No but I'm finally going to pick up my copy of BATB today and watch it tonight. If anybody dares be in the room or attempt to bother me......:angelic::angelic::angelic::angelic::angelic::angelic: I may be heard yelling all the way down to Florida:oops:
I made a special trip to Target for Beauty and the Beast. Of course, it's Target, so I didn't buy just that...

Anyway, then I came home and watched it. And my family knows better than to disturb...and then I watched it again Wednesday...and I listened to the soundtrack at work...in Spanish...because I have sunk to new lows.

Today the exterminator is coming to treat the house for it's ant problem. Hopefully we will see some improvement in that department. My husband and I are so weary of trying to keep the ants out of the bird food/cages. Didn't have any ants in the living room, before the birds came. Terminex quoted a reasonable price for their treatment. I guess time will tell if this is successful or not.

6 weeks beats a few days here and there. James has no vacation for the next 4 years due to band and chorus:(
Sympathy like. DD is doing poms. So, right off the bat, the coaches say if you want to plan a summer vacation, do it during the 2 weeks of "no contact". Of course, first week of no contact is mandatory band camp. During that week the kids learn marching, the field formations for pregame and halftime, parade, and putting it all together with the music. Second week is incoming freshman orientation, I actually have a work meeting to gear up for the upcoming school year, and then she has her official audition for poms Thursday and Friday. And good bye summer.

We have so -called Smart TV's so I am wondering if we would even need something like an Apple tv or roku. We actually have Sling and Hulu available on our TV's. I never thought about cutting cable until recently. We bundle our TV, internet, and phone. Our bill is just off the wall and dh and I don't really watch much TV anymore. We have shows DVR'd from 6 months ago that we have yet to watch. Thinking I could save at least $150 a month. I tried to go to Xfinity which is our cable company and see what just internet and phone will cost and the website won't give me a number. I hate calling. How do you get your internet and tv? From your cable company?
Another Xfinity customer, here. The answer is with Comcast, it is cheaper to have them all bundled, then get rid of the phone, or the cable. The internet-which we need to make it "work" is the most expensive part, and on it's own didn't make it worth it to nix the package. On top of that, Comcast is evil. I am in one a few markets with a new trial. Basically, they give you so much data use a month. Higher the usage the more you pay, and if you didn't prepay, much like your cell phone, you pay dearly. If you are just using the internet normally, for a residence, it is quite easy to stay in your target. The minute you start streaming from anything, it will cost you.
So, every so often we call and threaten to switch to ATT, and they miraculously find a better deal. The last one even got us more channels, and a fancy remote. So we get more for less than we were paying for just basic.

Hope that is the end of your ants.

He knew what he was getting into with all the extra school activities. The upside is I'll get some me only pool time this summer:joyfull:

We started down that road too. They both were involved but we did make sure 'their' commitments also allowed for the family to be a family. They landed on swimming. Our coaches also valued family time so their summer club allowed for family vacations, we timed them as not to land at the end of the season. They also lifeguarded and prior to that taught swim lessons. We quickly learned that being involved in too much wasn't really bad for either of them but the impact it had on the Unit was ridiculous especially before they could drive.
One of the reasons they both had cars in high school.

I literally lol'ed at this statement.

The Wall Street Journal did a study this year on the most hated companies in the US. Guess which one made the top?

I swear they are run by Ferangi.

We switched to Fios years ago when it became available.

We dump'd Comcast as soon as Uverse was available in our area. Internet speeds are good enough for us but not what most would expect. Comcast was better speed but it was down often and often long spurts, stupid long waits for an appointment for service or even to get them on a phone. (loved when they'd refer you to their website and your internet is down. :cautious:) So Uverse it was, it has been reliable so I'll take the slower speed or ALL THAT that Comcast brings to the table.

We have satellite, and my main reason for keeping it, is because I'm a news hound--I watch so many news programs and those aren't accessible on the over-the-air antenna (free TV signals) that we also have. (We got the antenna to try it out about 6 months ago, and see what we'd get, but it's basically limited to our local TV stations. The antenna comes in handy, though, if the satellite goes out, if there's bad weather, for example. At least we can pull in the local channels when that happens.).

As to @MySmallWorldof4 , Xfinity purposely wants people to call--because they have these huge sales pitches that the salespeople try to ram down your throat. Be really careful and savvy when you talk to them, and don't hesitate to say, no, and end the phone call if it doesn't go your way.
Yep. That is what I figured. Hulu does offer the cable news channels. Don't know if it is more local news you are interested in. I am going to do the free trial for a week and see how it goes. :)

I knew when it was my time to give up driving. I'm so glad I did. I didn't want to kill anyone else, or myself. My eyesight is not very good. And I see with only one eye, and have tunnel vision, along with macular degeneration. Getting older can be hard. I'm plowing through, though. Hubby calls me his tough old bird!

My Mom has Mac too. One eye worse than the other. She has had shots to the eye every few months to dry the fluids behind which improved her vision. Oddly the generic med worked better than the costly one.

She is 83. She says she will give up driving when the time comes. She says. I wonder.

CBS has its own streaming service called CBS all access. You can stream live and watch full episodes without commercials. Some shows, namely the new Star Trek: Discovery and The Good Fight), are exclusive to all access.

When I eventually move out, I'll probably do the same thing @figmentfan423 is doing. I only watch cable when Cosby Show or Home Improvement is on. Other than that, I have Netflix and Amazon Prime, probably will get Hulu and CBS all access and be set.

Give it 5 years and I wonder if satellite tv, direct cable etc will even have a place at the table anymore.

I can't watch Cosby anymore. :depressed: Can't imagine I ever will. Most stations have just dropped the sitcom altogether.

My dad had that happen a while back. Got a call at school saying what had happened from my mom. I told her to turn it off and let me handle it. Then when I handled it that night (by running a system restore after rebooting in safe mode), he kept coming in and watching it, and I guided him out by his shoulders, "Come on, it's fine, it'll take a while. Let your daughter handle it." Then he sat in his chair and complained he was bored. But I got the virus off, so...

Ha! That is me. I just hand my DD my laptop and I walk away s l o w l y .
If she ever moves far I know there is some type of program that will allow her to access my computer remotely-kinda hijack it and see what is happening and do whatever it is that she magically does.
