suburbs. One would be with the new Zurick Complex in Schaumburg about a mile from the mega Woodfield Mall on the old Motorola Campus. Out of all the sights in this area the one I like the best is the McDonalds Campus in Oakbrook, their international headquarters that they are leaving, it also houses a hotel and Hamburger University.

Me, would I open a Headquarters in Chicago? No. This state is crazy. Our State and Local Government is messed up and we have the Leader of the Free World that tweets about how awful Chicago is. So if I were the Empress of the Amazon I'd take a pass. But it would be so nice for the state.

I think there is a suburb of of Minneapolis/St. Paul is being looked at for the headquarters as well. It doesn't really impact me much but it would be good for that area too.

Ok, Update, My FIL is still in the hospital, but he's ok. Basically he had a blockage in his intestines, which made his entire digestive system back up into his stomach, so everything came out the wrong way. He had the brain hemorrhage in...june?...somewhere around there. I know it was shortly after I got back from my dad's funeral, and I came back in May, and DS was really worried he was going to lose his other grandpa, too. So that seems to have caused some damage that is causing "Vascular Parkinsons" (I didn't know there was any kind of Parkinsons besides just the standard thing.) He's been in a lot of pain and they gave him Oxycodone, which I guess can affect the digestive system. So they have now flushed him out, but he's not allowed to eat anything and he can only drink small amounts of clear liquids. He's still in so much pain, though. So I'm not sure how long he has to stay there, but he's out of immediate danger anyway. Thank you for the prayers and pixie dust!!

I'm glad things are turning out ok, sounds a little rough for him though. Hopefully he feels better soon.:)

I think I spent about $18 on Halloween candy for trick or treaters. That's all.

So I have to question: what is the "average American" according their survey people?

When we had our military veterans (Dave and Judy - soldier, nurse - Vietnam era), across our dead-end street from us we had small Halloween block parties for several years when the kiddos were younger. Those were a blast!
They've been gone for years now, and so many different folks have lived in that house since then.
We still get enough candy for the little visitors to the door, and they are appreciative, but, it's just not the same, and there are so few of them that come to our door. :(
Maybe, next year, we'll fix that with the start of the "dead-end" ;) block party again...!!!!! :)

I can't stand Ray, so I have never watched a single episode of Everybody Loves Raymond. It lies...not EVERYONE loves him. I never really watched Will and Grace, though I don't mind it. And I never liked Seinfeld. Love Friends and Big Bang Theory, though!

I wasn't a big fan of Raymond either, sometimes it was entertaining. I liked the rest of the cast more than him, I find his voice a little annoying. I do like all the other shows people are mentioning. I usually fall asleep at night watching Friends.

So glad to hear he's out of immediate danger, but, so sorry to hear he's still in so much pain.
More prayers.

My husband spends way too much money on candy. He never gives it all away either. We do have a lot of trick or treaters, but he is quite excessive. He only buys chocolate, and I stay away from it all together. I don't need either the calories, or the belly ache.

I agree. While Minneapolis isn't really a Port City it sure isnt far for their needs. Not that analysis's really know it all by any means it seems the majority are leaning towards Texas. This is even better than following who will hold the Olympics.
