James and his bff decided to join and sign up without asking permission and our high school chorus meets over the summer:mad::mad::mad:. At least it's one more thing he'll be able to put on his application to college and a free DC trip for them sounds like fun. Guess who'll be signing up to chaperone:D This year it almost work out with my dh's schedule, he'll be home in time most days to take them:joyfull:

Crazy Lady! ;) The very last thing I wanted was responsibility for other peoples children. At least the staff is paid for being with a boatload of teens.

I made a special trip to Target for Beauty and the Beast. Of course, it's Target, so I didn't buy just that...

Anyway, then I came home and watched it. And my family knows better than to disturb...and then I watched it again Wednesday...and I listened to the soundtrack at work...in Spanish...because I have sunk to new lows.
I was so very good today, going into Target and only buying BATB:p The display was right by the entrance:oops:

Sympathy like. DD is doing poms. So, right off the bat, the coaches say if you want to plan a summer vacation, do it during the 2 weeks of "no contact". Of course, first week of no contact is mandatory band camp. During that week the kids learn marching, the field formations for pregame and halftime, parade, and putting it all together with the music. Second week is incoming freshman orientation, I actually have a work meeting to gear up for the upcoming school year, and then she has her official audition for poms Thursday and Friday. And good bye summer.
Sympathy like and hugs

That's pretty good that you didn't learn until you were nine and you could do that hard swimming a few years later. A lot of people who don't learn until they're older never quite get used to the water.

When I took ice skating in college, we had a graduate assistant for the class. She told us that she was impressed by all of us learning to skate as adults because she had never learned to swim. We offered to teach her to swim, and she said nope, she preferred the ice over the water.

Thanks! :)
The last time I did any swimming was on that Port Aransas trip a coupla' summers ago. I was out there in the surf for a good half hour a coupla' times. Besides just wading through waves and current, I actually swam quite a bit through all of that. Definitely tired and felt it later, but, had no problems. It's more fun out there for me than in a pool. Probably why I like wave pools, too. :)

Also, I forgot to mention last night (although I'm pretty sure I've posted some of this before) that DWifey learned to swim at a younger age and was also on the diving team in HS.
She also used to have an advanced scuba diving certification, and has been as deep as 180 ft. in the Atlantic off the coast of Florida.
She had all her own gear and never needed to rent anything.
She sold it all right after we got married, as she realized it was a bit of a potentially dangerous hobby to have when wanting to start a family.
Hopefully, at some point, we can do it on some future vacations...I would love to surprise her with something like that...!!! :inlove: :)

My Mom has Mac too. One eye worse than the other. She has had shots to the eye every few months to dry the fluids behind which improved her vision. Oddly the generic med worked better than the costly one.

She is 83. She says she will give up driving when the time comes. She says. I wonder.
I'm sorry for your Mom. I still have the dry kind, no treatment for that. I'm hoping to keep at least some of my sight. My vision has changed a lot this last 6 month's. The Dr. is going to rotate my lenses in my glasses, he hopes that will help. I'm using my eye's differently, as my vision is going down, I'm looking more out of the corner of my eyes. That can pretty much stay the same, I may make it until I go completely blind, here is hoping for a big breakthrough, for you and me. We are both candidates for this, as our Mother's had, or have it. I truly believe that everything is in the genes. I got heart disease and high blood pressure from both of my parents. I don't like meat much at all. I have been anemic when I quit eating much meat. Today, I have one serving of beef a week. I am substituting cod fish. I don't like it, but the cocktail sauce pretty much kills the flavor.

Give it 5 years and I wonder if satellite tv, direct cable etc will even have a place at the table anymore.

I can't watch Cosby anymore. :depressed: Can't imagine I ever will. Most stations have just dropped the sitcom altogether.
I agree, he is such a bad person. Too bad they didn't do anything sooner. If he gets off, their is no justice in our country anymore.

@donaldtoo the boys were watching something about food and the show mentioned a place called Picnik in Austin. It's paleo but also has vegan/paleo dishes have you ever been there? The place looked interesting.

Nope. Have never heard of it. Pretty sure oldest DD probably knows about it though, but, she hasn't herded us there yet...!!! :hilarious: ;) :)

No but I'm finally going to pick up my copy of BATB today and watch it tonight. If anybody dares be in the room or attempt to bother me......:angelic::angelic::angelic::angelic::angelic::angelic: I may be heard yelling all the way down to Florida:oops:
Like taking your DVD jumping in the car driving to Florida while yelling at them the entire way so you can have peace and quiet to watch DVD in your hotel room far away from the disrupters? :geek:
