Netflix marathon!
More like homework marathon unfortunately...

I've got a presentation in my sales class on Monday, a paper to finish for Spanish, a bunch of reading for spanish to catch up on, a few people who wanted in on the letter to facilities management about not going in late one day last week to contact, I'll be tied in with my religious meeting via phone from 3:30-5, and my brother's got his friend coming over, so I have to get up and clean the bathroom tomorrow and will probably end up being the entertainment committee at some point when they can't figure out what to do with themselves. "Play air hockey!" "Play the Wii with us!" I'm glad they like me, but still.

The snow is really cool, and I love snow. :)

It's the "timing" of the back-to-back storms that is wreaking havoc here in the state. It's been a commuting nightmare for everyone, whether people attempt to drive in, or take public transit (multiple breakdowns, frozen rails and switches on lines, buses that can't get through gridlocked traffic on narrower streets due to wide snowbanks). Oh, not sure if you heard this one, but the head of the MA public transportation system resigned last week?! :jawdrop: Now what??!!

So sorry, but, I have to rib you just a touch...
You wished for lots of snow, and ya' got it.
Stop your complainin' already.
Be careful what ya' wish for...! :D ;) :)

This is GREAT!! Kudos to you, Mr. Technosaurus. :p

What I really enjoyed about reading the above is the fact driven home: we all have our talents. And, the number one rule in business (I've worked in a number of different businesses over the years), is that it's important to know your job, but equally important to know who to ask for help. Networking is critical to survival in the business world. (Old expression: "It's not what you know, it's who you know.") It's also important to keep an open mind toward all your colleagues, and not write off people. Can't tell you how many times I have been surprised with the knowledge some people have; and often, they might be the people I'd least expect would know the information I'm looking for . . . ;)

Thanks so much!!! :)
I'm a bit aged, but I'm no total igit..!!! :joyfull: :D ;)

I could have added so much more to that post about my Half-day Friday (and other days at the job that I love )
The young dude was just inexperienced and this is his first job and he was a bit panicked.
I have helped the young lady with many things since she has been with our firm, and she was more than willing to return the favor. She told me that the last firm she worked for had these two old dudes that were just condescending bastards to her, every time she had a question.
It has to be a team effort, and everyone needs to check their damn egos at the door.
I earn respect because I give it.

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
On my drive down to WDW this past week I was looking for cars from up north to see how many were able to escape. I saw many NY, NJ and Penn. plates, one lone Vt., a couple from Conn. and two from Maine. I didn't see one single Mass. car all the way down from NC to Florida. My guess is that no one can locate their vehicles under the snow. If they had they would have left by now. ;) Oh, almost forgot... Many from Quebec and Ontario as well.

Here in Raleigh, the temperature is supposed to drop to around 17 degrees F by morning with possible snow showers Monday and Tuesday. I am not amused. There was no mention of this in my relocation brochures.:grumpy:

P.S. I will never be able to catch up on all the pages that I missed while gone (bad WiFi) so forgive me if I repeat something that has already been discussed. Tomorrow I have to work on filing my taxes, but, while confined to my apartment over the next couple of snow days, I will try and put together a little personal "Musings" of my own concerning my trip. Not really a trip report as much as just a few random observations.
Welcome back. I've missed you. Legit.

Some don't, that's true.

But as a young person, I end up respecting elders who also give me respect a heck of a lot more than those who don't. Of course, I show them respect because my parents raised me correctly, but I'm more likely to listen to elders who also listen to me. Like you and most others who frequent this thread. :)

Speaking for myself, I've learned a ton of things from reading your comments over the past year. You definitely have a lot to share with everyone. :cat:

speaking of cold weather.. it was freezing here in florida yesterday and today.
they even canceled the outside valentine's social party with disney characters.. because the temps were going below 48F.
I had to endure 45F at Fantasmic yesterday with lots of wind.. brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

O.k. Let me get this straight. Are you actually saying that 45 degrees is cold to you??!! :hilarious: The temperature yesterday morning here was Minus 1 degree -- that's cold!! Hee hee . . . :p

Yep, that was my pop, too, when he coached baseball/softball.
He caught so much **** from parents for playing the "lesser" athletes. You, clearly, know the kinda' parents of the "all star" punks I'm talkin' 'bout.
My pop would point out the fact to them that their folks paid as much money as they did to sign them up, and if they didn't like it they could try and transfer their spawn to another team.

Good Lord, I owe my parents so much for the things they taught me about simple decency.

Can I tell you how much I respect your father? I'll never forget back when I was a kid, both of my brothers went to play in little league baseball in the summer. One was an outstanding athlete, and the other one had no talent at all, and couldn't hit the baseball. They had a jerk for a coach, and my brother that had no sports talent, was always just sitting on the bench. My mother was so sad (I don't know if she spoke to the coach or not; I was not actually present at the games). I always thought the point of little league was for boys to learn the game, learn good sportsmanship, and make friends.

Woo hoo!! You're back. Now things will get lively again; (not to insinuate that you are, in any way, a rabble rouser or anything . . .). :D

Looking forward to your random observations, too! :)

With regard to my "complainin'" about the transportation woes, you have a valid point. :( I've given this some thought, and I think what I need is my own dog sled team!!! That would be everything I love--dogs and snow, AND I could actually commute to work faster than the public transportation system has been providing??? for the past few weeks!!! ;)

45 degrees when you're from a destination spot in Mexico ... is absolutely cold!
That boy does not have, nor need, our tolerance for colder temps.
And let's be honest, only you and one or two Husky dogs actually LIKE the cold. :p
