Another Xfinity customer, here. The answer is with Comcast, it is cheaper to have them all bundled, then get rid of the phone, or the cable. The internet-which we need to make it "work" is the most expensive part, and on it's own didn't make it worth it to nix the package. On top of that, Comcast is evil. I am in one a few markets with a new trial. Basically, they give you so much data use a month. Higher the usage the more you pay, and if you didn't prepay, much like your cell phone, you pay dearly. If you are just using the internet normally, for a residence, it is quite easy to stay in your target. The minute you start streaming from anything, it will cost you.
So, every so often we call and threaten to switch to ATT, and they miraculously find a better deal. The last one even got us more channels, and a fancy remote. So we get more for less than we were paying for just basic.
We pay for the Boost for internet. I don't like your plan.:( We stream already from Netflix and when the kids do schoolwork there is some streaming from online classes. Ipads get used a lot, and we stream stuff on the tv from Netflix or Youtube. And if we do the Hulu that will all be streamed. Unfortunately they are the only cable company where we live. Could do Dish or Direct TV but their internet stinks. We are between a rock and a hard place. Like I said I will try the Hulu and see how it goes.

I made a special trip to Target for Beauty and the Beast. Of course, it's Target, so I didn't buy just that...

Anyway, then I came home and watched it. And my family knows better than to disturb...and then I watched it again Wednesday...and I listened to the soundtrack at work...in Spanish...because I have sunk to new lows.
Were the Spanish singers better?

When the exterminator did not show up at the allotted time window, I called them. One of us got the day wrong. I was positive that the lady I talked to a few days ago said Friday, between 1 & 3 p.m. Turns out, our appointment is tomorrow. I got a confirmation call today. Thankfully no more ant sightings the last few days. We had done everything we can think of to do, to keep them out of the living room window area.

I watched Beauty & the Beast again today. I really love this movie. I just love the Beast. His facial expressions are just wonderful. Of course, my favorite part is still when he sings Evermore as Belle rides away to rescue her father.
I liked during the library scene when he said he hadn't read all the books because some were in Greek.:D

Today the exterminator is coming to treat the house for it's ant problem. Hopefully we will see some improvement in that department. My husband and I are so weary of trying to keep the ants out of the bird food/cages. Didn't have any ants in the living room, before the birds came. Terminex quoted a reasonable price for their treatment. I guess time will tell if this is successful or not.

I recall about 6 years ago, we had an ant problem. (We live in a 2-family duplex.) So the landlord called the exterminator, and oddly enough, he put the chemical solution (I didn't see how it was applied--whether a liquid or small traps) outside the house, in the ground. Within a week or less, we had no more ants. That always stood out in my mind that he treated the ground outside the house.

Yep. That is what I figured. Hulu does offer the cable news channels. Don't know if it is more local news you are interested in. I am going to do the free trial for a week and see how it goes. :)

Yes, I do need the local news--especially during winter storms, as they keep updating both the weather conditions and the traffic/public transportation delays and cancellations. But the main reason we keep the satellite (DirectTV) is because of the national, international (BBC America), and news talk shows that we are unable to access via an antenna.

I had considered Direct TV using a cheaper bundle but the price with all the taxes, etc. would not have saved money.

Give it 5 years and I wonder if satellite tv, direct cable etc will even have a place at the table anymore.

I can't watch Cosby anymore. :depressed: Can't imagine I ever will. Most stations have just dropped the sitcom altogether.

I see it going quite well beyond the 5-year mark. Too many people will never give up their TVs, and even now, most of the newer models are all Smart TVs, allowing a multitude of options. (Personally, I don't care for them, but that's just me.)

Have a fun weekend. Next weekend we start getting hit with graduation festivities.

Thanks, but remember it is my in-laws. So I'm trapped here until Sunday night, the party is tonight but hubs wants to stay for the ceremony on Sunday which isn't until 6pm. :( I'm not big into parties and besides the in laws and hubs I really won't know anyone. My hope is to escape at some point to the bedroom we are staying in and sit and read crochet. I will try to be positive.

The lady that I spoke to on the phone, said that they would treat both inside, and outside of the house. Makes sense. The object is to get the Queen Ant, from what I understand. I sure hope the "ant guy" shows up closer to 1 p.m., than 3 today.

Sympathy like. Will you have to deal with the kids who got into the luggage?
