I have never used special left handed items (scissors, can openers). School desks were horrible...it was like writing sideways.

I can not twist a bottle cap...like marinara sauce with my left hand but I can with somethings like beer.

I always tell everyone that back in the day, I would get beaten up by nuns for being left handed.

That was my Mom's thought of being Left Handed, like the devil's hand. Yeah, not only did I have those nuns, my Mom did too and my Aunt was a Nun and boy she was a scary thing. No way was my Sis going to be a Lefty.

They just walked in the door. The delay ended up being about 15 minutes. My delay was 45 minutes yesterday. But since my aunt picked me up and I only had one suitcase, I ended up getting home at about the same time they did. They have five suitcases and had to go get the car. Takes a while.

I think we've just definitively proven that the cat is mine. When I came home last year, she complained even though they had been home. Yesterday, she complained (my aunt thought it was hysterical). They just walked in the door. She kind of pricked up her ears and went back to sleep. Yup. My kitty.

I was so hoping school was canceled today. The worst thing about this semester is the schedule. Just crammed. But I pretty much won't have homework in PE and Chorus, and PE is pass/fail credit, so that makes it a little better. Plus PE only lasts 8 weeks.

Congrats to your daughter. She must be very talented to be moving along and proving herself so quickly. :)

Awe, loyal kitty. Woot the family made it. It would be so awful for you two years in a row to have them in Florida and you buried in snow.

Thanks. I'm proud of her. She works hard but she catches on quickly and is a good judge of character. She figured out quickly who to ask questions to and who was as dumb as a rock. Picking your mentors is half the battle.

I had peromenopause in my late 20s and when I had my daughter (age 36) I had to have a full hysterectomy which brought on surgical menopause. I couldn't take the HRT they gave me so I just dealt with it. By age 40 I was done with the big M.

Wow! That is rough. She is like the little Miracle Baby! You seem to be joined at the hip with her like I am with my DD. My DH SIL had the same thing happen to her about the same age due to Ovarian cancer caught early by chance.
She did take the HRT but still rough physically. Such a drastic sudden chemical balance thing when you it a 100%.
My Sis was forced into that now or never thing when she decided to have my only niece. I often wonder if my Sis would have had children at all if it wasn't for that NOW ultimatum. Sis is a better person with my niece by her side.

If they didn't make it home, my bff was going to come hunker down with me.

Still, I told them that I would be super mad if they got stuck down there. They didn't particularly want to, though, the APs expire today and we were planning on buying them new in August.

The paper ran a some photos on the Blizzard of 78....it as amusing to see all the cars on the highway. Now, people take a fit over inches of snow. '78 is probably why.

It is hard to deal with all the hype, that is the difference. I left my job at Ohare after the Blizzards of the winter of
78-79 one after the other. It was an amazingly but awful winter.

The media just ramps it up.

Perhaps bowling... I can't putt to save my life! Wait. I am lousy at bowling too. I used to shoot pool pretty well in my youth though. Hmmmm. I'm pretty good at trivia pursuit because my brain is absolutely jam packed with useless information. Is that considered a sport?

Dear Lord, there are now College Scholarships for Video Gamers. And we wonder why our students struggle to keep up with China and India.

My dad never wanted kids. My mom wanted kids. They compromised and had me.:p Both times after my mom got pregnant, he walked around complaining that his life was over. He complained about all of the stuff he wouldn't be able to do anymore, one of which was "I'll never go to Disney World again!":hilarious: I think he just couldn't picture himself as a father at first; I've had him wrapped around my little finger ever since day 1. Our relationship now is far from perfect, but he's a good dad.

My parents did not know if I was a boy or a girl. I kept my legs together. My aunt commented that I must be a very stubborn boy or a very modest girl. More like very stubborn girl:joyfull:. They found out I was a girl two days before I was born, and my mom was so set on having a boy that she didn't believe them until I came out a girl. We are glad I was a girl because I would have gotten a horrible family name, and by the time my brother came around, my mom and I said absolutely not to the family name. So they got an even split, the best of both worlds. :)

I chose not to know what I was having. I wanted the surprise. The surprise of 9# boy the first round with zero drugs was enough for a long while. 5 years later was the DD. We both agreed early on with 3 children. Between a boy a girl, and the girl being in the NIC Unit I was DONE! I hate family names. My BIL is stuck with Albert. My MIL was so ticked when he had a son and they didn't stick with that. My DH showed interest in my DS being named after him which I was OK with just so he was called something else. My DH had the most popular boy name for decades so it was acceptable but I was not willing to have two people in the house ignoring me cause they thought I was talking to the other. We went with a another name. My DD was named by my son. He was in love with a little girl by that name in Daycare.

Oh, and in case anyone was following the thread about Disney removing all of their prizes from their arcades...

So far, nothing has been done. The only arcade where I saw claw machines are completely gone is Pizza Planet, minus a claw machine that's prizes are candy. But there were other machines with prizes. All other arcades (Boardwalk, Beach Club, Space Mountain, Disney Quest, and the arcade at Fantasia Gardens) all had claw machines/other prize machine. Contemporary and Beach Club are still dispensing tickets for prize redemption (BC has a machine where you can redeem tickets for prizes). Boardwalk and AK both have their games operating as normal

However, after talking to CMs running the arcades, prizes are slated to be removed. There isn't a timeline, though. Disney might be waiting to see what happens with the cases against Chuck E. Cheeses and others before going forward. CMs also said that game cards are staying. Only games I noticed that are missing now are ones that are basically gambling. At least with the one game, I had the strategy figured out so there was one trip I ended up with 5,000 tickets, but some of them were pure gambling. So that makes sense that Disney removed them.

Thanks for the update. I kinda understand both sides of this. Kids are so gullible. Disney doesn't need the aggravation of the legal woes. They can use the extra space in Pizza Planet.

When my kids were small and the Contemporary had that amazing arcade we'd take them there during a rain delay at the Magic Kingdom. They were in their glory.

If it is another Frozen, Disney will be very very happy.

Also, what do you expect? For Disney to move away from their long line of fairy tale type movies?
no,
I expect Disney to try to be original and not copy and paste.
I never said anything against the long line of "fairy tale". but the almost identical face must go.

700 right now works for me. I'm by no means a 125 lb. pixie, I'm a freaking Xena Amazon but I always have been. :D My insurance doesn't cover squat for diet/nutrition unless it's for diabetes. I don't have the extra $100+ for each doctor visit so it's the choice between seeking professional help or keeping my gas on. It's cold outside, I choose having heat.View attachment 80399
ahem, there are many guys who love that type of build.. just saying. :angelic:
