Move over double wide strollers, there is a new double princess available to rent in WDW

calling the stroller police @Tuvalu
At a loss for words over this one.
One of the girls my DD works with was there for the last Wishes. It ended and nobody moved, everyone just stood there. :inlove:
That is what it looked like on the video I saw on YouTube. People were just standing and singing along to Wishes.

by the way, anyone knows whats going on at WDW? I read in tumblr that monorail blue broke down spectacularly and expelled pieces, almost hitting one dude.

The photo of that person did show some pretty big chunk of monorail...

heres one quick google hit..

Just saw this as I work backwards on the thread. My TR is taking time away from here! That is sad and blue is my favorite train.:(
Hahaaa...!
Actually, it turns out I didn't get beat up at all with that little detour.
Also, your not lame at all. I've been ignored "up there" many times, as well. In fact, by far, most of the time. There was a bit of back and forth with at least one member this time, but, it was nothing bad. It seems many of the regulars up there will either ignore or jump on any of us "unwashed interlopers" (my term ;)) ...!!! :hilarious: After all, they know all things Disney, and they are the experts, as N&R is pretty much the only place they hang out on this site. :cyclops:
Anyway, I haven't ventured their since, but, I'm sure I will from time to time. Next time I may very well be thoroughly thrashed...we'll see...! ;)
I try and stick with this thread and TR's and planning, etc. :)Those in N&R are some scary folks. Stay too long over there and you will lose all optimism and hope.:eek:

"No privacy at all in this place". :joyfull: Love Carousel of Progress. My dad worked on that ride as overnight security at the World's Fair in Queens in the 60's.
Cool! Bet he has some real great stories about the World's Fair. :) I spent my very young years living not far from Flushing Meadows Park and remember walking there with my family. I only saw the remnants of the fair during those walks like the huge globe. I had no idea at the time what had been there in the 60's.

A Crazy-good (and a bit o' crazy start to) Father's Day today. The fam took me out to brunch at Kerby Lane Cafe! :)

My jalapeño bleu cheese burger...it was awesome...!!! :hungry:

image.jpeg

Sorry, no other food pics from Kerby Lane...

The girls had made a ressie, but, when we got to Kerby Lane, things were still running about 20 mins. behind what we expected. Oldest DD said they had made other ressies for something else a good ways away for me later that was gonna' be cutting it close, so we got menus and we're ready to order as soon as we were seated. While we were still waiting, oldest DD said (I wasn't prying about the surprise, either) that the ressie was for this cool new go-kart track that just opened in DWifeys mothers hometown. OK, that area has been growing like crazy, too.
So, right when our server showed up, we ordered drinks (mimosas) and our dishes right away. Our server said it would still be about 20 mins., as the kitchen was a bit backed up, but, the girls said it was no problem 'cause we still would have just enough time to make the go-kart ressie.
Now, the bit o' crazy...
Our server showed up with the waters and mimosas, and just as she was passing the last water, her arm bumped the last mimosa on the tray straight onto DWifeys top... :cyclops: She was drenched...gasps were heard from all around us...:jawdrop:
The server immediately left and came back with a towel and tears in her eyes. DWifey, and all of us, assured her that it was OK...stuff happens. She, of course, apologized profusely, and said that the last time that happened was 2 years ago. Again, DWifey said it was OK and gave her a neck hug (DWifey was pretty soaked) the young lady was so appreciative of our understanding (other people would lose their minds over something like that...we're not those people ). Youngest DD headed for home to get DWifey a change of cloths, and got back (we only live about 4 minutes away) just as the food was being served. DWifey and we joked that the outfit youngest DD came back with was cuter, so "The Great Kerby Lane Father's Day Mimosa Shower of '17" was fate...!!!!! :hilarious:
We again reassured our server when we left that all was OK, and had a good chuckle with her. She apologized again and thanked us for being so sweet and understanding.
And, we left her a much larger tip than we normally would have...! ;)

More Father's Day fun...! :)

We finished our brunch at Kerby Lane and headed for the go-kart track ressie about 30-40 mins. away.
Only, my crazy-cool fam tricked me again, and I had no clue...it was no go-kart track in that hometown, it was the airport for a half-hour flight in one of these...a gyroplane !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :joyfull:

Takeoff...!!!!! :)

This was the coolest thing ever...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :joyfull::joyfull::joyfull::joyfull::joyfull::joyfull::joyfull:
I even got to take the controls for about 8 mins. of the flight, and he said I did awesome...I took it left, right, up, down, increased, and decreased throttle. The gyroplane is such a stable flight platform.
Also, the pilot was very impressed that I knew the inventor of the gyroplane was a Spanish engineer named Juan de la Cierva, and his creation first flew in 1923...!
Again, this was soooooo awesome...the closest thing in real life to flying like all those childhood dreams I had...!!!!!!! :)

Nah, nobody over there makes me lose all optimism and hope...what TWDC/TDO keeps doing actually does...! ;)

It's like the people running the company now want to carp all over Walt's legacy 'cause they're tired of hearing about it, and in some sick way, want to show him up in the name of a buck. I kinda' think they're, again, all just tripping over each other to come up with new cash grabs to justify there jobs, rather than giving a carp about the company overall. It's just sick at this point.

Welcome to my 'hood! Happy to say, not a lot of standing water, today. And today has been just beautiful!

Yep. Very familiar with your floody floody hood. Grew up in Park Ridge, my Dad was one of the many contractors that built Woodfield. My first condo was in Elmhurst and first home In Arlington Hts. My Mom is still in Park Ridge. Why I migrate to Woodfield. Many shopping centers around N. IL but nothing like that one.

Yup. It's actually only their second vacation ever without me. They went to WDW a few years ago without me. My mom especially has never wanted to travel without her children, so until it got to the point where I was an adult, they pretty much didn't go anywhere without me, and they've never left my brother home.

I'm actually going to SC with my grandma this Friday after work to visit my aunt and go to the beach. Just for a long weekend. She's staying longer, and I'll get her on July 3. Then my parents on July 4. Lots of airport runs in my future.

Wow! You are the useful relatisve now aren't you? So what ever happened to your Aunts Grandkids she cared for?

Curious to see how this vacation goes for your family. Your brother is so use to you creating the Disney 'magic' with you. Your folks have been accustomed to you chaperoning your brother so they have their own time. This has to be very different for them this go around.

I heard something about this on a podcast but I hadn't seen it. It is amazingly cool and high irritating all at the same time. I'll have to keep and eye out to see how many people rent these for their little "princesses".

:)I might just have to order them, I think I will be wearing my stretchy pants/shorts on Monday.

Ha! Go for it woman! :D
