Or how some young people don't respect the experience, knowledge, and wisdom of their elders.

Yep, unfortunately, this is true, too. I experienced a LOT of that in retail, especially.

But, I just always try to set the relationship in a positive way from minute one. At the firm, they aren't hired because they're snotty little whippersnappers. The Partners are not dolts. It is such a pleasure working with people that all respect and understand each other, and our various strengths and weaknesses. It's also such a joy to, through that earned respect, have anyone in the office be willing to always help each other and to depend upon each other to not only help, but, teach, so that we all become a stronger team.
Sorry for the massive amounts of corniness, but, it's just straight-up true. :)

Can somebody exlain to me please, how in the past 2 years of wild weight fluctuactions, I only own one pair of size 10 jeans? :arghh:
I have 3 x 12, 1 x 10, 4 x 8, 6 x 6, 4 x 4, and 2 x 2.
It would appear that I seem to skip size 10 both on my way up, and on my way down.

On the plus side, I have 3 pairs of black work slacks which fit fine, and another 8 or 9 pairs which will fit over the coming months. Hope to be back to my regular size 6 in time for all my pretty summer skirts. :)

Size 2 is what my DD wears. She is 5'4" and weighs 98 pounds. I have not been 98 pounds in 15 years not 2 years ago like you. After both kids were born I did return to 98 but I was young then.

Some don't, that's true.

But as a young person, I end up respecting elders who also give me respect a heck of a lot more than those who don't. Of course, I show them respect because my parents raised me correctly, but I'm more likely to listen to elders who also listen to me. Like you and most others who frequent this thread. :)

Exactly. It needs to be a two-way street of respect. :)

Again, I don't know how you all up north deal with the cold.

I went out to clear off my car and check the back tire which easily loses air. I was out there for about an hour, maybe a bit longer. I bundled up. The only part of me not covered was my face, and I had on my heavy winter coat, a hoodie, and two hoods.

My face hurt from that cold. My legs were numb by the time I got in. My hands were in gloves but were STILL cold.

I know it's not "warm" in Florida, but good grief; it's better than here! Think I hear Florida calling my name

When the snot in your nose literally freezes when you are trying to clean off your car, it's cold! -6 here, -16 wind chill.

speaking of cold weather.. it was freezing here in florida yesterday and today.
they even canceled the outside valentine's social party with disney characters.. because the temps were going below 48F.
I had to enture 45F at Fantasmic yesterday with lots of wind.. brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

50 is usually my winter breaking point. 'Till then I can wear fall coat, no gloves etc. providing there isn't lots of wind.

Yesterday there were high winds, on and off snow, it was 5 degrees and a windchill of -15 at the warmest part of the day on the lakefront of Chicago. We needed to catch a bus after we got out of the train station and it took about 20 minutes. 5 minutes into it my face and toes began to loose feeling and at the 10 minute mark we hid in the glass Chase Bank ATM vestibule 'til the bus came into sight.

We have a local bank, some of the women (not so much the guys) are very obnoxious when addressing my DD. She looks very young but being 23, graduating from college and has a career and likely having more in her savings than many of them do, she doesn't appreciate the snarky older women.

She goes to put some jewelry back in her safety deposit box and the older senior citizen woman says to her, well are you allowed to go into your parents safety deposit box? in a not so nice tone. DD, yes I am but I'm not going to, I'm only going into my safety deposit box today. Retort well why didn't you say that? DD, I did tell you the box I wanted to go into you just didn't check the signature to see that it was mine. Next retort, you don't have to speak to me so rudely!!! DD, I'm sorry, I thought the employees would treat every customer with respect including young adults. Conversation ended. DD said the tried to knock her upside the head with the box. Devil woman.

I have a Yellow Lab, he loves the snow and the cold. I'm setting a timer 'cause it is so cold and he never wants to come back in. Summer, well he lays on the vent on the floor to take full advantage of the A/C.
Yeah it's hard in the summer for us. We don't really have that hot of summers, but he hates them. We have to keep him trimmed regularly in the summer. It's nice in the winter when he can grow out his full coat, but then there's the hair.

That would be enough to make me switch banks.

Happy Sunday!!! It was minus 7 here this morning - minus 25 with wind chills. We had to bring the horses inside yesterday morning because it was so bitter. Needless to say, there is no sign of their winter fur starting to shed. Come on spring!!!
