I just wanted to say Happy Fathers Day to all the dads here, whether you are a dad of human children or fur/feather/fin babies, or someone who stands as a father figure for someone who needs it. I've had a few father figures in my life, most of them gone now, but I celebrate having had them in my life...I'm lucky. So here's to all you men who protect, watch over, and guide others. You are a special breed!

I can walk up to a QS and get a cup of ice water. Depending on how fast I drink it, I can get 2, maybe 3, refills from fountains before all the ice melts. Plus, I can drink warmer water. It doesn't bother me.
As my folks, who were both raised on hard-working farms, are known to say... "It's water. It don't matter if it's warm, just as long as it's wet!" ;)
:joyfull: That's our family saying.

Actually, I don't think the "likes" have anything to do with being a Well Known member. I believe it is the number of posts that put the members into the various categories. At least that was always my understanding.
It doesn't have to do with just likes because there are members from years ago that have very few likes but a lot of posts and are well-known. :)

My daughter picked two quarts of mulberries yesterday from trees in my yard. :)
We have a mulberry tree in our yard. They are white. It was here when we moved in and in a not very much visited part of our yard. 2 years ago I walked down to where the tree was and smelled a really horrible smell. It smelled like really bad wine. I then looked at the tree and saw loads of what looked like white large maggots. It was disgusting looking. Yeah stupid me did not know they were mulberries. Hey they just looked icky. What do you do with them? All I know is they are used by silk worms to feed on. Never tried one.

I will have to try the mint thing sometime. But I tend to get bitten even if I wear bug spray. :(

Here is a picture of the Mickey Pizza I made last night for dinner. I guess hubby took a picture, he was pretty excited about it.

Well yes and no. We only got about 20 minutes of the monsoon this afternoon or so my DD said. Me on the otherhand headed to Schaumburg-WoodField. I was maybe 5 minutes away driving in zip rain, crossed a major road and was in a monsoon. And I mean a monsoon. I could barely see through the rain.

The inlets to Woodfield were heavily flooded when I got my truck in there. The aisles all had several inches of water and you could barely see the mall buildings. I sat in my truck for over an hour. So close yet so far away. I would have been soaked including shoes. So there I sat. Thank goodness for smart phones, at least I had something to play with.

We did get hit again just after 8pm.
Welcome to my 'hood! Happy to say, not a lot of standing water, today. And today has been just beautiful!

Ours are never white. Dark purple and stain your fingers. :joyfull: We give them a good rinse and look over then just eat them out of the container or put them in muffins or quickbread.
