Well, with the Disney announcements today I was a little busy. Since our trip in March is really just a long weekend, I was able to adjust my plan and I got a reservation for a Rivers of Light dining package for lunch (at 3:05) and breakfast. Now I just have to decide which one to go with, they are both on the same day. I wasn't able to get fast passes, so dinning package will have to do. Plus I'm pretty excited there will be a new MK fireworks show this summer, so I'm thankful I will have one last chance to see Wishes.

But really I'm most excited for some warm weather soon.

So glad y'all will get to see Wishes one more time! :) We will miss it very much. :(
I posted before that on our Princess 5K trip last Feb., we saw it from the back of the Castle as it started while we were just finishing up 7DMT. Had never seen it from that area of the Park, and it was it was beyond amazing...!!!!! :joyfull:
SonIL has a GoPro of it that I talked about posting way back when, and I need to do that...fireworks going off in front of you, behind, on each side, and right over you...it was off-the-charts spectacular...!!!!!!! :joyfull:

And yes, Y'all need to get to some warm weather...STAT...!!! ;)

It is one of my favorites! :geek: Disney at her best, my first 'family' Disney vacation with my kid and my kids first encounter with the paramedics being called for him. Who could ask for more? :D

Here, I'll post it for you again. :p

I have watched it a few times from the Fantasyland area, it is a good place. As you said it is fun to have fireworks going off around you. I think though, since we will really only have one night that we can watch it we will probably watch it from Main Street for our last time.

I look forward to your review of Rivers. Sadly when anything is hyped as much as this has been and for as long as it has been there is a very high bar. The CMs reviews on previous previews have been mixed with A+ on certain aspects and Meh on other executions. Reminds me of the hype of FLE, nice a good addition however not a grand slam. If it is going to cost guests a meal to experience...if they can even get that I'm sure that will weigh into the overall planning of capacity review. That River is Big and Long, I road it the day the park opened.

The exit of Wishes is the bigger news to me. Rumored for several years but with the Iger budget cuts of the last few years it was an easy slash for stock holders. And on that note from a bean counters standpoint it is an amazing Chess move. That area had 3 events every evening. A parade, Projection Show and Fireworks. Cut the night parade and consolidate the the projection and Fireworks. They trimmed the cost of all the preformers for the parade and support staff surrounding the parade route. Now they just cut in half the hours of the support staff for the projection and fireworks boots on the ground support staff into a 18 minute show. So at the very best an evening of expenses has dwindled to an hour of support show staff. Brilliant cost cutting measures. Me, I look forward to another fireworks show at the MK. Wishes was nice, still Disney has kept it around since 2003, it is time. Now I wait to see what Illuminations will bring and if AK, the Studios or Epcot ever bring back a parade as they are cost heavy.

I'm excited and nervous for Rivers of Light, as you since sometimes when things are hyped up for so long expectations get really high. I want to be wowed not leaving feeling MEH. It just has to be better than the Jungle Book show they had this past summer. I'll never forget the lady that was sitting next to my husband, at the end of the Jungle Book show she turned and said, "What the #&*!$ was that?!"

I have actually been expecting Disney to announce a replacement for Wishes for quite awhile, although I really thought that they would hold out until the 50th anniversary. But perhaps they will bring out a new Illuminations for that one, maybe one with some of the music they used in the late 1980's-early 1990's. I loved that one. So, I'm a little bummed about the loss of Wishes, but really it had a good run and hopefully the new one will be good too.

Yep. A classic location for the final show. So bittersweet, though. But so glad y'all will be able to experience it one last time...! :)

Yes y'all do!
If even for just a long weekend...! :)
Stay at the El Tropicano, like we did on our 27th wedding anniversary last Decrmber. It's got such a classic, yet updated, 60's-cool vibe...!
I have a special place for San Antonio in my heart since it's my hometown, but, also yes, the Mexican/Tex-Mex food :hungry:, plus it's just such a vibrant city...!!!!! :joyfull: :)
