I have no clue, as I have never researched it. But, if someone can show me how renting points to stay at a DVC property is less expensive than staying in a value family suite, I'll take it...! :)
how much is a suite at AMS? and AOA?

I think it was around 350-400 USD a day to rent points on Old Key west (divided into 4 people). 2 big rooms, kitchen, 2 full bathrooms. (Technically we could have fit 4 more people there!) on New Year's.

AKL was cheaper but it was completely booked out. (usually the cheaper rooms, around 200 USD a day on low season via renting points)
It was 180 USD to stay in COR, single rooms (studio vs normal hotel room).

Unsure about the recent price hikes.

But then, DVC point rental removes the daily cleaning.

Thank you sir. You were an inspiration.
Hello everyone, Is it 2018 yet? I'm done with 2017. We got back from the mountains, today....we had hail storms, daughter's car that she got after it being fixed, broke down in a severe thunderstorm. We had to wait 3 hours for the tow truck to come and get the undrivable car. So many accidents, all over. Daughter couldn't get the boy's from school so she called hubby to go and pick them up, he was really late, he got caught in a hailstorm with baseball size hail. He held his arm over his head to protect it, but several of those hailstones, hit his arm, and he think's it's broken. He was able to get the kids, late. His car sustained major damage, the front windshield is broken, and the car is full of dents. More of the same kind of weather tomorrow. We had a nice time in the mountains, but it seems the fun doesn't last long. I promised pictures, I'm pooped and will send tomorrow, unless we lose power, again. I hope everyone had a much better Monday than we did.:brb::brb::brb::brb::eek::eek::eek:
:jawdrop: sorry to hear this

Yep, when the kiddos were younger, we were fine in a POR room with one bath that slept all 5 of us.
Since '07, on all family trips we have stayed in value family suites (one time at AoA, and the others at ASMusic - the last 3 trips with SonIL along). They sleep 6, have a kitchenette, two baths, and a seperate lockable bedroom with another TV. :)

Not bad but the price OUCH! I also like having a full kitchen, washer and dryer for anything a week or longer:oops: That being said at some point I'd love to do a resort only trip and stay in the bubble sans kids:angelic:

Oh my, sympathy like. I was watching the early AM news here, and they showed some footage from Colorado, of those horrific hail storms. Busted windshields all over, and yes, pictures don't lie--those were literally baseball sized hail that poured down!! YIKES!!

T-Minus 4 days til freedom. Then I come home and they will be doing work on the bridge.....Urggghhh. I don't like the island

Too bad they don't have a ferry that you could drive you car on, while there's construction on the bridge. I've always liked those ones up in Vermont, that go across Lake Champlain. You simply drive on in Vermont, and then drive off in New York. :)

Average $240 a day.
