The conference was pretty good today. For dinner we had pizza and beer we paid for the pizza with the school credit card but we didn't think it would look good to have beer on the school credit card! One of my co-workers really wanted to see Beauty and the Beast so we've all went to that. I think I enjoyed it more the second time.

To that first part...!!! :hilarious:

Do you remember having a quick spin?

or remember being told it doesn't sting...

Or remember dusty candy at your relatives house?

Or remember the original recipe for

it was the one and only one that actually seemed to do what it claimed, recipe seems to have changed, forever.

Or the crib toy bought for almost every newborn that parents learned to hate as it made so much noise...woke parents and babies that accidently kicked it. My DD dialing the phone was my alarm clock.

Or remember the best gum in its own pouch that my Dad always said NO to...(it will rot your teeth)

All of the above...! :)

Hahaaa...!
Yep, definitely the same basic car. GM has mostly always been that way. Mine had a "Rocket 350" with a 2bbl carburetor. It got up and went, but, it was no rocket. I would have much more preferred a 4bbl...just the sound of the secondaries kickin' in when I popped the pedal to the floor would have been worth the extra gas in my mind back then...!!!!! :joyfull:

And yep, no AC either, I put in my own stereo system (with a cassette deck, not 8-track ;)), it also had buckets up front, auto tranny, hand cranked, and bias, as well, when I first bought her. Radials later.
I remember all the tune up stuff, as well. Points, plugs, condenser. Did it regularly. I don't need my timing light anymore these days, though ...!!! :hilarious:
Mine had 186,000+ un-rebuilt miles on her before DWifey finally talked me into getting rid of Bessy... :( ;)
I do sometimes wonder whatever happened to her...I loved that car... :cyclops:
Mine was a 2bbl as well. It was a good running car but really very light on acceleration. I decided one day to see how long it took to hit 100+ mph. I started on a downhill slop on the interstate and it took nearly two miles to get from 65 ot 110. I stopped there because those bias plys were hard to balance and it started to get all weird handling at just a little over 100. I also have to admit, looking back, that I don't remember if I just put the peddle to the metal or gradually accelerated. So the time frame might well be my fault. Anyway shortly after it hit 100K it started to use oil. Not that you could see from the exhaust, but, use it, it did. By then my wife was using it daily to commute to work and I wasn't really driving it all that much. She came home one evening and said that she thought the engine was making weird noises. I checked it out and could not even see any oil on the dipstick. I added 4 qts to a 5 qts system and it still wasn't registering as full. It never ran the same after that. It ran OK, it just seemed different in many ways. So one day, after my oldest girl got really sick and I had a problem getting it to start to get her to the ER, I decided that I couldn't rely on it anymore and I traded it in. I know it was just a machine, but, it was like I lost an old friend. So much of our/my history was tied up in that thing that it was hard to let it go. But, the family security came first so away she went.

That's the regular size for Sangria in UNIView attachment 198765
Somehow I missed this post. Which is why I probably shouldn't be on here first thing in the morning.

My margarita in San Diego was DEFINITELY bigger. You can tell by the water glass sitting next to it. It was huge. And less than $10, which was a huge plus.

Yep, that's one of the reasons I've always heard, too. Plus, most cars these days have excellent heat/AC (climate control) so most folks don't even roll their windows down anymore, like back in the day.
Unless, of course, you have something like this ...! ;)

Florida is still looking for @Mr Ferret 88. I may or may not have something to do with a similar vehicle:eek:

The daughter just called, things went along good. They have one more court date to file the agreement and then make it legal. It will be finalized on June 15... Daughter needs us to baby sit boy's. I think she is starting to get boxes rounded up, and emptying the cabinets. We are staying with the boy's and keeping them company. Will be home late, I don't think I will be on tomorrow or Sunday. Have a nice Easter, everyone. Jelly beans and candy to everyone!:joyfull::joyfull::joyfull::inlove::inlove::inlove:

Bets, so happy to hear that things are coming along. Happy Easter to you, Mr. Bets, and all in your family.

I had to leave this behind as I was too stuffed. I could have taken it with but I didn't want to carry it around.
