I feel the same way about Wishes, I love it but am excited for the new show. But I didn't get the hate for the JB show. It wasn't great but it was cute. I think it helped us that JB is one of my favorite movies and we knew all the songs by heart. Even my older ds seemed to smile a bit during it. That being said I hope they don't mess too much with Illuminations.

I think the Jungle Book show was okay for what it was, I wasn't in love with it but I didn't hate it either. The night we saw it the projections were very blurry and it wasn't even windy, so that was a disappointment for me. I think the performers did a great job, but over all it was a little disjointed. I think there could have been some ways to make it better, like having Baloo and Louie come out during some songs. I also thought that the show production should have waited until the show was over to send out the boats to go get the performers, during our performance the show wasn't over and all of a sudden boats were zooming over to the floating stages. I thought that was bad show.

I'm also not a huge Jungle Book fan, however I do love the songs. But since the songs were a big part of the show I guess that it isn't a big factor to my disappointment in the show overall. I do appreciate that Disney tried to bring entertainment to that area when they couldn't debut ROL, they could have just don't nothing.

Edit to above: a winter weather warning was just posted for late tonight into early Monday morning making a delay likely:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad: Make it 2 large glasses of chianti:angelic::angelic::angelic:

Sorry, do you want to come to Wisconsin? We might get a little rain tonight but it is supposed to be in the 40's and maybe by next Saturday in the 50's. It is very springlike outside this morning!:inlove:

Yes, the roads weren't that much better around here (in the morning yesterday, that is). I went out to get some groceries in the morning, but not until almost noontime. Until the salt has enough time to eat through the ice, etc., it was dangerous driving. I'm sorry you had to drive in that.

We just got another 4 inches of snow overnight here--did you in R. I.? (Ours is fluffy and easy to clear the front steps, etc.)

I went to work midday and almost came right back home. We got a couple inches and apparently a bigger storm tomorrow night.

Drive carefully, and glad you all are safe.

I look forward to your review of Rivers. Sadly when anything is hyped as much as this has been and for as long as it has been there is a very high bar. The CMs reviews on previous previews have been mixed with A+ on certain aspects and Meh on other executions. Reminds me of the hype of FLE, nice a good addition however not a grand slam. If it is going to cost guests a meal to experience...if they can even get that I'm sure that will weigh into the overall planning of capacity review. That River is Big and Long, I road it the day the park opened.

The exit of Wishes is the bigger news to me. Rumored for several years but with the Iger budget cuts of the last few years it was an easy slash for stock holders. And on that note from a bean counters standpoint it is an amazing Chess move. That area had 3 events every evening. A parade, Projection Show and Fireworks. Cut the night parade and consolidate the the projection and Fireworks. They trimmed the cost of all the preformers for the parade and support staff surrounding the parade route. Now they just cut in half the hours of the support staff for the projection and fireworks boots on the ground support staff into a 18 minute show. So at the very best an evening of expenses has dwindled to an hour of support show staff. Brilliant cost cutting measures. Me, I look forward to another fireworks show at the MK. Wishes was nice, still Disney has kept it around since 2003, it is time. Now I wait to see what Illuminations will bring and if AK, the Studios or Epcot ever bring back a parade as they are cost heavy.

Yep, brilliant bean-counting-high-fives all around there.
The "Disney Difference" then: quality story, show, and experience above all competitors.
The "Disney Difference" now: it'll pass for good enough, make our bonuses bigger, increase the bottom line, and make the shareholders happy.

My only gripe is that the newest ponchos are crap quality wise. They rip apart so easily.
There was a huge difference in my fist trip vs the last trip ponchos (2013 vs 2016).
You could rehuse the 2013 versions a few times.. 2016 feels disposable single use only.

Surprise that, right?
And, they probably cost at least twice as much as the better ones they used to have.
Just another reason we haven't bought any of theirs in at least a decade. Even the old decent ones were too expensive for our liking.

I don't expect anything good anymore after the fiasco of Fantasyland.
If you really think that Fantasyland is a fiasco then I doubt that there is very much that you would think is good. I think it was beautifully done, with plenty of positive changes, two rides, added Dumbo, restaurant, and meet and greet show, and some of the best theming that they have done in years. Might have been better, but, it was quite and improvement over the 9 year empty lot that preceded it. It did lose one ride that was about as popular as a pay toilet in a diarrhea ward. Unreasonable expectations do not a failure make.

We didn't have any of those issues but I'm sure I saw it after it was tweaked a few times.

That's very kind, thank you. It was in the teens this morning, hit 50 something this afternoon and freezing carp by midnight. I think mother nature has been hanging out in Colorado :hilarious:
