Certainly. I am a modern woman. I enjoy the tech advancements in themeparks. I don't get lost often in nostalgia of yesteryear. Not surprising I'm a big fan of all things Potter over Pan also. I'm not one to frequently return to the Tiki Birds either. I am pretty proactive in thought of themeparks keeping with the times vs lost in yesteryear tech. Snow White and Toad did little for my themepark junkie admiration either in the 21st century. I love innovation.

Hi! I'm a modern woman, too, but just think differently from your comments above. But, that's what modern women do; we think for ourselves. ;)

Again, this is why WDW is a place for everyone, because there is variety in their attractions. Personally, I like both old and new, and feel there is a place for many different experiences. Sure, I love the older, exceptionally well-themed rides (to share one of @englanddg 's comments--flying over London . . . ahhh . . . just love that!). Peter Pan, Snow White (RIP, SW), and some others are immersive gems. I never get tired of them; I look forward to them.

Many other people love only the newer tech rides (whether at WDW or Universal), and that's o.k. for them. In conclusion, I think that themeparks have a place for all of us, regardless of our tastes.

So can you provide some clarification as to the characteristics of a "modern woman" vs a "pre modern woman" are? It might help us to understand your position on the simple things better.

My baby brother is going to a private clinic for hernia repair. Checks in today. Surgery tomorrow - Friday the 13th, yikes! Released on Monday.

Knowing how emotional his daughter is (and how much she loves her Auntie Jen), I invited her for a sleepover, to distract her.
On Saturday night ... Valentine's day. Good thinkin', Jen!

please explain why learning english sign language would help me to travel internationally?
I would have way better luck finding someone who just speaks spanish.
Still no idea what this has to do since we're talking about phone service, not face to face.
If I was face to face, I can just write in english if I fail to understand the other person.,
Seems like I missed Pick On Cesar Day. I hope you are having a wonderful trip buddy! :)

I do favor the more modern rides but there are exceptions but most of those were more cutting edge when they were conceived. I've been busy WDW since the year it opened and DL since I was an infant till my family switched over to WDW so I've seen where the parks have evolved over decades. My favorite attraction has always been the Haunted Mansion followed by Thunder, both older attractions however I've always been impressed with them bar setting when built.

Even as a kid Peter Pan, Snow and Toad did nothing for me and scared my kids when they were little. I boarded Snow in 2012 'cause I knew it was going to demo'd. I looked at my son and said yep, it can go. Pan my kids didn't like because of the fear of falling out along with the loading system. I like the versions Tokyo seems to be pushing out on rides like Pooh. I'm impressed with Pans queue just like I was very impressed with queue for Under the Sea. I'm not overly impressed with Small World anymore but was as a kid. The one ride I will be sad to see leave is CoP another attraction that was ahead of its time and enjoy the history it taught. Just seems to be crumbling, I can't see it holding on by a thread much longer.

I look at attractions like Pan, the Speedway and Jungle Cruise as still very viable attractions that just need a major overhaul and brought into the 21st century imo. I can appreciate the flip side of messing with attractions 'cause Disney can butcher attractions when they revise them, Figment, Seas and I'm none too impressed with the 2.0 version of TT. Every upgrade to the HM I've been pretty impressed with aside from the hitchhikers at the end as it seems they are too temperamental. For a track system I give kudos to Disney for Toy at the Studios.

Oh, that's no fun. My mom had to have that done after she had my brother. Apparently, I caused it because I was big and late, and then my brother only made it worse. Not fun at all.

You're a good aunt. It's a good distraction. Movie marathon? ;)

fantasyland looks good, but .. i dunno.. doesnt feel cohexive like the other parts of the park. There wass a lot of people too.
I mean, there are too many empty parts and feels like its missing details.
Also the construction areas are unbelievable. The castle is blocked most of the day, the crane is there, the hub is 70% done I think, they are already installing plants and planters on one side.

note that these photos are above the wall. The wallisnt invasive so people can watch the fireworks and the castle show.

watching the parades are a nightmare with the wasll up. All people flood the liberty tavern area now.

mine train as average 60 minutes or more.

also some musings of today and yesterday.

Yesterday, there was this black tall dude with Princess Tiana and Prince Naven. The entire queue and the CMs were laughing nonstop, he seemed to make very good jokes. Tiana was like suffocating of laugher.

Yesterday all attractions I attended, worked fine.. today in the other hand.. the haunted mansion broke 3 times in a row. was stuck in an area for 5 minutes twice.
Seems two doombuggies were severely glitchy and they had to skip these from the rest of the day, leaving them empty.

The mine train was very good, but way too short. The internal scene goes way too fast.

Another one that I liked was peter pan, the sence of flying and most scenes were really good.
But not worth waiting more than 50 minutes. The wait time is insane and suffocating (the queue is very thight)
Also, the reason of the slowdowns is.. for every 6 people of the normal queue, approximately 30 of fastpass enter. its like 70% of the capacity is sorely for Fastpasss.

I really liked the fish and shrimps at the Columbia Harbor House. I will get the lobster roll on the 15th.
Be our guest is definitively awesome from inside.

Another complaint was the Disney transportation.. so sloooow! It usually takes up to 40 minutes to travel from the park to the hotel and viceversa.
managed tomiss rope drop by 5 minutes due of the bus arriving late.
Mmmm Columbia House. :hungry:

Columbia Harbour House is one of my absolutely favorite QS restaurants. I love to go upstairs and sit by one of the windows. It's peaceful up there, which is a rare experience at MK. I like their hummus sandwich a lot. They have a few things on their menu that you can't get anywhere else. :)

I also just recalled a fun conversation I had with a man at a nearby table. It was at the time that they building the infamous tangled toilets. We had a lot of laughs over that one!
I like hummus with bell peppers and green onions. :hungry:

I get that and have acknowledged that. I find the value of the upscale Hilton that has most of the perks of onsight resorts but the deluxe accomodations at a Disney value price. I love the Hilton at DTD.

Yea, since we've never been there for any longer than a week, we like to stay as immersed in the "Magic" as is reasonably possible, for us. "Cheesy" theming and all, if that's what it takes, even though we don't spend that much time at the resort, and the DTD Hilton has better for similar price.
DWifey and I stayed at Pop on a "just the two of us" trip back in Dec. of '08 for our 20th wedding anniversary, and it was just fine. We've also stayed in family suites at Music twice, on family trips, and in a family suite at AoA in the Cars section (which, imo, the Cars section, anyway, is very well-themed) on another family trip. Have never had any issues with the beds at any of the values, that I remember, but, then again, I'd sleep on a deck chair out by the pool for the night, if they'd let me. ;)

Speakin' of AoA, isn't that place considered a "moderate" now with the way the prices have gone up...? o_O
