A few months ago, I booked AKL (when they offered 25% off rooms), a park ticket, and QS dining plan. (Tax refund this year was more than last, so I went hog wild.) But I kept thinking about how much money it was, and the other night, I called to cancel out the entire thing (for May). :(

However, since I'm a fan of the Swan (with the convenient location--I don't rent a car), I decided to book there again for 4 nights, at a more reasonable rate. Today, I was off from work, so I also went to our local AAA office and bought a 5-day park hopper/with waters parks option ticket--their price was $62 less, than if I bought it at the gate. (The woman told me this is the highest discount they've negotiated with WDW.) It's also the plastic card which I prefer; I don't like the Magic Bands.

My dates aren't firm yet (even though I've reserved stuff--I have flexibility in the hotel reservation), because hubs has to go on a trip around that time as well. (Working with a range of dates--the only time I refuse to go is when Pandora opens. The parks are mobbed enough as it is!)

Sorry about needing to cancel AKL, but, congrats on the upcoming trip and discounts!
Prayers and Pixie Dust that the timing works out...! :)

Having a good day today! Although long story short, when we bought our premier pass in wdw, wdw screwed up the Disneyland end of things so I'm having lots of problems using my pass for discounts.i planned on going shopping this afternoon but it is such a hassle I have decided to have pool time and a nap. Then another snafu, the pool requires a bathing suit which I forgot the to pack. So I'm just soaking my feet.

Here's some pictures.

The daughter just called, things went along good. They have one more court date to file the agreement and then make it legal. It will be finalized on June 15... Daughter needs us to baby sit boy's. I think she is starting to get boxes rounded up, and emptying the cabinets. We are staying with the boy's and keeping them company. Will be home late, I don't think I will be on tomorrow or Sunday. Have a nice Easter, everyone. Jelly beans and candy to everyone!:joyfull::joyfull::joyfull::inlove::inlove::inlove:

I hope it all gets straightened out soon but a bad day at Disney is many times better than a good day at work:joyfull:

I honestly believe they were a security issue. They could be pried open and then the doors opened. And could not be secure with electronics.
Thats what I think, not a fact.

Yep, that's one of the reasons I've always heard, too. Plus, most cars these days have excellent heat/AC (climate control) so most folks don't even roll their windows down anymore, like back in the day.
Unless, of course, you have something like this ...! ;)

Same here. Other than the '70 Chevy Camper Special truck that pop still has, the last car I remember my folks havin' with those was our '64 Olds F-85...

Even my first car, a '71 Olds Cutlass, didn't have 'em anymore.
It looked just like this, sans the mag wheels, and dual exhaust...! ;) :)

My father owned a 64 Cutlass F-85, in fact that was what I used to get my drivers license. I liked that little car, it was fun to drive.

I didn't have a 71 Cutlass but it my first new car was a golden on the bottom with white vinyl top, 70 Buick Skylark which was basically the same car. I really loved that car. 350 V-8, but very basic (normal for that time) No AC, AM radio, Bench seats, Automatic Trans., hand crank windows and bias ply tires. I had that car when I met my wife, used it on our Honeymoon, Brought our first and second born home from the hospital. Many memories in that machine. I always felt that I should have had it bronzed and put on our mantel, however, we didn't have a mantel so I guess it worked out as it should.

I put 110K on it and for that time in automotive history that was a long, long time. Just think, you had to replace the tires every 15k miles, oil change every 3K, Tune-ups including points, plugs, condenser and timing check every 10K. Just keeping the vinyl top clean in the world of smog and soot was a full time job. Spent it's life up in Vermont and usually if you got a car to hit 70K it left you on the back of a wrecker headed toward the automotive junk yard destined to become pieces parts to other cars that were being nursed along.

Edited Because: I put in the name Cutlass when I meant to put in F-85. Again I blame it on Oldtimers or Meg... whichever you prefer!

Hahaaa...!
Yep, definitely the same basic car. GM has mostly always been that way. Mine had a "Rocket 350" with a 2bbl carburetor. It got up and went, but, it was no rocket. I would have much more preferred a 4bbl...just the sound of the secondaries kickin' in when I popped the pedal to the floor would have been worth the extra gas in my mind back then...!!!!! :joyfull:

And yep, no AC either, I put in my own stereo system (with a cassette deck, not 8-track ;)), it also had buckets up front, auto tranny, hand cranked, and bias, as well, when I first bought her. Radials later.
I remember all the tune up stuff, as well. Points, plugs, condenser. Did it regularly. I don't need my timing light anymore these days, though ...!!! :hilarious:
Mine had 186,000+ un-rebuilt miles on her before DWifey finally talked me into getting rid of Bessy... :( ;)
I do sometimes wonder whatever happened to her...I loved that car... :cyclops:
