You've never been? You are a rare and special breed that we should impart all knowledge to! ;)

Le Cellier actually isn't a bad one for kids. The way it is built, sound doesn't travel really well, so even if you've got an impatient child, they likely won't disturb. So if you end up going back in a few years, it's worth considering. A lot of people don't like it compared to the way it used to be, but we've had nothing but good experiences there.

There are a ton of restaurants I've seen in trip report that I'd love to eat at! Our daughter is super well behaved in restaurants most of the time, but if I were going to a place like LC or V&A I'd want to dress up and really enjoy myself. This age group..... Dressing up just gets you big fat ketchup stains on your nice clothing :hilarious::hilarious:

At CRT your princess will get a fairy wand and a magic wishing star.

I forgot about that!! Thank you!!

CRT we've done, dining plan of yesteryear. We had a dessert party comp'd. I'm not wild about either.

But I did not have a 'princess' daughter. She never did go down that road and still isn't a frilly gal as a 20 something now. If she was I might have given into it. She was always an athletic gal vs a tiara type person. The stroller situation in WDW is beyond nuts, Disney's own doing. Add in carriage strollers makes me want to bang my head into a wall.

I really really really really wanted a tomboy. I'm not princessy at all. But I want her to feel free to be herself and know that I support that, so right now that means I have to do princessy things with her.:inlove:

There are so many places that I would have LOVED to try last Summer, but DS is the pickiest of all eaters, and we were on the Dining Plan, so we had to mostly stick to places where they had pizza or chicken nuggets on the kids menu. I made an exception for 'Ohana and the CM noticed DS wasn't eating anything and he went next door to Kona and got a hotdog for him. I wrote up some feedback to give him kudos...he was AWESOME. Le Cellier is definitely on my list for our 25th anniversary trip in 9 years, sans children. I hope it's still there!

Ohana is on my list if I ever make it down for a mother daughter trip. My husband has a weird food allergy that takes ohana completely off the table for this trip but the food and the resort look amazing!!

In the fall Walmart has a legging with an almost light fleece feel inside:joyfull: They also have the shorts and tank tops I like to work out in for about $4 each:joyfull:

Two black Fridays ago I watched four women slam their carts into each other and yell at each other because they were all stressed out trying to get those leggings:eek:

@DisneyBound what allergy does your dh have that would take Ohanna off the table?

He's allergic to these guys and everything they touch...

Sympathy like. Have you contacted special diets? The only place we don't eat at as a family is CHH due to my dh's severe shell fish allergy. Paging @StarWarsGirl she may have had a more recent experience there

We have, but we're so far out that we're just getting the generic "contact your chef upon arrival at the dining venue" message. They sent me a long list of allergy friendly foods at a lot of their QS locations and that has helped me narrow down some choices that won't kill him and I've looked up copycat recipes online to weed out other things too. He cannot have dole whips or mickey bars or popcorn, or pretty much any of the snacks you find on Pinterest "you HAVE to eat this at WDW" lists. I'll just have to take one for the team and eat enough for the both of us!! :hilarious::hilarious:

Hugs. Email isn't the best way to always get an answer from them I've had better luck calling. I call the dining reservation # and they transfer me.

OOH!! That's really helpful!! I'll put that on my to-do list for when we get a bit closer to our trip! Thank you!
Have you noted it on your ADRs yet if not do so today, the sooner the better. Seeing you're doing mostly qs eat at off times if you can it's easier. Just go the cashier and tell them you have a coconut allergy I believe but am not positive that is one the send a chef out for. Your food will take a few extra minutes and come out labeled with an allergy tag. AOA has a great food court and does a great job even with the crowds:joyfull: But again off times is your best bet.

Sympathy like, it so hard to find a good hairdresser that will listen. It took me forever to find one i like. Don't give up hope I finally found one and I only have to go every 3 or 4 months except for the bangs:joyfull:
Well, we've gone to this place for several years and they did a great job the last time AND they did it for free since we were donating the hair. This time, they were different stylists and we had to pay for the cuts, even though we were donating. The owner wasn't there, and she's the one who did DD's last time and did a fantastic job. We got exactly what we wanted. This time it was terrible. I don't know why the stylist was so against putting layers in my hair. Just give me the cut I showed you! And I do my bangs myself, too. I usually just get my hair trimmed a few times a year and then chop it off after about 3 years when it's grown out from the last time, so it's not a huge deal, but they know us and know we donate our hair regularly. Maybe we just had bad luck with the stylists. I'll have to ask for the ones I want by name next time, I guess.

We have! QS is going to be relatively easier than a bunch of buffets so we have that going for us. The allergy team said they'll work with us closely for the Dessert Party, but my suspicion is that the kid and I will eat all the desserts and my dh will get a few of those pre packaged allergy cookies.

