We currently have a winter weather advisory, a special weather statement, a high wind advisory, and a wind chill advisory in effect. Freezing rain finally changed over and it is currently snowing. Staying in was a good idea today.

Just glad it's not a blizzard like what @MinnieM123 and others up north are experiencing right now.

speaking of cold weather.. it was freezing here in florida yesterday and today.
they even canceled the outside valentine's social party with disney characters.. because the temps were going below 48F.
I had to enture 45F at Fantasmic yesterday with lots of wind.. brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Your favorite movies happen to be two of my daughter's favorites as well. When she was little she would say, "come on guys, let's watch the giant tomatoes!"

There was an entire thread about that in the WDW section.

It can happen. I had it happen last year. Over the 9 days, the weather started out in the 70s, went up to the 80s, dropped down in the 40s, and then went back up in the 80s. FL weather can't make up its mind.

If I definitely want to see Fantasmic, I always plan two nights when we can do it. I was glad I did last year when I took my bff. It was WAY too cold to do it on the original night. We saw it a few nights later.

I had kids in competitive sports and my DH coached both my DD and my DS teams over the years. The very first year he caught heck from other coaches for his naive approach to winning. He believed every kid played equally and every kid played infield and outfield every game. The only way he waffled was pitching. If they wanted to pitch they had to prove control to him in practice because he didn't want kids getting beaned in the noggin.

The season ended with the final round being my DH team and the much favored teamed coached by our neighbor 2 doors down with my DS then best friend who pitched, my DS didn't. Parents having a fit with my DH sticking to his ways in the Championship vs trying to win. So angry with him. In the end our team pulled away the last few innings while the neighbor boy choked on the mound. Of course my DH and DS were happy with the win however he was more proud of his team and his theory to develop each kid into a better ballplayer not just the most talented.

When he went on to coach my DD softball team years later the parent fits started up again. He didn't have too many issues with his teams but a chunk of these parents were nuts. My kids ultimately landed on competitive swimming. Didn't matter these parents were just as crazy and manipulative. By the way, none of these kids made it to the Olympics nor did they sign with any sports leagues. The neighbor boy became an attorney. Senseless nonsense of parents.

Yep, that was my pop, too, when he coached baseball/softball.
He caught so much crap from parents for playing the "lesser" athletes. You, clearly, know the kinda' parents of the "all star" punks I'm talkin' 'bout.
My pop would point out the fact to them that their folks paid as much money as they did to sign them up, and if they didn't like it they could try and transfer their spawn to another team.

Good Lord, I owe my parents so much for the things they taught me about simple decency.

On my drive down to WDW this past week I was looking for cars from up north to see how many were able to escape. I saw many NY, NJ and Penn. plates, one lone Vt., a couple from Conn. and two from Maine. I didn't see one single Mass. car all the way down from NC to Florida. My guess is that no one can locate their vehicles under the snow. If they had they would have left by now. ;) Oh, almost forgot... Many from Quebec and Ontario as well.

Here in Raleigh, the temperature is supposed to drop to around 17 degrees F by morning with possible snow showers Monday and Tuesday. I am not amused. There was no mention of this in my relocation brochures.:grumpy:

P.S. I will never be able to catch up on all the pages that I missed while gone (bad WiFi) so forgive me if I repeat something that has already been discussed. Tomorrow I have to work on filing my taxes, but, while confined to my apartment over the next couple of snow days, I will try and put together a little personal "Musings" of my own concerning my trip. Not really a trip report as much as just a few random observations.
At this thread, we love random!

Some don't, that's true.

But as a young person, I end up respecting elders who also give me respect a heck of a lot more than those who don't. Of course, I show them respect because my parents raised me correctly, but I'm more likely to listen to elders who also listen to me. Like you and most others who frequent this thread. :)
When I posting that post I was thinking of you so I edited it to include "most people." You are a well balanced person who I have had the privilege of meeting here.
