Completely underwhelmed by what we just saw from WDW... :bored:

I enjoyed the projections. I enjoyed the fireworks. However, the fireworks should be the star of a fireworks show, in my opinion, and they aren't. I can see why the Magic Kingdom Hub was reconfigured. This has obviously been planned for a very long time. Using the castle to project these images from Disney movies. It just all felt so disjointed to me. The show had it's moments. Tinker Bell flew, but I felt she was an after thought. I had my favorite visual moments. Hunchback. Tangled, Up. The show went too long in some scenes, and songs, and too abrupt in others.

Really? Hubby and I enjoyed it. He and I both have concerns that it might be a hub only show because of all the projections. But we enjoyed the music, projections, lasers and fireworks. I think that Wishes pulls more of an emotional punch but there were quite a few times watching this new show where I went "wow!" and that was just watching it on my tv so it have more of the WOW in person.

Yes, really.
Sorry, we love us some Disney, but, to us anyway, we thought it was not impressive, at all.
Again, maybe in person we would change our minds, maybe, but, we even looked at each other a coupla' times and were like "This is what they replaced Wishes with?!?!?!" :bored:

Obviously, we haven' t seen it in person, yet, so we'll reserve final judgement for when that happens, but, from what we saw tonight, it was just basically a typical castle projection show combined with background fireworks.
So yes, definitely not an impressive replacement for Wishes, at least in OHO.
We expected much more. :cyclops:
We just watched it. It seemed to really drag along for a while. Like you say, maybe it person it is different, but I don't know.... DW said the same thing about the projection vs fireworks - not worth going out on the roof from CG to watch it. I wonder how it will impact the Contemporary upcharge party...

Thanks Kapono and I ventured out this morning for our Saturday doughnut run. But I plan to spend the rest of the day in the recliner, well at least until 6:45 pm. Then I have to go over to school, it is prom tonight and the prom coordinator talked me into counting ballots for king and queen again. She likes to have a staff member be one of the people who count ballots so parents aren't counting. That lead to fights and accusations of rigging the prom election in the past. So now I count the ballots with this lady's husband (who doesn't work at the school and doesn't know the kids at all) Which will be fine as it will only take about an hour at most. I think she was counting on me to stay and chaperone the dance a little but with my cold I said I would come in and count ballots and then leave at the grand march.

Sorry, obviously still playing ketchup...
Oh my, the prom drama.
And, is the grand march similar to a wedding grand march...?!

Yea, that's also the thing...you hafta be more up close to see the projections clearly...the fireworks, not so much.

I was not a napper either. I would hide under the blankets and play with toys quietly or read a book (once I learned how to read) with a flashlight. Or I would sneak out and end up watching soap operas with my mom, it seemed as long as I sat quietly she was okay with that.

Honestly, the only time that I remember "nap time" was in kindergarten when we lived in No Cal. We had mats in class that we "napped" on (I don't think I ever took one, I just layed down and was quiet). I don't ever remember a scheduled nap time at home...pretty sure mom and pop wanted us completely tuckered out at the end of the day so we slept like stones...!!! :hilarious:

My mint never comes back, I wonder if that is because it is planted in a pot instead of the ground?
I was thinking about my spring planting, which is really just flowers and in pots, today and I was thinking about planting citronella (although it isn't a flower really). Actually I was thinking about mostly getting some citronella, geraniums, and marigolds because they are very hardy (as I forget to water) and they keep away bugs. I will get some herbs too like basil, parsley, mint (mojitos!) and maybe some oregano. Our FFA kids sell some flowers and vegetables so I might get a few tomato plants from them this year too. I'm getting the spring itch to plant my pots and do a big spring cleaning of the house.

Does the FFA still give out the blue corduroy jackets? They were all over our HS years ago...! :)