I found Le Cellier to be good but not worth the money or 2 credits. I haven't been since the change to 2 credits and we don't do the DP There are better signatures. I don't eat steak but my dh will.
Yeah, I can understand that it doesn't make sense for you. But the deal we get from over here gives the dining plan for free when you stay in the resort for at least 5 days. And of course, the longer you stay and the more people in the room, the better that deal is. We did upgrade from QS DP to DDP because the moderate resorts only came with QS. But I'm hoping for our next trip, we can do a deluxe resort, which comes with DDP, and we also automatically get 2 week tickets...with all the discounts and everything, we can afford to stay a bit longer, and then it's not such a big deal to use 2 credits....I think we had some leftover credits this last time because DS wouldn't eat everywhere. If we actually had to pay for the dining plan, it wouldn't be worth it for us. But we had 10 days...that's quite a good deal with the dining plan. And not eating meat...well, I can understand a steakhouse isn't a good fit for you. But DH and I LOVE steak, so that's one I'd like to do sometime.

Whole Foods is supposed to open up Step Sister stores called 365.

2 in Texas, Houston & Cedar Park, FL-1, OH-3 Akron, Toledo Akron, IN, IL, WA, OR, CA In attempts to reach other markets that mock WF's as
WholePaycheck.

I like their wine choices but rarely buy there. I've more used them in a pinch.
Their produce is top notch, I find their pastry disgusting and their prepared food so out of reach of my budget.
Went into a Whole Foods once just to know. Drove over an hour into MD for this. My take away from this was that it was cramped msking it umpleasant to walk. Barely room for 2 carts to pass. The food was over priced as well. My local supermarket has nice wide aisles and plenty of organic/natural foods and products. "Regulat" supermarkets can easily compete with Whole Foods nowadays and Wegmans is ten times better. Their prices are better too.

We have a huge fireplace we use from fall to spring but it doesn't heat the whole house. We go through a cord of wood on a really cold winter.
We have a propane run fireplace but of course you need electricity to run it so I am not sure if it saves money in the winter to run it.

The parties have some cobblers and such, not the cookies:)

Free dining is the way to go on your side of the pond.

Nothing wrong with splurging, and if that is the way you want to go, go for it. My family wouldn't personally...we're also there twice a year, so fireworks and eating in the castle...not really a huge deal for us. When we splurge, we do it at some of the restaurants like Blue Bayou in DL or Le Cellier...and some people really wouldn't go for that. To each their own. :)
After the trip in May I no longer feel the need to splurge. Been there, done that for a lot less a few years ago. Having 20% off with AP does help a lot though. Next trip is just counter service but for 1 ADR at Whispering Canyon. First timers like @DisneyBound2017 who don't know when they will go again should definitely go for all experiences. Although if you are on this forum now, you will find a way to get back. ;)

Sympathy like.
So sorry to hear. My deepest condolences.
But, if it had to do directly with his heart, it may have been something different than a Triple A.
Those happen in the aorta, below the heart, in the abdomen.

Again, my deepest condolences.
Isn't this what also killed Alan Thicke? Full body image scanning does not seem like a bad idea when you read about all these anatomical defects.

Oh how sad...the food at 'Ohana was amazing!! And the theming was really spectacular. We were really impressed with EVERYTHING at the Poly...we stayed at CBR, but I'm DYING to stay at the Poly sometime. After we checked out of CBR, we went and stayed with some friends who live in Kissimmee (which turned out to be a DISASTER), and we came back to the park for one day and the friends were supposed to pick us up. But the husband ended up working like...3 hours late, all the parks were already closed, we had no way to get back to their house, my husband REFUSES to use UBER...so we went to the Poly and sat there in the lobby for a couple of hours while we waited...at least the kids could curl up on the super comfy couches and sleep, and a very helpful CM broke the rules and let me charge my phone there even though we weren't staying at the resort (I wrote up a kudos to him, too, just left out the fact that we weren't resort guests and said that he was just so helpful in finding a charger that fit my phone)...it was just a great place to sit and there was an artist drawing portraits, so we could sit and watch him. If I could choose anywhere to stay on property for our next trip, that's where it would be. AND, they had Rootbeer in their QS restaurant, which CBR did not.

It was Joey Chestnut. He ate 72 hot dogs and buns! (I think he's been the ongoing winner now for 10 years, iif I'm not mistaken.) There's also a women's contest. I think the winning woman ate around 32 dogs, but not positive on the exact amount. (I forget her name.)
I caught the repeat of that last night on ESPN. As a kid that contest amazed me. Now I just get grossed out watching them gorge themselves. I need a barf bucket watching it.

Disney sure gives nice deals to those across the pond. Even Canadians get nice deals on DCL.

Why not Micky Bars? Do those have trace amounts of coconut or something?
When we ate at the German Pavilion Bier Garten, we sat with a family with a little girl, who I swear was allergic to EVERYTHING. How the girl even ate ANYTHING is beyond me. Eggs, sugar, gluten...I was like...what CAN she have? I think she was 6 or 7, and obviously very used to it because it didn't bother her in the least that she couldn't have any of the desserts and there is my son, filling up on the pretzel bread and cookies right in front of her. Those were the only things he WOULD eat. I felt bad, eating all the yummy stuff in front of her when she couldn't have it, but maybe she didn't even know what she was missing because she's never been able to eat it. I just thought..man, it must be hard to find food if you've got an allergy!
