Dont ever mention the word "generous".
The managers will know and they will cut down the offering size ;)

I wish I could remember which trip report it was of @Tuvalu 's but I believe she was at the MK and between her two cookies was this little smear of ice cream. Me I put more cream cheese on a bagel then she was given on an ice cream cookie sandwich.

I'm not going to lie... from all the stories I've heard the image in my mind of a mammogram is pretty much getting your chest smashed between two steel plates. I'm completely dreading needing one. This gives me a little hope, LOL
The only pain I experienced was the 2nd time and it wasn't the smashing, but the way I had to stand. It's just really awkward because they check from several angles, and you are kind of up close and personal with a big honking machine and you have to keep the rest of your body out of the way of the machine while you are smooshed up against it. Kind of like in the movies where the girl is dancing with a guy she really doesn't like and she's trying to get away, but he's got her held so tight she can't move...like that, but you're slow dancing with an x-ray machine. So it's just awkward, but it's fast. A few seconds and you're on to the next position. Really nothing to dread.

I've said it before and I'll likely say it again-I live in a silly, stupid, dysfunctional state that has been nothing but an embarrassment.

This afternoon listening to the news I heard Springfield did something I stopped dreaming would happen. Stunned!!! *insert proud smiley*

Been about a year since I last posted on this site, but I'm back! I feel like I've matured a lot over that year as well, I had a strong feeling when I stopped coming on that I wasn't "cut out" for this site per se. I also became occupied with a different website, so I just stopped coming here all together, but I'm excited to be back.

Welcome back. Many of us do that from time to time, often for all types of reasons. So other than site hopping what have you been upto Woman?

Over the past year, we've gotten two cats, and we've never had cats before. One of them is a female Balinese named Khaleesi (after Game of Thrones) and the other is a Lilac Siamese male named Oliver. Here's a few pictures of Khaleesi:

Oh I haven't been up to all that much. I'm still in college and am moving into a dorm for the first time this fall, so that's going to be a whole new experience for me. In terms of activity, this summer has been pretty slow in that regard, but last night we played Illuminations music while watching the 4th of July fireworks, so that was something.

That move to a dorm is always exciting. Both with my DS and DD it was a great day for them. My DD actually stayed in her dorm all 4 years. Doesn't happen much, she loved her dorm. How many more years do you have left to go in your college career?

I'm always up for Illuminations music!

This upcoming year is technically my last, but I might have to do an extra semester. My "path" is unclear at this point and I'm still not really sure what I want to do with my life. I had a lot of stress last semester which was no fun at all and being unsure about my future also stresses me out. I'm sure it will all get figured out eventually though.

I had the exact same experience with my first one. I was 32 and having lost my mom to breast cancer, and both of my grandmothers died of it as well, and all the female cousins have had it, we decided it was best for me to get a baseline to compare later. I was so scared going in, but it wasn't bad at ALL. I had a scare several months ago...I found a lump. That time was a bit more painful...not sure why, but still nothing to what I had even expected the first time. Still nothing to complain about. And it all turned out fine...just a lump of completely harmless tissue, so yay. But good for you that you went in and got it done, even though it was a bit scary. So many women don't. And just think how many women you can now encourage, and let them know it's not as bad as they are thinking it will be!

The technician asked me at the end if it was as bad as I had heard and I said no. She then told me to tell all my friends that it isn't that bad so they don't fear getting checked.

I'm very glad your scare turned out to be nothing serious.

In other news, went to a botanical park near my town. All the other way from the bay...

Bautiful place.
Wished I could have stayed more, but my cousins had other plans.

Not as big or as beautiful as the Butchart Gardens at BC. But still pretty. And has a ton of birds varieties.. mostly humming birds.

One of my favorite Broadway shows is being screened in movie theatres on several dates, beginning next Wednesday. If this is in your town, I highly recommend snagging a ticket. It was nominated for a busload of Tonys. It is hysterical, heartbreaking, and ultimately a truly wonderful night of entertainment. Info on how to get tickets at the link below the trailer. PS - I'm not involved in this show at all, in any way - just a major fan.

Almost all hard chocolate or chocolate coating in ice cream is tempered with coconut oil, because it makes the tempering process much faster. He's lucky he likes vanilla ice cream, because chocolate chip is usually not an option, along with drumsticks, klondikes, dove bars, etc.

It's pretty amazing how many items coconut is in. My daughter has a mild allergy to a preservative called Sodium Benzoate so finding toddler bath products they can both touch is super challenging. All the non-natural stuff has the preservative, and all the natural stuff has the coconut.

Man that stuff is in everything, food, beverages, fireworks. It is such a good chemical and at the same time a very scary one.
