Oh, that's no fun. My mom had to have that done after she had my brother. Apparently, I caused it because I was big and late, and then my brother only made it worse. Not fun at all.

You're a good aunt. It's a good distraction. Movie marathon? ;)
I'll probably take her to the mall and buy her a little trinket, and then to the show to see either Paddington or SpongeBob. Sadly, I think she's already seen Paddington. :(

Wow. And then you believe Disney is lacking in testing proficiency with their ASL tagged CMs? I'm going to try and get my friend to take a look at this as she is a tagged interpreter for Disney and Registered CDI. Curious if she concurs with your assessment of Disney CM interpreters for the deaf and signing letters.... I can only speak to the assistance I've received but you obviously have seen more than I have to hold a very different view of their registered interpreters and testing procedures. I've found with my Board of Ed we have had extremely good luck with the Registered CDI's we subcontract. While my DS can sign he has not bothered to test out with Disney because he learned as he grew up and doesn't hold the certification but he has been known to wing it in a pickle and can communicate well enough to get questions answered and guests on their way. Now you have me real curious.

I can follow her.

Sorry, I think we are talking about two different things. The interpreters that Disney contracts to come in and do shows, tours, etc. are very good. The two interpreters in the video you posted are excellent and it took them many years to reach that level. They also had to practice that performance a lot to have it down so well.

My comment was about front line CMs. Disney may or may not teach them some basic signs. I don't know. My point is that if Disney does or if they know some on their own that doesn't make them interpreters. While helpful for some basic park directions and assistance, working out dinner reservations or explaining what went wrong in the process would be difficult.

The contracted terps are good though. I've known and worked with some.

The internet (news, etc) is reporting that the Magic Kingdom will go up to $105 dollars a day. Multiply day passes are probably going up as well.

My baby brother is going to a private clinic for hernia repair. Checks in today. Surgery tomorrow - Friday the 13th, yikes! Released on Monday.

Knowing how emotional his daughter is (and how much she loves her Auntie Jen), I invited her for a sleepover, to distract her.
On Saturday night ... Valentine's day. Good thinkin', Jen!

Oh my.
As I've shared before, I once broke my leg on a Friday the 13th...when I was 13.

Prayers to him for a successful surgery and a speedy recovery.

And yes, good aunt. :)

So...my day.

Woke up, still had yesterday's migraine.
Came out, found car with a low tire, had to put more air in the tire before heading off to class.
Hit a ton of traffic, was late to class, no thanks to that tire.
Still had the migraine.
Got to chorus (at around 12:15), walked through cloud of perfume, stopped breathing
After a failed nebulizer treatment, security called 911, got to ride in ambulance
Still at the emergency room, though I am once again breathing. I'm hoping to get out of here this evening
And the migraine is still there, my car is at school, and it took forever to even get in touch with my mom (who is still not here).
I missed Spanish class. And chorus.

This is not my day. Or week.

Sympathy like.
Girl, this is not your day!
