Yeah, we Moms cringe when we hear these things from our children. I hated falling too. I skated from young. My only advice is to pick a spot in the distance and focus on it. Don't take your eyes off of it and skate to it with focus only on it. It tends to keep you straight and level.

I used to figure skate a lot. Two pieces of advice for @StarWarsGirl95 , first: make sure you have correctly fitting, supportive boots; second, do not look down when you are skating. Similar to what was suggested above, just keep your head and focus ahead of you (either near or far), and you'll find that it's similar to walking in the sense that you'll maintain your balance if you keep your head up and looking forward. :)

Once again, last night a call came in from one of the bosses at work, who told all (office/clerical, etc.) staff to remain home for one more day. The reason is that this particular boss lives within an 8-minute walk from the hospital and said that even by last night, the streets in many, many places were still barely plowed, everything was a mess and icy as well. Was afraid someone was going to fall and break a hip, just by trying to walk to the hospital from public transportation locations, or from the parking garages close by.

Can't recall if I've ever had 2 days off in a row (only with the exception of the storm last week as well), in all the years I've been working in the city. Been through tons of snowstorms (lived here all my life), but the issue with the larger one (25 inches for me) and another substantial one yesterday (another 14 inches in my area, on top of the first storm) was that they couldn't keep up with the clean up on the roads. They were just starting to get everything under control, until yesterday's storm came. And this is with all the big equipment pulled out for every city in the state, and many small private contractors plowing, too. Keep in mind, as well, that Boston has a lot of narrow streets off the main roads, as this is a very, very old city and not built for modern traffic. (I heard that even the mayors of New York City and Philadelphia had offered to send up equipment to help out, if our governor and mayor needed more.)

The storm yesterday just wouldn't stop since it began yesterday morning prior to 3 AM. It finally ended around 1 AM this morning, according to the weather report I just heard. The sun is out now, and it's a winter wonderland again! :p

Sal Khan of KhanAcademy is also a "real scientist" according to his college degrees, and in this video he explains the error that the other ones made in their calculations.

And being about the only one they could find that believed only the Patriots Balls would deflate. Even the Patriots bailed on this defense and threw the locker room attendant under the bus subsequently.

Already figured out the don't look down part (and gave that advice to another girl who was having difficulty as well), but thanks

This morning I am really sore. I came downstairs and my mom said to me, "Why are you moving so slowly?" 'Cause I'm sore!:joyfull:

The most effective use of it was the time when Edith literally yelled at Archie and told HIM to stifle. That was hilarious.

I was pretty young when it originally ran so much of it first run went over my head. My folks loved the show so it is still played in reruns. Such a great concept for a show and the writing was over the top funny.

I too loved when Edith 'lost it' on Archie, she played that part so well.

The thing is that I was the level-headed one between me and my bff. She used to suggest doing things, usually jumping off of things, and sometimes I'd go with it, and other times, I would tell her it wasn't safe and we shouldn't do it. We both admit now that we would have done more stupid stuff if I hadn't been cautious. And this wasn't when we were teens; this is like five, six, seven years old... we both turned out okay.

Twice, two different neighbor children climbed up on garage roofs and were running around up there, different kids about 5 years apart. The first one was a middle school kid and friends while parents were at work. I marched over and told them to get down, now! They complied.

The other one same thing but my BFF was around the corner at a neighbors house. I called her cell to tell her what was happening out of her sight line. Her unexpected return was fun to watch from my yard. Stupid preteens.

Eddied Murphy has a new song out. Mediocre reggae music.

Wonder if he will sing for us all on SNL.

Kenny G. was an early in Starbucks. He says he is responsible for Frappuccino said he called up the CEO and told him that he drank a blended thing at Coffee Bean and then the Frap was born. Starbucks will not confirm or deny.

I can understand doing that for a while, but then I'd be all excited to go out and explore places around me that I've never been before! :joyfull:

Yes but the trip is 5 days and 2 of them being travel days. Don't think they are going elsewhere as all meals are inclusive as is the bar. So likely pool, beach, pool beach and repeat. Warm sand sounds amazing.
