Well, we did get some freezing rain here, not enough to close or delay school. But enough that our parking lot was a skating rink, and I almost biffed it on my walk from my car into the building. It did warm up here to melt some of it, but as I drove home the rout I normally take the dog for a walk on was still snowy & icy so we skipped the walk today. I think she is mad at me, especially since she had to go to the vet yesterday.

Where does SOG buses pick up and drop off, I've never noticed. Thanks. That could be a fun place to hang at their lounge.
They're in the regular parking lots. With all the busses it's easy not to notice the one you're not looking for. I did notice the CMs seemed a bit more helpful when asking where a SOG stop was compared to any other bus. As for the lounge it wasn't fancy more like a neighborhood sports bar but it wasn't crowded and nice and quiet.:joyfull:

Oy. Our District until we signed up (and pay dearly) for an all call service had a horrible track record of teachers and student in transit before calling off school.
I got a call minutes before school start from the office that my son who was picked up by a bus needed to be PICKED UP cause school was cancelled. He took the early bus for chorus. I had my little girl and a foot of snow in driveway and it is a long driveway-he needs to be picked up now. I took my sweet little time. Only the principal and him were there when I arrived. lol. Left my DD with a neighbor and walked about 2 miles to pick him up. No way could I clear a 150 drive in that time frame. Twits.

Our District generally yields to the the High School which is a different co-op of many small communities that have separate K-8 districts but consolidates for high school. They were late to the party to call off the two high schools. A whacked school district system that nobody has the answer to how to fix 60 years later given the local property tax structures. The fallout is always the families. Before that IF you wanted your kid to attend high school the local school district would give you a voucher to pick a high school to send your kid to, it was all on the parents with voucher in hand to figure out how your kid would be educated and how to transport the students.
Sympathy like and a big hug. Usually we get the delay/closing call about 5 or 10 minutes before it's time for the boys to be up. But seeing we're one of the first stops on the bus route it's always close:grumpy:

I now know why the person who had my phone # before me changed it. It seems the person who had it has an ex who after having a few too many likes to call and beg forgiveness. Nothing like getting up just after 2(btw that's a bit early even for me). At least I got my morning workout done and a few other things around here. I have the # and name on caller ID and that person will get a polite call from the police today, if it happens again the next call will not be so polite.

Thanks!
I've been fascinated by the Contemporary since I was a child, so that would be my first one on the list...! :)
Followed closely by the Poly, then the GF.

I agree. There's just something about the massive Contemporary with the monorail going through it--from the first time I saw it until now, it's been the "mother ship" to me. Years ago, I stayed there twice, for a few nights each time (which broke the bank for me - ha!). But, I just had to stay there--each time had a high level floor and view of the MK. I'd go out to the balcony early morning and in the evening, and just take in all the sights. I loved watching the first monorail come out of the MK in the morning, when the sun came up.

Second, would be the "old" Polynesian, before the redo of a few years ago. Third would be the GF--just a gorgeous property, and I miss all the "space" they had prior to the DVC building. I used to love that stroll along there past the tennis courts (which I think they dumped for the DVC), the spa and the wedding pavilion. And now of course, we have the "fence" along the entire waterway. Still, the GF is a beautiful hotel.

Thanks, Minnie! :)
I just Googled "AARP memes", and that was one that popped up!
I'm a few years beyond that 50 mark, myself, so I can chuckle at it.
Most of the time, I don't feel too decrepit, but, then, there are certain days...! ;)
But, It's all good for now, for the most part...!!! :joyfull: :) ;)

Yup, Father and Mother Time have crept up on many of us! (I keep looking for the silver lining, but can't find one! :p )

Is there a way to "block" the phone number from that person, so you don't ever get a ring from him again?
