A bit of a different Half-day Friday today.
One of DWifey's uncles passed away in a nursing home on Wednesday. He was such an awesome guy, but, didn't take care of his type 2 diabetes too well, and ended up having to have both of his legs amputated. Shortly after that, they discovered he had breast cancer. I read a story years ago that only about 300 men are diagnosed with breast cancer in the US every year.
DWifey had to take the day off to go to Houston to bring her mother back up this way for the funeral.
In the meantime, I went and picked up DS from work, got some bloodwork done (non-fasting, routine), got a haircut, and some other errands done. Life goes on.
Funeral tomorrow at 10a in their town about an hour away.
We'll miss you uncle Carl...

The groundhog gets to live today because it's going up into at least the mid 50s We're celebrating with vegan chili, ships, salsa and guacamole

It was almost 60 here today. During the walk with the dog, I had to shed some layers I got too hot! But as I look in the forecast it will be back into the 30's and 40's soon.

In my travels yesterday I got to go to a rather large produce market, it's not my farm market but not bad for this time of year. Their tomatoes are decent considering they're hot house. SUMMER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, o.k. Maybe they were trucked in from California. One of the local supermarkets here gets in a bunch of their produce from Mexico. That's why I asked where your fresh tomatoes came from. I've got nothing against Mexico (Cesar lives there--we like Cesar!! ), but I don't understand why--if they can get in produce from Mexico--then why can't they just truck in produce from California or Florida up here, too?
