Ivory Tower Squabble EST 2011. WINDMILL SURVIVOR
Once again, last night a call came in from one of the bosses at work, who told all (office/clerical, etc.) staff to remain home for one more day. The reason is that this particular boss lives within an 8-minute walk from the hospital and said that even by last night, the streets in many, many places were still barely plowed, everything was a mess and icy as well. Was afraid someone was going to fall and break a hip, just by trying to walk to the hospital from public transportation locations, or from the parking garages close by.

Can't recall if I've ever had 2 days off in a row (only with the exception of the storm last week as well), in all the years I've been working in the city. Been through tons of snowstorms (lived here all my life), but the issue with the larger one (25 inches for me) and another substantial one yesterday (another 14 inches in my area, on top of the first storm) was that they couldn't keep up with the clean up on the roads. They were just starting to get everything under control, until yesterday's storm came. And this is with all the big equipment pulled out for every city in the state, and many small private contractors plowing, too. Keep in mind, as well, that Boston has a lot of narrow streets off the main roads, as this is a very, very old city and not built for modern traffic. (I heard that even the mayors of New York City and Philadelphia had offered to send up equipment to help out, if our governor and mayor needed more.)

The storm yesterday just wouldn't stop since it began yesterday morning prior to 3 AM. It finally ended around 1 AM this morning, according to the weather report I just heard. The sun is out now, and it's a winter wonderland again! :p

My DH ventured out to work yesterday and said it was horrid even with 4 wheel drive. DD texted me when she got to work and said main roads were fine. Secondary and side still a mess. The ice under the snow is horrid.

Ewe a lady found a mystery sea creature in a can of Princes tuna, purple with little eyes looking out at her.
Princes have apologized and launched an investigation into the find. :hungover:

Nothing with eyes appears ever on my plate. Don't enjoy my food looking back at me.

In 2007, Patriots coach Bill Belichick authorized taping of the New York Jets defensive coaches from the field during the game, essentially to pick up on what their signals for different plays would be. This was considered illegal as no videorecording devices are allowed on the field during a game. It later came out that they had been doing this for a while.

Wikipedia, so take it as you will, but it's a good overview

I was dumbfounded too but I have to give kudos to the young'n that caught the ball, he wanted it, really wanted it.
Drive counts. Lynches head was somewhere else the week before the game. In retrospect sure but I also understand the coaches knowing his focus was elsewhere.

Bottom line, imo anyway, it doesn't matter who wanted what, or where whoever's head was ;), you DO NOT call a pass play in that situation. Period.
