Me either. If Disney keeps this change for the worse attitude UNI will be getting more of our money. I'm not saying I don't want to go back but unless I can talk my dh into a day here or there it may be a while

As a designer for an architectural firm, I completely understand the need to "think outside the box" a good deal of the time.
And, as much Disney history as I'm familiar with, I know that all the most popular character designs have evolved several times over the years. Including the original hose-limbed versions of Mickey and Minnie, to Pie-eyed, etc. But, they also always seemed to evolve for the better, becoming more sophisticated and personable, in design.
I don't know if this is some kinda' effort to go a bit retro with a "twist", but, to me anyway, it came out a little more "bent"... :cautious:  :cyclops:

Edit to clarify:
I am referring to the Minnie on the pajamas that @Gabe1 posted.

I do like my home made ones better but seeing I made a few very large trays ............ I did make everything else from scratch:joyfull: I make them from scratch for tacos where it really makes a difference not that my boys take long enough to taste it:cautious:

I savor every bite. When they're done right, they're such a scrumptious vessel for whatever you want to fill them with...!!! :hungry: :)

Good for her. Glad she is happy.

Is she planning a trip to the real Key West or Disney Key West? My Sis a few months ago just bought another vacation property, a condo in the Real Key West. She also has a massive 3 story townhome on Lake Chautauqua in NY though I believe they are going to sell the condo in NYC. It is kinda funny though cause she only uses them for long weekend trips. When they vacation 3-4 times a year they always leave the country.

The real Key West. We're all involved in the planning (family trip), but, DWifey, as per usual, has taken the planning lead. ;) :)
My ol' buddy, and best man at our wedding, from the northeast (NYC most recently) relocated to Key West a few years ago.
It's shaping up to be a good one...!!!

We are getting the rain, so far no ice but by noon the temps are to start to drop fast and there isn't residual salt left on the roads so it maybe a timing thing if the rain passes through before or after the temp drop. Glad ice missed you. Can I come to dinner, that sounds delicious and fitting?

Delicious and fitting...?!?!?! o_O
I'm gonna' go out on on a "limb" ;) here, and say you, Figgy, and my DWifey are more likely to eat one of your own limbs than groundhog meatloaf...!!! :hilarious: :D ;) :)

I'm the opposite; I've always liked Contemporary. It was my favorite as a kid and is still my favorite now. I used to love when I was a kid going to the arcade and winning prizes. I used to ask to go over there at least once a trip.

Back before we stayed at DVC resorts 100% of our vacation, we stayed in the main tower, I wanna say twice. One time it wasn't even what we booked; there was a problem with where we were supposed to stay, and they offered to transfer us there, and put us in the tower with an MK view for the inconvenience. I remember being a very happy camper. And then BLT opened, so we stayed there several years. Looking out your window and seeing MK and the monorail was great.

I'm not a Poly fan. The whole thing feels very fake. Also, trying to get back to your room in the middle of a thunderstorm is, well, not fun. Not something you have to worry about at any of the other deluxes. Although the DVC studios there are nice.

Never stayed at GF, although I don't really have much desire to do so. Too frilly and stuffy for my taste.

My kids loved staying at the Contemporary when they were small. We'd usually back then transfer over the last few days of a trip from POR or FQ when they were little. We'd stay in the tower and my DD loved the daybed. I wasn't a fan of their bathrooms but the rooms were roomy enough especially after being in a moderate sized.

But I think what they liked most was the arcade. It was huge, it had prizes, great place to cool off or end a day. Lots of time spent in that arcade. But back then their pools were not anything to speak of and their QS was probably the worst I had experienced on property back then. Yet their TS Dining options were so nice back then and lounge. It was before the invasion of Chef Mickey's as it was still in the MarketPlace DTD. Gotta say I liked the monorail by the end of a two week trip.

Absolutely! I'll even spring for the first round. Drinks ran between 7 and 8 and a bit, make that quite a bit more potent than most Disney drinks. For getting around I think it's better than WL. They have their own buses which were never full even at park close and the monorail was a very short walk:joyfull:

Where does SOG buses pick up and drop off, I've never noticed. Thanks. That could be a fun place to hang at their lounge.

Well, we did get some freezing rain here, not enough to close or delay school. But enough that our parking lot was a skating rink, and I almost biffed it on my walk from my car into the building. It did warm up here to melt some of it, but as I drove home the rout I normally take the dog for a walk on was still snowy & icy so we skipped the walk today. I think she is mad at me, especially since she had to go to the vet yesterday.

Sympathy like!
Be careful...!

They have Contempo Cafe now. Food is fantastic now.

My parents used to plan a meal at Concourse Steakhouse and we'd go to the arcade usually before or after eating. It was such fun. I have a glitter lamp (similar to a lava lamp, only, well, glitter) and a twisty lamp in my room from those arcade trips.

And of course, BLT is lovely. One of my favorite spots on property is the walkway between BLT and the main tower. The breeze blows up there, so it can be 90 and still feel cool up there, and you can see monorail trains whizzing by and everything going on in MK, and you can turn around and see Bay Lake...it's such a pleasant spot, and people never stop to enjoy the view there. Too busy getting to where they want to go, but it's such a cool spot.

My dad talks about a trip he took with a friend when he was about my age. They were staying at Poly, and back then the arcade didn't close, but of course the monorail did. They were there so late that they didn't realize the monorail had stopped running. They ended up walking back to Poly until a CM picked them up.

That's plan A. Today I got the call 5 minutes after they were up:grumpy::mad::cry::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:

Oy. Our District until we signed up (and pay dearly) for an all call service had a horrible track record of teachers and student in transit before calling off school.
I got a call minutes before school start from the office that my son who was picked up by a bus needed to be PICKED UP cause school was cancelled. He took the early bus for chorus. I had my little girl and a foot of snow in driveway and it is a long driveway-he needs to be picked up now. I took my sweet little time. Only the principal and him were there when I arrived. lol. Left my DD with a neighbor and walked about 2 miles to pick him up. No way could I clear a 150 drive in that time frame. Twits.

Our District generally yields to the the High School which is a different co-op of many small communities that have separate K-8 districts but consolidates for high school. They were late to the party to call off the two high schools. A whacked school district system that nobody has the answer to how to fix 60 years later given the local property tax structures. The fallout is always the families. Before that IF you wanted your kid to attend high school the local school district would give you a voucher to pick a high school to send your kid to, it was all on the parents with voucher in hand to figure out how your kid would be educated and how to transport the students.

Yes, I remember the Concourse well, dined there many times. Likely I think you are too young to have experienced that area before the invasion of Chef Mickey's. It was 2 fold. The new Chef Mickey's as we know it today was smaller but noisy and didn't blend well with the Steak House. Exit Steak House. I was actually disappointed with the New Chef Mickey's, it was so different than the original at the MarketPlace in DTD. The food was so awesome in DTD. The experience was so much better back then. Someday I'll look for photo's of the kids at the Original Chef Mickey's. Likely all packed up in photo boxes I've yet to mount or convert to digital. I do

I've walked the ramp connecting the Contemporary to the DVC wing, my DS took me years ago on a tour. And I got a giggle out of your Dads blast from the past. They actually still do that. They do not allow guests to walk in areas deemed unwalkable safely and every day usually night or early morning are picking up late night guests or early morning joggers or park early birds and depositing them somewhere safe. Amazing to hear the DS stories of the foolishness of guests between the TTC and the MK trying to find a walkable route. lol. He has some great stories from almost a decade ago from his college program years.
