We initially looked into wedding packages at WDW for oldest DDs wedding in April of '14, and even the more "modest" ones were waaayyyyy pricey and wouldn't have accommodated the number of guests they wanted to invite. Plus all the travel, etc.
They ended up getting married here at a local outdoor venue, and having their reception in a tent on site. The venue, the ceremony, the tent, and the reception were all absolutely beautiful.
They then did a WDW and DCL honeymoon...! :)
I'm getting a deja-vu. Didnt you answer this post already?

But how sparkly clean would my house be if I got a $40 gift card for Disney per room? Heck, how about just the bathrooms and kitchen?

For the last two weeks I've been Spring Cleaning. Tried to get away without it this year. I wonder how many $40 gift cards I'd get for all those windows inside and out?

But so why I want someone else to take out the garbage, make the beds and wipe down the bath sinks etc. I wonder if they at least leave clean towels on the door handle? $40 at Disney given their prices isn't going to go very far for a family.

My MIL is really stressed. My husband is doing ok...he goes and visits on his lunch break or he goes in early and leaves early so he can stop by before he comes home from work. He said what worried him the most was the memory thing...that his dad couldn't remember what he did for work and kept asking my MIL what DH and his brother do. I don't even know if he remembered he had grandkids. But he seems to have gotten over that. We've kind of kept the kids out of it since we visited him a week ago. DS had such a hard time and that was when things were still going really well. He knows Opa is still in the hospital, but that's it. It's a 45 minute drive there and we're only allowed in 2 at a time because it wears him out so much, so DH is just going by himself so his mom doesn't have to leave and so the kids don't get scared with all the tubes and such. Well, now those are gone, but he might have to have the IV back for antibiotics if they can't get the bladder infection under control. So I guess the short answer is they are hanging in there, but it's definitely taking its toll on everyone. My MIL is spending all her time at the hospital and is worried about the lawn needing to be mowed. We told her...who cares about the lawn?? If WE need to come mow it, we will....YOU worry about being here with your husband. And my FIL also has a bunch of birds...they have to be fed and taken care of daily, so my BIL is doing that I think. He only lives half a block from them,
where we live 40 minutes away. But she's one of those people who really cares about appearances and what if someone notices the grass is too long? So she's stressing herself out a lot.

Oh Dear poor MIL. My Mom did that with my Dad. Crazy Mom even started bringing him food and taking his laundry home to wash. They had staff that did that. She really wore herself out.

My morning snack was a citrus swirl. I beleive these are far superior to a Dole whip. I was even wearing my orange bird/ citrus swirl shirt which was an early birthday present from hubby.

And we tried the new hand-dipped corn dogs at Sleepy Hollow which were good but Disneyland's is better.

Oh my! That corn dog looks delicious...!!!!! :hungry:
But, I noticed there is no stick...is that how hand-dipped is different from stick-dipped or dip-sticked...?! o_O :D
Or, had you already taken the stick out...?! o_O ;)

Although, I appreciate the thank you's "for your service" way things are now, I'm afraid it is hard to feel that it is anymore then a social exercise and that most really couldn't care less and are just uttering empty words. I hope that this isn't offending anyone, but, that is how I feel at this point.

I'm am uncomfortable with reciting a canned, token thought to any Vet. Being canned it just can't come out of my mouth. I appreciate the whys of how it started, thoughtful intention. It reminds me of the majority at Mass with the peace be with you or the also with you phrases. It is to rhetoric-icky for my comfort level, nothing to do with lack of appreciation.

My Dad served twice, he enlisted and was shipped to Japan. Ultimately he got recalled and shipped into the thick of it all during Korea. He was already trained so they nabbed him back and said tossed on a ship and off to Korea as was his best friend he had previously enlisted with. He had his military funeral and he is in a beautiful Military Cemetery in a wall with a plaque that has all his particulars on it. And as I think of it I do wonder where his Flag is.

I saw that now it's just going to be a matter of finding the time when we can all go someplace at the same time. Family vacations may not happen for a few years:( The one good thing about skipping a few years is when we go again it will be a trip like our last one:joyfull:

We had a big gap. Part 'cause the kids were in college (it gets worse before it becomes better) and then the big recession hit of course while I had two in college.

While they were few and far inbetween I fared the best. I went with my DD while my DS was in the College Program for her 16th birthday, thank you Grandma. I will never forget my son creeping up behind us the night of the day we arrived (he had been working) while we were watching the Osborne lights. I was getting texts from him during the show and he wiggled in behind us, how he found us in the sea of guests, go figure even having given hi coordinates.

I went down a second time when he had graduated college and did a final farewell to to the Disney College Program. We did so well with all of his discounts and free passes to the parks and 60% off room and 50% of dining plus he had a 40% off do to the time of the year in lots of venues. It was a blast.

Next up my DD graduated college and she and I had an awesome 2 week trip that overlapped my Birthday and I learned the pro's and con's of the Birthday Button as an adult. I am not a public person, rather private. Live and learn.

While we as a family did Disney for long trips as they grew up these three stood out as very special for me. But like I said they were spread out over time too so it did make them kinda special.

Long time ago, I bought a really nice leather belt for a birthday gift, for one of my brothers, (from the Mexico pavilion). It had a very unique design with an attractive belt clip. It was the most expensive purchase I ever made in WS, but I never regretted it.

And this will be what I miss if they IP the heck out Epcot.

Ha! :joyfull: That is exactly the same way I feel, too! When I go on vacation, I expect to do ZERO labor. It's the one time of the year that this happens, and I'm not changing the routine.

My first thought, first blush is now you get a $40 gift card. Next up they'll charge you for clean towels and cleaning like a DVC. Not a fan of all that. My guess is they will regret. Beyond the labor savings....you have bug issues in Florida. Leaving stuff lay around for a week...not good. Then the turn the room issue on check out to check in day. A room that hasn't been cleaned in a week or two...it is going to be a rougher clean. How they will do little things like soap, kleenex, tp I wonder.

Got your links, and I honestly been noticing these kind of laws everywhere in the bible belt area.
These groups really love the "good ol' days". Which are only "good" for a tiny percentage of the population.

Once again it is a male championing all this...I can't wrap my brain around it all. I was too young to actually remember returning to all that.

I'm more of the to each your own kinda Gal. We Gals really can chew gum and walk at the same time.
