Yesterday day hubby and I had a day of fun. We spent the morning at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum. We had a lot of fun looking at all the blooming plants. We went specifically to see the tulips but also walked a couple of trails as well. The arboretum plants over 32,000 tulip bulbs in the fall, so we were really looking forward to the spring bloom. We were not disappointed. Here are a few pictures of the beauty we saw.

I don't mind wearing dresses. Now that shopping for a dress I could do without. That is harder than finding blue jeans to fit correctly.

I now either wear or plop in a purse my Michael Kors ballerina slippers shoes. The price was enough to gag anyone but no regrets. Similar to these, softest glove type leather, thick padding inside and rubber-ish bottoms. Luv Luve

Tell me about the clothes shopping thing:banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead: It's the cause of my survival sewing. My emergency pair of flats are cheapies from Rue 21 comfy enough for my needs and cheap enough to get in a couple of colors:joyfull:. I do not suggest them for people that need good arch support or will be in them all day. But for me they fill a need:joyfull:

Thanks for sharing those. I love tulips but in my neck of the woods they're called deer chow:(

I agree, it is getting difficult to plan even the basic. You know me I had been known to jump on a plane in under a week and be gone. I miss not having to have a strategy that was more than which days for Uni and which days for WDW.

I birdie told me I'd should focus on room discounts this year over free dining, not only because of the cut backs but because of the $$$ overall value, while we all knew we were 'paying' for free dining it was a nice perk for an upgrade from standard room to minimum garden room plus park passes.

I just didn't really expect the discount (so far as some get better) to make that big of a difference. That goes to your thoughts of newbies understandably don't get it as see 'free' Blahhhh I feel bad for them.
I miss the good old days sometimes. Once pre kids I packed a bag hopped in the car and headed south on 95 no plans at all not even a room ressie and had a great trip:joyfull:. I'm sure it may still even be able to be done but...........

Ha! That genuinely made me laugh. Just being in the know of how to actually be able to reach Disney reservations on the days offers are released, setting an alarm to book FP+ and ADRs is a challenge to seasoned veterans.

Now do you pay the upcharge of $25 to ride an internal bus between parks so you don't waste touring time going through security areas.
All part of the reason we'd rather go less often for a longer vacation. I think I'd have a nervous breakdown planning a shorter (for us) trip. It's also part of the reason the guys want to do a UNI only trip for our next Florida adventure.

I've had all sorts of watches over the years too but like you and @betty rose my Timex watches gave me the least grief. I had one real cute Mickey white glove watch that I bought at the beginning of a trip that broke before the trip was over. One trip when my son was very small I forgot my watch (at a time I always wore a watch) and bought a cheap Timex at the Publix
grocery store in Orlando. Thing still works. It winds. No batteries to die.

But now I rarely wear a watch good ones or cheap. My FitBit has a digital clock and my iPhone does too.
I want a fit bit but can never justify getting one:(

Did you at least get to eat some of your favorite things while being StateSide so long? And pack up some stuff to take home?
I did! The very first thing we did was get milkshakes and then go to Perkins in honor of my dad, since that was one of his favorites. I made sure to get most of my favorites in, but a lot of things have changed...like...no chicken broccoli alfredo at Applebees anymore. And I got some things and mailed a box home to myself last week. I managed to get girl scout cookies, too!

Did you get Jello. I remember you saying that's hard to get by you.

Only like...12 boxes? :hilarious: I got a bunch of jello, several bags of cherry twizzler bites, girl scout cookies, gravy mix, and my brother bought the kids a bunch of peeps:depressed:. I also got some cereal and some stovetop stuffing. And chocolate twinkies because they look disgusting, but my son will love them.

That's excellent and you're lucky to be able to take that much time:joyfull:
Well, that's the beauty of being a fill in. I don't have set hours. I can tell them "I'm not available from this date to this date" and they just can't schedule me in that time. I decide when I'm available to work and they decide when they need me within that time frame. The downside is that if it's not busy, I don't get hours. But it lets me be there for my kids when there's something at the school, or for birthdays or whatever. I just tell them I can't work on this day, or I'm only available in the morning on this day of the week. Like...I have choir rehearsal Monday evenings...so I can't work Monday evenings. It's pretty flexible.
