I've been going to the Shedd since I was just a little tyke. My Dad brought A/C to the Shedd way back and he use to bring me backstage so I could pet the dolphins. I loved Checo. Was so sad when he passed years ago.

Today GrandDad is gone. Grandad was 84 years old and the oldest fish to live in a zoo or aquarium. Came to Shedd in 1933. He will be missed.

Coincidentally, a new daily special appeared at The Bubble Net cafe at the Shedd Aquarium...

Doing well, thanks for asking! :)
She's still enjoying the relatively new job, and having fun with the Key West trip planning.
Things are definitely lass crazy than when we were both workin' retail way back when...! ;) :)

Good for her. Glad she is happy.

Is she planning a trip to the real Key West or Disney Key West? My Sis a few months ago just bought another vacation property, a condo in the Real Key West. She also has a massive 3 story townhome on Lake Chautauqua in NY though I believe they are going to sell the condo in NYC. It is kinda funny though cause she only uses them for long weekend trips. When they vacation 3-4 times a year they always leave the country.

Way back when I stayed at both Poly and the Comtemporary and liked Poly better, C seemed sterile. The nights we stayed at SOG we really lucked out because using the monorail was great!

Even before it became SOG that resort was a hidden gem. Bet at times Disney was disappointed in themselves for letting it go. It wasn't 'on' the monorail so at the time it had that going against it. Now like the WL guests would likely covet that resort, it has a lot going for it. I haven't been in SOG since it became that, someday maybe you can give me a tour. :inlove:

Good morning not! 30 something and rain:mad: at least it's not ice. Groundhog meatloaf, mashed potatoes, peas and Burgundy for dinner.

We are getting the rain, so far no ice but by noon the temps are to start to drop fast and there isn't residual salt left on the roads so it maybe a timing thing if the rain passes through before or after the temp drop. Glad ice missed you. Can I come to dinner, that sounds delicious and fitting?

Ah yes, the AARP kiss of death mailing. :hilarious: I remember years ago when my eldest brother received his in the mail. He had a very valid question--how did AARP know that he was in that age demographic? Who sold his information to them? o_O Freaky . . . :cautious:

I always know when Sam's Club has sold my name off yet again. I have a business membership and they rearranged my Company name. So when I receive stuff with that name I know it is a Sam's spin off of my data.

I'm the opposite; I've always liked Contemporary. It was my favorite as a kid and is still my favorite now. I used to love when I was a kid going to the arcade and winning prizes. I used to ask to go over there at least once a trip.

Back before we stayed at DVC resorts 100% of our vacation, we stayed in the main tower, I wanna say twice. One time it wasn't even what we booked; there was a problem with where we were supposed to stay, and they offered to transfer us there, and put us in the tower with an MK view for the inconvenience. I remember being a very happy camper. And then BLT opened, so we stayed there several years. Looking out your window and seeing MK and the monorail was great.

I'm not a Poly fan. The whole thing feels very fake. Also, trying to get back to your room in the middle of a thunderstorm is, well, not fun. Not something you have to worry about at any of the other deluxes. Although the DVC studios there are nice.

Never stayed at GF, although I don't really have much desire to do so. Too frilly and stuffy for my taste.

Absolutely! I'll even spring for the first round. Drinks ran between 7 and 8 and a bit, make that quite a bit more potent than most Disney drinks. For getting around I think it's better than WL. They have their own buses which were never full even at park close and the monorail was a very short walk:joyfull:

Maybe because you're allergic to pineapple you undervalue being walking distance to a Lapu:hungry: I also have a thing for palm trees and Tiki birds:hilarious:

In all seriousness, I have such trouble at all of their restaurants. Luau was the worst place I've ever been for dealing with food allergies. Seriously, there's not that much pineapple in actual Hawaii.

Also, I have been to Aulani. :D
