@betty rose , since you said you love anything pickled, and I believe @Gabe1 said she would like the zucchini pickle recipe, I looked it up in the cookbook my mom gave me. I'm assuming that "lime" is probably the chemical, not the fruit, but having never made them myself, I have no idea.

Your mom had pretty handwriting. To think that handwriting will be a lost art form in the future. I can't believe they're not teaching handwriting in many grade schools anymore.

@ajrwdwgirl , I found a new thread about Dapper Dan rehearsals for WDW. Thought of you and your hubs right away. But what baffled me was the age range--20s-30s. I've seen the Dappers in WDW in all age ranges. As a matter of fact, I think I prefer them to be middle-aged and older--I'm not sure why, but I think that older age range is more appropriate for the singing group. (Maybe I'm thinking of old movies where I saw barbershop quartets.)

Anyway, here's the link in N&R:

Thanks for the link, I'll check it out. I've seen all ages of Dapper Dans too, especially at WDW. WDW's Dans seem to run a little older than Disneyland's. At Disneyland the Dans seem to be in their 20's and 30's.

They teach it here, but it's a bit different from the way we learned when I was in school. I have a hard time reading it here because some of it looks so different. But yeah, my mom's writing was crazy neat...I could never forge her signature on anything had I wanted to!

Hello everyone, Is it 2018 yet? I'm done with 2017. We got back from the mountains, today....we had hail storms, daughter's car that she got after it being fixed, broke down in a severe thunderstorm. We had to wait 3 hours for the tow truck to come and get the undrivable car. So many accidents, all over. Daughter couldn't get the boy's from school so she called hubby to go and pick them up, he was really late, he got caught in a hailstorm with baseball size hail. He held his arm over his head to protect it, but several of those hailstones, hit his arm, and he think's it's broken. He was able to get the kids, late. His car sustained major damage, the front windshield is broken, and the car is full of dents. More of the same kind of weather tomorrow. We had a nice time in the mountains, but it seems the fun doesn't last long. I promised pictures, I'm pooped and will send tomorrow, unless we lose power, again. I hope everyone had a much better Monday than we did.:brb::brb::brb::brb::eek::eek::eek:

It was the last big downpour that came that I thought I was going to just have a nervous breakdown if it didn't stop. It was dark (can't remember, but maybe Sunday night?), and I looked out the front window. Street of course flooded, but the water came all the way up on my front lawn (first time ever) and all the way to the outfield of the park across the street (also a first). The water has gone down. I am supposed to go to a tree planting memorial tomorrow at a local park, and last time the poor widow checked, the spot was still under water. Hope that is all drained by tomorrow. And at school, the kids go outside in shifts. Last week, I was able to get the first group out, and the second would walk outside, and have to run in...more rain. Sick of rain. Talking to my dad, the desert never sounded so good.

I think if we got that last one, they would have had to lock me in a padded cell for awhile.
I'm sorry for all the wet stuff. Day after day, gets old pretty quick!

Room prices have gotten to the point where on site no longer works for us:( I've mentioned this before but we also like to spread out a bit and have more than one bathroom. 4 nights in one room is our limit and that's pushing it even at SOG

Yep, when the kiddos were younger, we were fine in a POR room with one bath that slept all 5 of us.
Since '07, on all family trips we have stayed in value family suites (one time at AoA, and the others at ASMusic - the last 3 trips with SonIL along). They sleep 6, have a kitchenette, two baths, and a seperate lockable bedroom with another TV. :)

Perhaps they want to push more dancing and less singing?
